Prithviraj Teaser: Another Legendary Shot In The Arms Of Akshay Kumar!

Mumbai, November 15 - Yash Raj Films has waited long enough to bring its upcoming slate of films to the theaters, kicking off with "Bunty And Babli 2" on November 19. While YRF will hope to get the success of the sequel, the studio has all its eyes on the biggest film in its confirmed slate, "Prithviraj", of which, the teaser was unveiled on November 15 along with the first look of the primary cast. ## Written and directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, "Prithviraj" stars Akshay Kumar in the role of Hindu Samrat, Prithviraj Chauhan. The first look teaser, which got released without pre-announcement on Nov. 15, introduces Akshay's character as "the lion of Hindustan". Visually stunning, the teaser is all about valor and heroism. It is packed with fight scenes and the background music is the soul of it, which is given by Sanchit Balhara, Ankit Balhara. Manush Nandan takes care of cinematography. ## The film is based on the life of fearless Prithviraj Chauhan, a legendary warrior who fought valiantly against the merciless invader Muhammad of Ghor. Akshay, whose character in the film says "he lived for the Dharam and will die for the same", said that the film is a tribute to Prithviraj Chauhan for his heroism and it is an homage to his unmatched bravery and courage.## "The teaser of Prithviraj captures the soul of the film, the essence of the life of the legendary warrior Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan who knew no fear. The more I read about him, the more I was awed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his glorious life for his country and his values. We have tried to present his life story in the most authentic way possible and the film is a homage to his unmatched bravery and courage", said Akshay.## "Prithviraj" teaser also gives glimpses into the characters of Manushi Chhillar, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood. Manushi, a former Miss World, is making her debut with this film as Prithviraj Chauhan's beloved Sanyogita. Sanjay Dutt plays Kaka Kanha while Sonu Sood essays the role of Chand Bardai, who wrote Prithviraj Raso, on which the movie is based upon. ## It is being seen as the biggest film in Akshay Kumar's career. He has played many iconic roles to remember and Prithviraj could be another shot in his legendary arms. Made on a budget of around Rs. 200 crores, Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films has made sure it lives a big impact on Indian cinema. Mumbai, November 15 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty having an interview tour over the super success of his recently released, "Sooryavanshi", which he held back for more than 18 months to give a theatrical release. The Akshay Kumar-fronted cop-drama is very well accepted by the audiences and everyone has nice things to say about this film. ## However, despite all the love and positive word of mouth from the audiences of every type, there is a certain media group that has been questioning the casting of the villain of a Muslim outfit in the film. In a recent interview with The Quint (via opindia), the journalist pointed out that the 'good Muslim' and 'bad Muslim' scenario in the film is problematic.## Rohit Shetty, however, countered the question with a befitting reply and asked the journalist why no one had a problem when he cast Hindu villains in his previous three cop films. He questioned why the Hindu villains from the previous films were not objected to because of their caste. ## "If I ask you one question... Jaikant Shikre (in Singham) was a Hindu Marathi. Then a second film came where a Hindu godman was there. Then in Simmba, Durva Ranade was a Maharashtrian again. In these three, negative forces were Hindu, why isn't that a problem?" Shetty countered. ## He went on to say when the journalist tried to counter his remarks, "If there is a terrorist who is from Pakistan, what caste will he be?" Shetty said that such controversies had changed his point of view about many journalists. He said, "It changed my point of view of a few journalists whom I used to like. That oh, they are portraying it like I have seen in brackets somebody writing bad Muslims being preached by upper-caste Hindus, which is very wrong. We never thought that way".