Hyderabad, August 18 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has been shooting for director S Shankar's political thriller movie "Game Changer" since last year. It is one of the most hotly-awaited Pan India movies, which has Kiara Advani as the female lead and is produced by Dil Raju.## After "Game Changer", the "RRR" star has already confirmed his next which is with "Uppena" director Buchi Babu Sana. Tentatively titled "RC16", the movie is touted to be a rural sports drama that will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers. ## Now, according to Aakashavaani, the shoot of RC16 will commence in January 2024. It was supposed to go on floors in September this year but a delay in the pre-production has pushed it to next year. It is said that Vijay Sethupathi is doing a very crucial role in the movie. Mumbai, August 17 - Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama film "OMG 2" sees a drop of around 35% on its first Thursday. The drop was expected considering the movie is coming after a long holiday period, however, the drop is slightly on the higher side. ## The early estimates suggest the first Thursday collection of the movie in the range of 5.25 crores net which takes the total collection of the movie to over 84.50 crores net in the full first week. The multiplexes continue to drive the biz while smaller centers remain dull due to Gadar 2. ## "OMG 2" will be targeting 22+ net collections in the second weekend which will take its total collection to over 100 crores net. It has emerged as a clean hit and the hold during the second week will decide how long it can go at the box office. ## The film has had a couple of major challenges in its way which has affected its biz big time. Firstly, the movie is "A" rated, and secondly, it was released with a volcano like "Gadar 2" which is going bonkers at the box office. Director Amit Rai Reveals How Akshay Kumar's Courage Saved 'OMG 2'

Mumbai, August 17 - The sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal-starrer 2012's film "Oh My God - OMG" was finally released on August 11, 2023, and against all odds, it is set to emerge a big success. Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" features Akshay as Lord Shiva in an extended appearance while this time, Pankaj Tripathi takes the central role with Yami Gautam.## "OMG 2" has had its own struggle story before hitting cinemas. The makers had to fight an internal battle with the censor board as board members were initially not willing to grant a censor certificate to the movie. However, after continued efforts, the movie got censored but not the way the makers would have liked. It was granted an "A" rating (18+ only) while the team wanted "U/A" which was denied.## During a recent interview with ETimes, Amit Rai said that he is still trying to convince the censor board members to change their decision and give the movie "U/A" certificate. He also revealed that he took some intelligent steps to save the film from so many cuts for which, the VFX team worked continuously to make certain changes. ## Censorship issues aside, Amit Rai revealed that "OMG 2" would have never been made had Akshay Kumar not backed it. The movie deals with sex education in India and it has been given a religious angle to convey the message. Rai said that due to its subject, filmmakers like Karan Johar, Ashutosh Gowariker, Sony Pictures, and others had rejected the script and it was on the verge of getting shelved.## After many filmmakers rejected it, Akshay Kumar came forward and showed the courage to back it. "He was very open to the script and said that the film needs to be made. Because of him, we're still standing strong otherwise 'OMG 2' wouldn't have got made. I met Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl and through them, I reached Akshay Kumar. If I hadn't managed to reach him, the script would have remained in some corner", the filmmaker said.## Produced by Akshay's Cape of Good Films, Viacom18 Studios, and Wakaoo Films, "OMG 2" is going strong at the box office and scored approx. 108 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days. The filmmaker has managed to maintain his 100% success streak as a director.## Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring powerhouse of talent Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is heading towards 300+ crores finish at the worldwide box office. It has so far grossed approximately 291.50 crores through the third Wednesday (20 days). The movie is expected to enter 300 crores club in the coming week.## RRKPK has managed to hold really well so far with the day-wise trend being much better than most of the recent movies. Mumbai, August 17 - The second season of Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, has turned out to be a massive success for Jio Cinema which stream the reality show 24x7 for free. The first season was hosted by Karan Johar.