Mumbai, April 20, 2021: Bollywood superstar is all set to foray into the digital world. After teasing fans with a short video yesterday, the actor on Tuesday announced his OTT debut series, titled "Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness" for the OTT giant Disney Plus Hotstar. The crime drama thriller is said to the official Hindi adaptation of the British TV series, Luther which starred Idris Elba in the lead roles. ## It will be a Hotstar special series that will feature Ajay Devgn in an intense and gritty new cop avatar who is obsessed with his job of catching criminals. The series will be produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC Studios India. It will soon go on floors and will be shot across iconic locales of Mumbai. ## "My attempt has always been to tell unique stories and work with good talent. The idea is to raise the bar of entertainment in India. The digital world excites me, and I am looking forward to working with Applause and BBC to bring this series to life on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. The controversy over the poster of Ekta Kapoor's new web show is getting intense after National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria expressed his disappointment on the apology tendered by Ekta Kapoor's production house ALT Balaji following Saria's allegation of poster concept plagiarism. Saria alleged that the poster of Ekta's show "His Storyy" is similar to his 2015 film "Loev". ## Calling ALT Balaji's apology brazen, disrespectful, inconsiderate, careless, and smacks of arrogance, Sudhanshu Saria said during a video interaction with IANS that the apology has left him numbness and it knocked the wind out of me. He also expressed that the action left him angry which he could not even explain. ## On Sunday, ALT Balaji put out a statement on social media that reads, "On the 9th of April, we released a poster of 'His Storyy' and were made aware of the existence of Sudhanshu’s 'Loev' poster. The uncanny resemblance and similarity cannot be written off as a mere coincidence. It has been an oversight on part of our design team. For this, we apologize".## "We respect the creativity of every designer and would never intentionally lift their work nor disregard their talent. Thus, an apology to the artists involved in the making of this poster is warranted. After a controversy over the Tandav series, Amazon Prime Video was recently directed by the Bombay High Court to take down the Telugu movie, "V" over a complaint filed by actress Sakshi Malik. ## Now, Netflix has also become a subject to streaming objectionable content. This time, an Indian government agency for protecting child rights has asked Netflix to immediately stop streaming its new drama series "Bombay Begums" after it reviewed complaints around scenes showing children consuming drugs. ## In a letter to Netflix on Thursday, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) asked the streaming giant to investigate the matter and submit a report within 24 hours or face further action. The NCPCR notice referred to a tweet where a user objected to a scene showing "minors having cocaine".## "The series with this type of content will not only pollute the young minds of children, and may also result in abuse and exploitation of children", the NCPCR notice said.## Released this week, "Bombay Begums" is a series about five women from different parts of society trying to get ahead in modern Mumbai, formerly called Bombay. After the huge success of "Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story", the makers of the series have announced the second installment of the "Scam" franchise, titled "Scam 2003: The Curious Case of Abdul Karim Telgi".## The production banner Applause Entertainment on Thursday (March 4) revealed its plans of launching a second season, which will be based on the story of Abdul Karim Telgi, the mastermind of the 2003 Stamp Paper scam. Just like the first installment, "Scam 2003" will also be directed by the National Award Winning director, Hansal Mehta. ## The show has been adapted from the Hindi book Reporter ki Diary, authored by journalist/news reporter Sanjay Singh, who is credited for breaking the scam story years ago. The series promises to be an intriguing watch as it will capture the life of Abdul Karim Telgi, born in Khanapur in Karnataka, and his journey to becoming the mastermind behind one of India's most ingenious scams spread across multiple states which shock the entire country.
