Mumbai, January 27 - Sunny Deol's much-awaited war drama Border 2 is putting up a show at the box office and has emerged as one of the biggest successes of early 2026. Released amid the extended four-day Republic Day weekend, the film has posted big numbers both domestically and overseas. The sequel to the iconic 1997 film has grossed an estimated 210+ crores in India over its first four days, while the overseas markets have contributed around 35 crores. This takes the film's total worldwide gross close to the 250 crores gross mark, a sensational total for a sequel of three decades old blockbuster. The patriotic theme, large-scale war sequences, and Sunny Deol's mass appeal have struck a chord with audiences, especially in the North Indian circuits and mass belts, where occupancies remained exceptionally high throughout the extended weekend. With this performance, Border 2 has already become Sunny Deol's second biggest grosser of all time, surpassing several of his past blockbusters and sitting only behind the historic Gadar 2, which remains his career-best. The weekdays will now be crucial, but given the strong advances for today and positive word of mouth, Border 2 is expected to hold well and continue its dream run at the box office. Stay tuned...
