Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' Gets NOC From The Indian Army

Mumbai, July 1 - The sequel to Sunny Deol-fronted all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" is one of the most-anticipated Bollywood movies. Directed by Anil Sharma, "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" is scheduled to release on August 11 this year and the preparations are being made for a grand release. ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the first cut of "Gadar 2" has been locked and was screened for the Indian Army. It is compulsory for any army-based film in India to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Defence Preview Committee before the release. ## The "Gadar 2" team screened the film for the Indian Army to get a NOC and not only did they get clean chit but also received a positive reception from the Indian Army. The Ministry of Defence Preview Committee has given clearance to the film without raising any issues and shared positive words of appreciation with the team. ## Produced by Zee Studios and Anil Sharma Productions, "Gadar 2" recently launched and got a thunderous response. While the teaser and a song have already been launched, the makers will soon be launching the grand theatrical trailer of Gadar2 for the audience. ## The movie also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkrasha Sharma in prominent roles. Mumbai, July 1 - In August last year, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal announced his Pan India film "Vrushabha. Nanda Kishore, who directed the hit Kannada movie "Pogaru", was attached to direct this big-budget high-octane drama film. ## Now, it is revealed that Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor has joined this project as one of the producers of the movie which will be co-produced by Abhishek Vyas of AVS Studios in association with Praveer Singh and Shyam Sunder of First Step Movies. ## According to reports, "Vrushabha" will be made on a budget of 200 crores, and the shoot for the same will commence in London next week. The film is to be made in South Indian languages as well as in Hindi and is said to be an emotional-action drama between a father and son.## Meanwhile, Mohanlal was spotted with producer Ekta Kapoor yesterday at Yash Raj studio in Mumbai and it is said that he has also been dubbed for the promo of "Vrushabha" in Hindi. Los Angeles, July 1 - Filmmakers Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's Atomic bomb drama "Oppenheimer" are two of the most anticipated Hollywood movies releasing this summer. What is more intriguing is that both movies are coming on the same day (July 21), indulging in one of the most epic box office battles in recent times. ## In the early box office projections, revealed yesterday (June 30), "Barbie" is tracking to open much bigger than "Oppenheimer". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. romantic comedy film, based on the iconic Mattel toy line of dolls, is expected to score between $70 million and $80 million in the domestic (North America) opening weekend. ## "Barbie" stars Margot Robbie in the titular role and Ryan Gosling as Ken alongside an ensemble supporting cast that includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. The official premise of the movie states, "After being expelled from the utopian Barbie Land for being a less-than-perfect doll, Barbie and Ken go on a journey of self-discovery to the real world".## Nolan's biographical thriller film "Oppenheimer" is tracking for a domestic debut in the $40 million - $50 million range. If the movie opens in the lower projection, it would be one of the lowest openings for Nolan's film. However, the movie could have long legs as reports say it is one of the finest movies ever made. ## "Oppenheimer" is Nolan's first film not to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures domestically or internationally since "Memento" (2000), as well as his first film to receive an R rating since "Insomnia" (2002). Given the R rating and a direct clash with an equally strong film, the opening between $40 million and $50 million is not that bad for this Universal Pictures pic. ## The movie is about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist who helped develop the first nuclear weapons. Based on the 2005 biography American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. This is the first time that Pawan Kayan and his nephew Sai Dharam Tej are sharing screen space in a feature film. ## Directed by Samuthirakani, "Bro" is the remake of the 2021 Tamil film, Vinodhaya Sitham which was also directed by Samuthirakani. The makers of the upcoming movie launched the teaser on June 29 which received a positive response and generated huge viewership on YouTube. ## In the first 24 hours, the "Bro" teaser scored 25.70 million real-time views on YouTube, which is said to be the all-time record for a straight Telugu movie. The drop is in the expected lines as today was a working day. The movie was released on Thursday, on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, and scored 9.25 crores net. ## SPK is a multiplex-friendly film where it remained strong today while mass belts remained low. The two days collection stands at around 16.50 crores net, and tomorrow and Sunday, the movie will see a big jump as word of mouth is positive. The 4-day opening weekend could be around 38 crores net which will be a good result. ## Meanwhile, the Punjabi movie "Carry on Jatta 3" has historic collections on the second day in a row. According to Box Office Worldwide, Red Chillies Entertainment has sold the music rights of the film to T-Series at a record price of 36 crores. Mumbai, June 30 - Blockbuster Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala and superstar Akshay Kumar surprised fans with the sudden announcement of the fifth installment of their popular comedy franchise "Housefull". ## As reported earlier, "Housefull 5" has been in development for quite some now and the makers finally made it official. The other cast members of the Housefull franchise are expected to join Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh while it will be directed by "Dostana" fame Tarun Mansukhani. ## The makers haven't revealed much details about the upcoming film but they have confirmed that the movie will hit big screens on Diwali 2024. However, it won't be a solo release as there is Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" is already placed during the same holiday period. ## "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3", which will be directed by Anees Bazmee, will start filming early next year. The second installment was released last year and scored a big box office win by grossing over 260 crores worldwide, and was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies of the year.## Both "Housefull" and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" are popular film franchises with a 100% success ratio. While 4 Housefull films have grossed over 785 crores at the worldwide box office, the two BB movies have done business for close to 350 crores. Box Office: Adipurush Records A Very Low Second Week

Mumbai, June 30 - Director Om Raut's magnum opus "Adipurush", which was one of the most hyped films before release, has turned out to be an epic disappointment at the box office after it fell badly in the second week. ## The Prabhas-fronted film recorded a historic fall of over 90% in the second week and scored just approx. 22.50 crores net collection in all versions. The first-week collection of 260 crores net was itself underwhelming considering the excellent opening weekend of 221 crores net. ## The total net collection of the film currently stands at a little over 282 crores (333 crores gross) and it is likely to finish its run under 300 crores net which is disappointing. The collection of Hindi versions is approx. 145 crores net, followed by the Telugu version with approx. 130 crores. The other versions have contributed around 7 crores net. ## "Adipurush" also couldn't hold well at the overseas box office and has grossed approx. 54 crores so far. This takes the total worldwide gross collection of the movie to approx. 387 crores in two weeks. The movie has some competition going forward which could further make it difficult for the film to sustain. The response from audiences has been largely positive and this resulted in huge viewership on YouTube. ## Directed by Abhilash Joshiy, the KOK teaser recorded 9 million views in the first 24 hours on YouTube, which is one of the highest for a Malayalam movie.
