Mumbai, August 3 - Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani concludes the first week with a collection of over 73 crores net after another good hold on the first Thursday. It sees a drop of just around 10% today as compared to Wednesday's collection. ## The early estimate suggests the first Thursday collection of RRKPK around 6.25 crores net. This takes the total collection to around 73.50 crores net in the full week which is one of the biggest for a Bollywood movie this year. ## The second weekend will be crucial for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which will determine how long it can go at the box office. It is scheduled to release on September 28.## "Salaar" has been one of the most anticipated Pan India movies that will release in multiple languages, including English. However, as per the latest reports, the English version of the movie won't be released simultaneously with other versions and has reportedly been pushed back by 2-3 weeks.## According to the Telugu media reports, the "Salaar" English version will most likely be released on October 13, 2023. It will be the first $1 billion grosser for the studio since "Joker" (2019). ## Directed by Greta Gerwig, "Barbie" has crossed $850 million worldwide, and it is now the highest-grossing movie ever solely directed by a female. It has surpassed Patty Jenkins-directed DC superhero movie "Wonder Woman" which grossed $822 million worldwide in 2017.## "Barbie" has so far grossed $382 million at the domestic (North America) and approx. $470 million at the international box office. It is now the biggest solely female-directed movie of all time, not counting "Captain Marvel" ($1.13 billion) which was co-directed by Anna Boden with Ryan K. Fleck. ## Apart from being the biggest grosser for a female director, "Barbie" has already become the highest-grossing film of Margot Robbie, who plays the titular role, as well as Ryan Gosling. The movie starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor is attracting very good viewership despite finding itself in controversy. ## During the week of July 25 to July 30, 2023, "Bawaal" was the number 1 streaming title in India with 7.6 million views, according to Ormax Media, a media consulting firm that tracks viewership data across digital platforms in India. The movie emerged number 1 watched title, beating Bigg Boss OTT season 2 in the last week.## "Bawaal" scored 6.9 million views in its opening weekend (July 21-24). Mumbai, August 2 - Blockbuster Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie "Oppenheimer" has crossed the 100 crores net mark at the Indian box office, becoming the first movie of the director to achieve the feat in the country.## "Oppenheimer" tops the 100 crores net mark on its 13th day (2nd Wednesday) in both the versions - English and Hindi. The original English version has contributed approx. 90% of the total collection while the Hindi version has done the remaining. It didn't release in other languages.## Based on the life of American theoretical physicist and polymath J. Robert Oppenheimer, "Oppenheimer" is the 3rd Hollywood movie of the year after "Fast X" and "Mission Impossible 7" while it is the 13th Hollywood movie ever to reach the century mark at the Indian box office.## Check out day-wise collection of the movie here## "Oppenheimer" has done exceptionally well in the IMAX and has grossed approx. 23 crores so far which is around 20% of the total collection. It has held superbly during the weekdays after the very good opening weekend.## "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has so far grossed 60 crores ($7.25 million) in the first week and emerged as the second biggest Bollywood grosser of the year at the overseas box office. Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" is currently the biggest Bollywood as well as Indian grosser overseas this year with a collection close to 400 crores.## North America has been the biggest market of RRKPK so far with $2.90 million (24 crores), followed by Gulf countries with $2.10 million (17.40 crores), and the United Kingdom with $890K (7.40 crores). In Australia also, RRKPK has really well over the first week and grossed a solid $460K (3.80 crores). The other markets grossed an estimated $900K (7.50 crores). ## In North America and the UK along with other European countries, RRKPK is having showcasing issues due to "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer", still the collection so far is strong. ## The worldwide collection of this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer is 146.50 crores, including 86.50 crores domestic gross in the first week. Mumbai, August 2 - The Independence Day 2023 week is expected to be a big money spinner at the Indian box office with multiple tentpole movies lined up for release across different languages. There is Rajinikanth's much-awaited Tamil blockbuster "Jailer" as well as Chiranjeevi's Telugu movie "Bhola Shankar", and two of the highly-awaited Bollywood biggies, Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2" and Sunny Deol-fronted "Gadar 2". ## "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues", which is the sequel to the all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001) has been one of the most anticipated Bollywood movies ever since it was announced. As the release date is getting nearer, the anticipation for the movie is going up with each passing day, especially, after the teaser and trailer launch.## Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2" is expected to release on over 3500 screens nationwide and advances were opened nearly two weeks before the release. It is one of the very few movies post the covid-19 pandemic to open advances so early and it seems the decision to open early bookings is bearing fruit for the film. It has sold approx. 720K tickets worth approx. 17.60 crores gross collection as of 5 AM on August 11. In three national chains, the movie has sold approx. 285K tickets with PVR leading with 120K tickets for the opening day, which is excellent. ## Going by the pre-booking trend, "Gadar 2" looks like a big opener at the box office and is set to emerge as the second-biggest opening day grosser for an outright Bollywood movie of 2023. It is a complete mass entertainer with a patriotic theme that has a tendency to explode in advances in the last couple of days. With one day to go, the trend indicates an opening of around 35 crores net and might go towards 40 crores which remains to see. These are high-end projections that might change if word-of-mouth is not favorable. However, the movie is the sequel to an all-time blockbuster, which has generational fans who are expected to turn in, so the opening of 35 crores looks like a safe bet.## "Gadar 2" is set 20 years after the events of the first movie. It is set against the backdrop of the "Crush India" campaign in 1971 when Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) travels back to Pakistan on a personal mission to save his son Charanjeet "Jeete" Singh (Utkarsh Sharma) who is imprisoned and tortured by the Pakistan soldiers under Major General Hamid Iqbal. ## The movie is produced by Anil Sharma Productions in association with Zee Studios. The film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma reprising their roles from the first film while it also features Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra, and Luv Sinha in key roles.
