Daniel Garcia Wins ROH Pure Championship On 9/7 AEW Dynamite

The September 7 edition of AEW Dynamite, witnessed a new Ring of Honor Pure Champion. Daniel Garcia defeated Wheeler Yuta in a main event bout of Dynamite to capture his first singles championship at ROH/AEW. ## Garcia was able to knock Yuta off after submitting it with his signature 'Dragon Slayer' submission. After the match, Bryan Danielson walked down to the ring and helped put the belt on Garcia. ## This prompted Chris Jericho to come out and be surprised as Dynamite approached. ## Yuta originally won the title by defeating then-champion Josh Woods in the ROH Supercard of Honor. Sammy then hit his modified GTS finisher for the win. Sting was not ringside for Darby. Sammy rode Darby’s skateboard down the ramp after. ## * Samoa Joe is back and cuts a promo in-ring. He introduces himself, it feels good to be back in AEW. Owes the fans much more violence in the future. The ROH TV champ is in the house and open for business. Smart Mark Sterling, Tony Nese and Josh Woods interrupt. Josh Woods says since he saved Mark Sterling’s life on AEW Dynamite, he deserves a ROH TV title match. Joe agrees and wants the match right now. Later that night, following the SmackDown Women's Championship match between Natalya and Ronda Rousey, Morgan cashed in her contract on the latter to win the title, making her the third woman, and fifth overall superstar, to successfully cash-in the Money in the Bank contract the same night after winning it. ## Liv was immediately handed over to Wolves during her reign, as she had to defend her title against Rousey in a rematch at SummerSlam. Morgan managed to run away with the championship, which has since been criticized by fans. ## Ahead of last weekend's Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff, Liv Morgan spoke to BT Sport's Ariel Helwani, where she admitted that she expected to be booed by the crowd after the SummerSlam match was over. ## “It was interesting. It was kind of something that I halfway expected, because I feel like, in a way, the fans felt like I let them down, you know? Because I feel like the ending of the match, because of its controversy, they felt indifferent. ## They wanted me, I think, to get a clean, solid win, but I was facing the Baddest Woman on the Planet, who has years, and years, and years, and years, and years of mixed martial arts experience, and I outlasted two armbars and I did my absolute best in that very moment, and so they weren’t happy with the conclusion of the match. But at the end of the day, the referee’s decision is final, but and I’m still the SmackDown Women’s Champion and the only woman to beat Ronda Rousey twice.” ## “I hated it. It’s not the way that I would have hoped for it to go.