## The show has broken records for Jio Cinema and becomes the most-watched non-sporting event for the streamer. On August 14, some 23 million viewers streamed the season finale live, per data provided by JioCinema (via Variety), hitting a peak concurrency of 7.2 million. ## Overall, the second season attracted more than 100 million viewers, with a total watch time of 30 billion minutes. These numbers are said to be the highest viewership for a live-streamed event in India, excluding sports.## Apart from the record viewership, around 250 million people voted when voting opened for 15 minutes for the top two finalists, Elvish Yadav and Abhishek Malhan. In all, there were 5.4 billion votes during the season and 55 million users engaged with the show's interactive features.## Earlier, Jio Cinema created an all-time viewership record during Indian Premiere League 2023. The movie marks the superstar's biggest comeback story after back-to-back underwhelming box office performances.## Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer grossed 17.50 crores on its 7th day at the domestic box office, and this takes the total collection of the movie to past 400 crores worldwide, becoming only the fourth Tamil movie of all-time to hit this rare box office mark. ## Jailer has so far grossed approximately 265 crores in India and an estimated 155 crores overseas, for a total of 420 crores at the worldwide box office in 7 days. Mumbai, August 16 - Director Raaj Shaandilyaa and actor Ayushmann Khurrana return with the sequel to their 2019's super hit comedy-drama film "Dream Girl". Ananya Panday is the female lead this time, replacing Nushrat Bharucha from the original movie. ## "Dream Girl 2" is scheduled to release on August 25 and this is the best bet for Ayushmann Khurrana as far as the box office prospects are concerned. Meanwhile, the movie has been certified with a "U/A" certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 13 minutes. (133 minutes). ## The original movie's runtime was almost similar to its predecessor with 132 minutes (2 hours and 12 minutes) while it also got a "U/A" certificate from the censor board. As far as the box office collection is concerned, "Dream Girl" grossed 195 crores worldwide, including 163 crores domestically.## "Dream Girl 2" may not have a smooth outing at the box office due to the strong trend of the latest sensation "Gadar 2" as well as "OMG 2". The drop today is likely to be around just 25% from the opening day on which the movie scored 10.26 crores net collection.## The social comedy-drama movie continues to score well in multiplexes as the early estimates suggest 7.50-8 crores net collection on the first Wednesday/sixth day. Mumbai, August 16 - After delivering the all-time blockbuster success with "The Kashmir Files" last year, national award-winning filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is gearing up for his next film, titled "The Vaccine War". Touted to be a true story, the film is based on the struggle and efforts of scientists during the covid-19 pandemic. ## "The Vaccine War" is scheduled to release on September 28, clashing with Prabhas-fronted "Salaar". Mumbai, August 16 - Independence Day week brings joy to the Indian film industry, especially to Bollywood as two of the long-awaited films "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" and "OMG 2" emerged as big box office winners. Both the movies have together brought in approximately 355 crores gross over a 5-day weekend at the domestic box office. ## Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol, has been sensational so far with its day-wise trending. After taking an excellent start of 40.10 crores net, the movie remained rock solid in the following days and eventually scored two 50+ crores net days. On Independence Day, the scored its biggest day with 55.40 crores net which is also the all-time biggest collection on this particular holiday.## "Gadar 2" minted a huge 228.98 crores net (270.20 crores gross) collection, which is the all-time second highest cume net collection for a Bollywood movie in the first 5 days. At the overseas box office, the period action drama film has grossed an estimated 28 crores, for a total worldwide cume of 298.20 crores gross. It has crossed 300 crores mark in the first shows of day 6 and becomes only the 4th Bollywood film of the year to do so.## Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam-led OMG 2 has also done really well over the extended 5-day Independence Day weekend, considering the blockbuster clash. Directed by Amit Rai, "OMG 2" left with very less chance to score outside non-multiplex chains due to Gadar 2-mani, but still, the social comedy-drama managed to score a very good 72.27 crores net (85.30 crores gross) collection.## The overseas collection of "OMG 2" is an estimated 14 crores gross which takes the total worldwide gross cume to approx. 99.30 crores.
