Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Release Date Postponed

Mumbai, September 1 - Kangana Ranaut-fronted biographical drama film Emergency is set to be postponed from September 6. The movie, directed and headlined by Kangana, has been facing issues since the trailer was launched recently. ## Yesterday, Kangana shared a video stating that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has stalled the censor certificate amid threats and demanding major cuts. While the official announcement has yet to be made, it is said that the movie has been postponed as it is yet to get a censor certificate. ## Emergency has been in the news for quite some time now. Ali Abbas Zafar Returns To YRF For The Upcoming Films

Mumbai, August 30 - Blockbuster director Ali Abbas Zafar is returning to Yash Raj Films to direct some of the biggest films upcoming films from the studio, reports Variety. ## The Sultan director made his directorial debut with YRF's romantic comedy Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, starring Katrina Kaif, Imran Khan and Ali Zafar in 2011. He followed this with Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor's Gunday (2014) for the studio. ## Zafar got his biggest breakthrough under YRF in 2016 when he directed superstar Salman Khan's sports drama Sultan which is his highest-grossing film to date. A year later in 2017, the filmmaker reunited with Salman for another blockbuster, Tiger Zinda Hai, the second instalment of YRF's popular spy universe franchise created by YRF head Aditya Chopra. ## After making his first 4 directorial ventures for Yash Raj Films, Abbas Zafar reunited with the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star for the third time for Bharat (2019) which was the filmmaker's first movie outside YRF, before he directed 2 OTT films - Jogi (2022) and Bloody Daddy (2023). ## After scoring big success with all his theatrical films, Ali had a rare misfire earlier this year in the form of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which bombed at the box office. Now, after nearly 7 years, the successful filmmaker is making his way back to YRF where he scored a couple of his biggest blockbusters.## It is not yet clear which upcoming YRF projects Ali will direct and the report says it will be original theatrical tentpole titles. Mumbai, August 28 - Other than the Spy Universe, if there is one film, backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, which has been in huge demand is the action thriller Dhoom. The last film in this blockbuster franchise was Aamir Khan-led Dhoom 3, released in 2013.## Over the years since the third instalment, there have been social media trends time and again regarding the 4th instalment of the franchise. Interestingly Dhoom 4 was officially confirmed by the studio shortly after the release of the Dhoom 3. Still, for some reasons known to only YRF, the film's production never took place. ## As said, the chatter around Dhoom 4 has once again started gaining momentum and as per multiple reports, there is indeed something happening around the movie at YRF. Now, according to the report in Bollywood Hungama, YRF is preceding the early development of Dhoom 4 and is looking at director Ayan Mukerji as a potential name to helm it. ## Ayan Mukerji is currently directing YRF's Spy action thriller, War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. It is said that producer Aditya Chopra is happy with the footage shot for War 2 and has verbally discussed his intent to make Dhoom 4 with Ayan Mukerji. ## The report further states that Ayan has sought some time to think as he also has the next films in the Brahmastra franchise. The filmmaker wishes to focus on War 2 at the moment, and then discuss the future of Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Jio Studios, before committing to Dhoom 4. ## Meanwhile, the shoot of War 2 is expected to be wrapped by November this year. Mumbai, August 28 - Comedian Kapil Sharma made his acting debut with Abbas-Mustan's comedy film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon in 2015 and the movie turned out to be a box office hit with over 70 crore gross collection worldwide.## Now, 9 years later, the sequel to KKPK is in development with Kapil Sharma returning to headline this comic caper, according to the report by Pinkvilla. It is said that Kapil has signed the dotted lines and is excited for Kis Kisko Pyaar Karron 2 which is expected to begin shooting by the end of this year.## Abbas-Mustan, who directed the first film, will be supervising this time around while Anukalp Goswami, who was one of the key writers of the first part, will be directing the sequel written by him. The film is being produced by Ratan Jain under the banner Venus Records & Tapes.