In July month, there are three Hollywood films, Mission Impossible 7, Oppenheimer, and Barbie, which are poised to take very good starts in India and have the potential to emerge big box office winners in a long time. ## Tom Cruise scored success with his last film "Top Gun Maverick" last year in India as the movie grossed over 51 crores while the worldwide collection of the movie is staggering at close to $1.50 billion (12250 crores). ## Cruise's next "Mission Impossible 7" is having a very good buzz among the Indian moviegoers and the movie is likely to take the biggest start in the Mission Impossible franchise. The advance booking of the movie was opened a week ago and the response has been very good.## As of 3.30 pm, on Friday (July 7), "Mission Impossible 7" has sold approx. 175,000 tickets in the three national chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis) for the 5-day opening weekend, including approx. 85,000 tickets for the opening day, Wednesday, July 12.## The advance sales of "MI 7" are solid and it is likely looking to score approx. 100K tickets for the opening day in the national chains only while overall opening day sales should be over 150K tickets.## The last film in the franchise, "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" (2018) has taken the start of 10 crores (biggest so far) in India for 80 crores lifetime score. The 7th installment will easily surpass its predecessor's opening day numbers despite the mid-week release. ## The initial international critics' reviews of "MI7" are exceptional, calling it the best film in the franchise so far. 'Carry on Jatta 3' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Indian Punjabi Movie of All-Time

Mumbai, July 7 - Punjabi superstar Gippy Grewal's comedy "Carry on Jatta 3" has surpassed the lifetime collection of its predecessor to become the highest-grossing Indian Punjabi movie of all time at the worldwide box office. ## Directed by Smeep Kang, the third installment of the blockbuster franchise took just one week to become the biggest Indian Punjabi language movie. In its extended 8-day opening week, COJ3 grossed approx. 65 crores worldwide, surpassing COJ2's lifetime collection of approx. 58 crores to claim the top rank. ## At the domestic box office, COJ3 has grossed approx. 33 crores (~28 crores net) while the overseas collection is 32 crores (estimated) after the first week. It is now the second biggest Punjabi language film ever after the Pakistani movie "The Legend of Maula Jatt" which grossed around INR 80 crores (estimated). ## COJ3 will be eyeing to become the biggest Punjabi grosser as well as the first Punjabi title to reach 100 crores worldwide gross collection. It clashed with Salman Khan's "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" but managed to attract Indian audiences as it grossed over 37 crores. ## The studio is now gearing up for its next horror-thriller "The Nun 2". The 9th installment in The Conjuring Universe franchise and the sequel to "The Nun" (2018), the movie has been announced to release on September 8 this year in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## Directed by Michael Chaves, "The Nun 2" will clash with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" which is scheduled to release on September 7. "Jawan", unlike KKBKKJ, is a far bigger hyped movie that is expected to grab a maximum number of screens in the Hindi belt.## "The Nun 2", meanwhile, is a bigger IP than "Evil Dead Rise" which could help the movie to get some traction despite facing a clash with one of the most anticipated Indian movies. Hyderabad, July 7 - The first teaser/trailer of superstar Prabhas' highly-awaited Pan India movie "Salaar" has taken the internet by storm and has become the most-viewed Indian movie teaser of all time in the first 24 hours. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, the "Salaar" teaser recorded 83 million updated views and 1.67 million likes in the first 24 hours. In fact, it is the first Indian movie teaser to cross the 70 million mark, besting Prabhas' last film "Adipurush" teaser which got 68.9 million. ## Prashanth Neel's "KGF: Chapter 2" teaser is the third most watched with 68.8 million views. However, unlike "Adipurush" and "KGF 2", the teaser of "Salaar" was launched in a single language yet it received a record-breaking response. It was launched early in the morning at 5:12 AM. ## The teaser of "Salaar" got mixed to positive responses from audiences but it has been able to hype up moviegoers with its potential connection with the mega-blockbuster "KGF 2". The trailer of the movie is expected to clear up many things about its connection with the Yash-starrer. California, July 6 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted hugely-anticipated sci-fi epic "Project K" is going global as the makers are gearing up to unveil exclusive footage as well as the title and the release date of the film in the presence of talent at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), according to Variety. ## Vyjayanthi Movies will unveil the first look glimpse of the film at an opening night party on July 19. On July 20, the "Project K" team will host a panel titled "This is Project K: First Glimpse of India's Mytho-Sci-fi Epic" with Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Haasan during which the film's full title, teaser trailer, and release date will be revealed. ## "This exclusive event will transport guests into India's most ambitious cinematic universe yet with their captivating storytelling, futuristic setting, and 'Spice Punk' aesthetic inspired by the film", said producer C. Aswani Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies in a statement. ## Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan among others will also feature in a performance on SDCC's largest stage. It will be the first Indian film to debut at SDCC.## "We are thrilled to present 'Project K's" debut at San Diego Comic-Con. The actor-director duo previously collaborated on two occasions, "3 Idiots" (2008) and "PK" (2014), and now, after almost a decade, they are likely to come together again. ## According to Pinkvilla, Hirani recently discussed a script with Aamir who instantly got excited. The duo have discussed many ideas in the past and it seems, they finally have found one which is said to be a biopic drama film. The report states that even though the discussion between the two at present is at a nascent stage, it seems promising. ## Rajkumar Hirani is presently working on a social comedy-drama film "Dunki" starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Mumbai, July 6 - The second installment of the anthology film "Lust Stories" has opened in the top 10 most-watched non-English films on Netflix. "Lust Stories 2" is consisting of four short film segments directed by R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Amit Ravindernath Sharma, and Sujoy Ghosh. ## The film premiered on June 29 and debuted at number 4 with 4.2 million views. The film, which is 2 hours and 13 minutes long, scored 9.3 million viewing hours in its opening weekend. The anthology received a mixed response from critics and digital audiences. ## "Lust Stories 2" is trending at the number in India as well as in Mauritius, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and UAE while also trending in the top 10 in Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and Singapore on Netflix.## The first segment - "Made For Each Other" of the anthology is directed by R. Balki and stars Mrunal Thakur, Neena Gupta, and Angad Bedi in key roles, followed by Konkona Sen Sharma's segment - "The Mirror" features Tillotama Shome, Amruta Subhash, and Shrikant Yadav. ## Sujoy Ghosh directs "Sex With Ex" featuring Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma, Mukti Mohan, and Jugal Hansraj in the lead while the last segment - "Tilchatta", helmed by Amit Sharma, stars Kajol, and Kumud Mishra in the prominent roles. ## Apart from "Lust Stories 2", director Sudhir Mishra's "Afwaah" also featured in the Netflix top 10 list last weekend with the 9th spot. Los Angeles, July 5 - After creating records with his last film "Top Gun: Maverick", Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is getting ready to conquer the box office again with his upcoming action thriller "Mission: Impossible - Death Reckoning Part 1". It is releasing on July 12 in the US and some other countries. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, "MI 7" is projected to score $90 million in its opening weekend at the domestic (North America) box office, which will be the record in the "Mission Impossible" franchise. Those projections seem to have got sealed and it could potentially open higher after the movie debuts with raving reviews from critics. ## Just a week ahead of the film's release, the review embargo got lifted and the movie opens the perfect 100% score from the first 54 critics' reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a rare feat for a live-action tentpole movie.
