Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2' Plans A Long Promotion Campaign

Mumbai, February 8 - One of the most-awaited and biggest films of the year, "Gadar 2" starring Sunny Deol is getting ready to release during Independence Day 2023 week in theaters worldwide. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie is the sequel to his all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001). ## "Gadar 2" is produced by Anil Sharma Productions in association with Zee Studios. The movie is the continuation of the first part but the story takes a 20-year leap. Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, the makers have planned a long promotion campaign for the film. ## As per a Pinkvilla report, Sunny Deol along with Ameesha Patel will start promotion of the film on February 12 during the Grand Finale of Salman Khan-hosted "Bigg Boss 16". A short teaser glimpse of "Gadar 2" is also expected to be released during the show. ## "Gadar 2 will follow a longer than usual promotional campaign too as the makers are confident in their content and are wishing to position it as an event Hindi film for an Independence Day blast", the report says. ## The movie features Sunny Deol as Tara Singh while Ameesha Patel plays Sakeena and Utkarsh Sharma plays their son Jeete. In "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", Tara Singh went to Pakistan to bring his wife Sakeena and this time, he will go for his son, Jeete. The spy action thriller had surpassed Hollywood tentpoles, grossing a mighty $102.50 million (848 crores) in 13 days at the global box office.## "Pathaan" is currently the 5th highest-grossing film worldwide in 2023, which is one of the rare occasions for an Indian title to find a spot in the top 10. The movie has surpassed all expectations and turned out to be the biggest grosser for the entire primary cast and director Siddharth as well as Yash Raj Films. ## Meanwhile, the top 2 spots among the highest-grossing films this year have been taken by Chinese films - "Full River Red" and "The Wandering Earth 2", which also happen to be the only films so far in 2023 to top $500 million at the box office. ## "Full River Red", a historical suspense comedy film, has grossed approx. $595 million (¥4.05 billion) as of February 6. Los Angeles, February 7 - Phase 5 of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is about to kick off with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" which is slated for February 17 release. Ahead of that, the movie had its world premiere on February 6 at the Regency Westwood Theatre, in Los Angeles. ## While the official review embargo for "Ant-Man 3" breaks on Tuesday, February 14, the early reactions for the world premiere have already started coming on social media. The initial reactions to a Marvel movie have always been mostly positive and things aren't different this time as well, though it suggests there is a different kind of wildness to look out for in the movie. ## Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, "Ant-Man 3" is the 31st film in the MCU. Mumbai, February 6 - Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", after a big second weekend, is sustaining well on its second Monday as collections heading towards the double-digit mark. According to early estimates, the spy actioner scored an estimated around 9-10 crores net, depending on night shows. ## "Pathaan" being a frontloaded film is showing incredible hold on weekdays, keeping the dream of reaching 500 crores net alive. The advance booking collection for Monday was on the lower side but the spot booking remained pretty good, which is expected from a mass blockbuster. ## The second Monday collections of the Siddharth Anand-directed flick will take the total collections to a little over 440 crores net box office mark depending on where the actual second Monday numbers fall. Mumbai, February 5 - Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" had a historic second Saturday at the box office as far as the Bollywood industry is concerned. ## Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Pathaan" scored 23.25 crores net on the second Saturday, which is the second biggest 2nd Saturday of all time for a Bollywood movie. With that, "Pathaan" has crossed 400 crores net mark (all languages) and becomes the first ever Bollywood film to achieve the feat. ## The Hindi version of "Pathaan" has scored 387 crores net, after a strong 22.50 crores on the second Saturday. The movie has now become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever, beating "Dangal" which grossed 374 crores net in the original Hindi version. At the time of writing this piece, "Pathaan" has become has crossed the 400 crores net in the Hindi language alone.## Not just domestically, "Pathaan" is breaking records at the overseas box office as well. It has become the highest-grossing Bollywood movie in the USA. It grossed $1.12 million on the second Saturday, pushing total gross collection to $13.40 million in 11 days. It surpassed Aamir Khan's "Dangal" ($12.39 million) to become the biggest Bollywood movie there.## "Pathaan" is also the highest-grossing Indian in Gulf countries.