## KKPK film featured multiple actresses opposite Kapil Sharma and the report says that the sequel will also have multiple actresses for whom the casting is underway. Mumbai, August 28 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par has reportedly been postponed for Christmas 2024 release due to a delay in the post-production work. The movie is directed by Shubh Mangal Saavdhan fame R.S. Prasanna. ## Aamir will be returning to the big screen after more than two years after the debacle box office performance of the comedy-drama Lal Singh Chaddha (2022). It was the first major box office misfire for the actor in a long time which forced him to take a short break. ## Produced by Aamir Khan under his banner Aamir Khan Productions with Jio Studios, Sitaare Zameen Par was officially announced to be released on Christmas 2024, however, according to the latest report by Peepingmoon.com, the movie will not be able to achieve its post-production timeline. ## While the official announcement regarding the postponement is yet to be made, the report says it is unlikely to be released on its originally announced Christmas date. It is said that Aamir is happy with the way the film is shaping up but the post-production requires more time to achieve 100% satisfactory output.## Interestingly, Jio Studios has already scheduled Varun Dhawan's action thriller Baby John for Christmas 2024 release which more or less confirmed the postponement of Sitaare Zameen Par which is likely to be released in March/April 2025.## Sitaare Zameen Par is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed Spanish film Campeones, which tells the story of an arrogant and self-centred basketball coach. 'Stree 2' Crosses 2 Crore (20 Million) Footfalls In India; Second Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Mumbai, August 27 - Maddock Films and Jio Studios' horror-comedy Stree 2 has become only the second Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 2 crores tickets at the Indian box office, after Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD. ## The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted blockbuster sold nearly 1 million tickets on its 12th day, second Monday (Krishna Janmashtami), for total footfalls of approximately 2.06 crores (20.06 million) in 12 days so far, behind just Kalki 2898 AD which has sold 3.63 crores of tickets. ## Notably, Stree 2 has sold 20+ million tickets in just a single language while Kalki is a multi-lingual movie. In Hindi, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster sold approximately 1.56 crores of tickets in India which is the second highest of the year. Hrithik Roshan's Fighter is at three with 1.17 crores footfalls in Hindi.## At the box office, Stree 2 is nearing 500 crores gross collection in India. Mumbai, August 26 - After the all-time biggest second-weekend collection in Hindi, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-fronted Stree 2 scores a good hold on its second Monday, which is a partial holiday on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.## The day-wise box office trend of Stree 2 has been heavily frontloaded so far, and the momentum continued on its 12th day (second Monday) though the drop is harsher than expected by around 60% for an estimated 17-18 crores net collection. ## The second Monday collection of Stree 2, however, is big enough to take the total to past 400 crores net at around 401+ crores, making it the first Hindi film of 2024 to do so. The full second week of the film is heading for around 135 crores net which is huge. ## The horror-comedy blockbuster is expected to enter the 500 crores net club during the third week, and then, it will chase Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan (582 crores Hindi net) in its pursuit to become the biggest Hindi net grosser of all time.## As said, Stree 2 has an open run till September 6, and even after that, it is expected to remain a strong force at the box office which makes it a serious contender to beat Jawan. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, August 26 - Bollywood has its first mega-blockbuster of 2024 as horror-comedy Stree 2 has surpassed 500 crores gross at the worldwide box office, doing this in just 11 days since its release on August 15. ## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the leading roles, Stree 2 has become the first Bollywood and the second Indian film of 2024 after Kalki 2898 AD to top 500 crores worldwide. Overall, it is the 14th Bollywood and 23rd Indian movie to achieve this milestone. ## The blockbuster sequel has grossed approximately 460 crores at the Indian box office and an estimated 90 crores overseas, for a worldwide cume of approximately 540 crores in 11 days. This makes it the 23rd highest-grossing Indian and 14th Bollywood film at the worldwide box office. ## Stree 2 will cross Dhoom 3 (558 crores gross) and Tiger Zinda Hai (558 crores gross) with its second Monday's (12th day) collection to become the 21st biggest Indian grosser of all time.
