NTR-Neel's 'Dragon' Shoot Commences On February 20

Hyderabad, February 18 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR and KGF director Prashanth Neel are teaming up for the first time for an action drama film, tentatively titled Dragon. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it is among the biggest Indian films in the making and there is finally an update regarding the shoot. ## According to the latest Telugu media reports, the shoot of Dragon will commence on February 20 and Jr. NTR will join the shoot in a few days. The actor is currently shooting for his debut Bollywood movie, the hugely-anticipated War 2, co-starring Hrithik Roshan and directed by Ayan Mukerji.## Neel's movie with the RRR star was announced a long time back but due to the other commitments of both, it took more than expected time but now, it is set to take off. It is said that the rising star, Rukmini Vasanth will play the female lead and be paired opposite NTR. ## The other cast and crew details are expected to be revealed after the commencement of the shoot. There is no release date set yet but it is believed that it might be released early next year. Tamil Star Suriya Returns To Telugu Cinema To Headline Venky Atluri's Next

Hyderabad, February 16 - Tamil star Suriya is set to make his return to Tollywood after 15 years to headline a straight Telugu movie. The actor did Ram Gopal Varma's political action thriller Rakta Charitra 2 (2010) which was a Telugu and Hindi bilingual movie. ## According to the latest Telugu media reports, the Singam star will team up with director Venky Atluri to do a direct Telugu movie which will be produced by Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainment. The shoot for the same is expected to commence in May this year. ## While the exact details of the project are not known yet, it is said that the upcoming film will be a heist thriller. The technical crew which worked for Atluri's last movie, Dulquer Salmaan-fronted Lucky Baskhar is likely to reunite for this Suriya film. Bhagyashri Borse is reportedly playing the female lead while GV Prakash Kumar will score the music.## Suriya is currently shooting for RJ Balaji's Tamil movie and he will jump to Atluri's next immediately after wrapping it up. Hyderabad, February 5 - After a back-to-back couple of box office failures, Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya's romantic action thriller Thandel is gearing up to hit the big screens on February 7 amid high expectations. The movie has created a good buzz and is set for a better start this weekend. ## Thandel reunites Naga Chaitanya with actress Sai Pallavi after the superhit Love Story (2021), which was the only solo hit for the former post the Covid-19 pandemic. The movie is directed by Chandu Mondeti, whose last directorial, Karthikeya 2, was a huge blockbuster at the box office. ## Despite poor recent records for Chaitanya, Thandel has managed to fetch career-best pre-release theatrical business for the actor. According to T2BLive, the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) business of the movie is valued at approximately 27.50 crores, including 10.50 crores for the Nizam area. ## Apart from AP/TG, the rest of India business is at 3.50 crores, while overseas business is locked at 6 crore, for total worldwide theatrical business at 37 crores. The movie will need to score 38 crores share or 60+ crores gross collection worldwide to emerge as a box office hit. ## Produced by Geetha Arts, Thandel has to become the biggest solo grosser for Naga Chaitanya to be deemed a box-office success, which is not going to be an easy task. Mumbai, February 5 - The all-time box office blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule reloaded version has scored a good viewership on its streaming debut at Netflix. The Allu Arjun-fronted Pan India movie has almost finished its box office run and recently started streaming in all versions with added runtime. ## The action drama debuted on Netflix on January 30, and in the opening weekend, it generated 5.8 million views across languages. This is the third-biggest viewership debut for a post-theatrical Indian film since 2024, after Fighter (5.9 million) and Animal (6.2 million).## Pushpa 2 was the second most-watched non-English title globally on Netflix during the week of January 27 - February 2. It was the number 1 movie in 7 countries, including India, Mauritius, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, and Bangladesh and the top 10 in 15 countries in its debut week.## Netflix acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Pushpa 2 - The Rule for a massive price of 270 crores for all versions, that too without getting the benefit of a short theatrical window. While the opening weekend numbers look decent, given how Indian films have faired on streaming, it can be called underwhelming with the high cost involved. ## The initial reception for the movie seems to be ok, but it needs to be seen how it goes in the coming days. The cop action thriller was announced a long time back and is finally ready to roll out this summer. ## Recently, director Sandeep Vanga shared on social media that the music work has commenced for Spirit and a couple of days ago, he met with Prabhas on the sets of the latter's Fauji to discuss something. Now, according to the latest report by Pinkvilla, Spirit is set to go on floors in May this year. ## "Sandeep Reddy Vanga has almost completed the writing process of Spirit and is ready to take the film on floors in Summer 2025. The filmmaker is planning to make the most commercial film of his career with Spirit and is planning to reinvent the cop genre with this action-packed thriller", says the report. ## Spirit will kick off in Hyderabad in May 2025, followed by multiple schedules in India and abroad. Prabhas has allotted bulk dates to shoot for this highly-anticipated film. The actor will feature in a never-before-seen avatar and will sport a lean look. Mumbai, January 28 - Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has addressed the latest rumours about his casting in director SS Rajamouli's highly-awaited film with superstar Mahesh Babu. It was reported last year that Sukumaran was in talks to play the antagonist role. ## There have been rumours for the last few days that Sukumaran has been replaced by Bollywood star John Abraham due to scheduling issues, however, in the latest interview, the actor confirmed that the talks are still on for SSMB 29 though nothing has been finalized yet. ## Meanwhile, actress Priyanka Chopra is playing the female lead role opposite Mahesh Babu in this epic jungle adventure film. The look test for the actress happened recently in Hyderabad while the regular shoot is expected to commence soon. ## Apart from SSMB29, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also part of director Prashanth Neel's action drama Salaar. Hyderabad, January 28 - After the historic box office success, superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule is gearing up for its streaming debut. The movie, directed by Sukumar, the mega-blockbuster will stream on Netflix. ## On Monday, Netflix announced that Pushpa 2 - The Rule would stream in Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada languages with the reloaded version of 23 minutes of extra footage which was released in theatres on January 17. It will start streaming on January 30. ## Meanwhile, the streaming giant hasn't confirmed the Hindi version release with the South Indian languages and the reason for the same is not known yet. Recently, producer Ashwini Dutt revealed the shooting plans of the movie, and now, director Nag Ashwin provides a crucial update on the same. ## In a recent interview, director Nag Ashwin revealed that the script work on Kalki 2 has been completed and the makers are waiting for the bulk dates of Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, who played the main roles in the film, to start shooting which is expected to commence in mid of this year. ## The blockbuster director also said that they are planning to release Kalki 2 towards the end of 2026 in cinemas worldwide, depending on the progress of the filming. Mumbai, January 25 - Telugu veteran Venkatesh Daggubati's action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam has entered the 200 crores gross club at the worldwide box office, becoming the first film for the actor to achieve the feat. ## Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the Sankranthi blockbuster hit the double century on its 12th day which is one of the fastest non-Pan India Telugu titles to do so. The movie is having a super strong second weekend domestically and through Saturday, it has stormed past the box office milestone. ## In India, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has grossed approximately 172+ crores while overseas business is around 31 crores for the worldwide cume total of 203+ crores in 12 days. Hyderabad, January 24 - Superstar Allu Arjun's action drama Pushpa 2 - The Rule has had a dream run at the box office and has completed 50 days since its debut on December 5 last year. The Sukumar's directorial is closing in its box office journey but not before rewriting history. ## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the second part of the Pushpa series has grossed over 1736 crores worldwide, including over 1466 crores in India and over 270 crores at the overseas box office in 50 days so far and emerged as an all-time blockbuster. ## The film will finish as the third highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office, behind only Baahubali 2 (1790 crores approx.) and Dangal (2070 crores approx.).