## The basic plot of "Sooryavanshi" is about Pakistani terrorists plotting more attacks in India after the 1993 Mumbai blasts, and the hero's efforts to stop them. Shetty's cop films have always been centered around celebrating Police for the good work they are doing on the line of duty. Mumbai, November 14 - James Bond "No Time To Die" has crossed a mammoth $700 million at the global box office after $28.5 million worldwide this weekend. It becomes the 2nd Hollywood film, after Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious 9", to reach the milestone during the covid-19 pandemic. It currently stands at $708 million, including $150 million in North America. ## Daniel Craig's swan song as James Bond, "No Time To Die" continued to remain strong at the domestic box office despite being available on PVOD as of this past Tuesday. It grossed $4.62 million in its 6th weekend top $150 million domestic box office. It is likely to cross "A Quiet Place part II" ($160 million) to place fifth during the pandemic. ## "No Time To Die" is currently the 6th highest-grossing film in the Bond franchise at the domestic box office, behind only the 2002 "Die Another Day" ($161M), $167 million in 2006, $168 million in 2008, $304 million in 2012, and $200 million in 2015. Inflation notwithstanding, the 25th Bond film is the 3rd highest at the worldwide BO in the franchise, after "Skyfall" ($1.1 billion), and "Spectre" ($880 million). ## Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed will most likely cross "F9's" global box office total of $721 million, including $549 million overseas, by the end of the next weekend, to become the top-grossing Hollywood film during the pandemic. It has earned $126 million in the United Kingdom so far. In China, it has earned $58 million in the first 17-days of release there. The lifetime global box office run for "No Time To Die" is projected to reach $760 million. ## In the film, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik joining the cast as new characters.## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, November 14 - For the first time since "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" in January 2020, a Bollywood film, "Sooryavanshi", has crossed ₹ 200 crores at the worldwide box office. The biggest Bollywood film after Ajay Devgn-fronted has given a new lease of life to the Hindi film industry that was hit really hard by the covid-19 pandemic. ## "Sooryavanshi", which stars Akshay Kumar in the title role alongside Katrina Kaif as the female lead, reached the box office milestone after just 9 days of release. The film currently stands at ₹ 206.65 crores gross at the worldwide box office, including ₹ 162.65 crores at the India box office. ## Rohit Shetty-directed witnessed a significant growth of 51.54% on the second Saturday as compared to the second Friday for a double-digit figure of ₹ 10.35 crores net. This takes the total India net collection for the film to ₹ 137.84 crores and makes it the sixth highest-grossing film for Akshay Kumar. It also becomes Akshay's 9th highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office. ## "Sooryavanshi" is the continuation and is the 4th film in Shetty's cop universe. It also stars Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh as Singham and Simmba in the extended cameos. On the second Saturday, it got a major contribution from Mumbai, which is running with 50% occupancy in theaters, with ₹ 1.52 crores, followed by NCR with ₹ 1.15 crores. ## The joint production of Reliance Entertainment, Rohit Shetty Picturez, Dharma Productions, and Cape of Good Films, will be aiming to cross ₹ 150 crores net at the domestic box office on the second Sunday (November 14). Los Angeles, November 14 - Yet another outright theatrical title has achieved a box office milestone during the covid-19 pandemic. Sony Pictures' "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" has become the second Hollywood film, after Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings", to go past $200 million at the domestic box office during the health crisis. ## "Venom 2", which stars Tom Hardy in the title role, may not cross "Shang-Chi's" box office record, but it is a great box office milestone, Sony will celebrate. The superhero movie was always meant for theatrical release, and despite other studios were opting for day-and-date release on streamers and in theaters, Sony stuck to the old proven way to release the film and got the result they had wished for. ## Overseas, "Venom 2" is going strong and will cross $430 million by the end of Sunday (November 14). While "Venom 2" is way behind "Venom" (2018) in terms of box office numbers, this is also a fact that the sequel is yet to get a release date in China, where the 2018 film had minted a whopping $269 million, for its $856 million worldwide gross. ## "Venom 2" was originally set for Sept. 17 release but was pushed by a week on Sept. 24 and then Oct. 15 against Universal/Blumhouse/Miramax’s Halloween Kills. All of this changed, with Venom 2 heading to the first weekend of October after Shang-Chi put up fantastic business over Labor Day weekend with a $94.6M 4-day, $75.3M 3-day.## Despite the last-minute change, "Venom 2" opened to the pandemic best over 3-days with $90M. Even better, it was the second-best opening stateside for October title, behind 2019's Joker ($96.2M). Kochi, November 13 - If there is one particular Indian film industry that has been hit badly by the covid-19 pandemic as compared to the others, is the Malayalam film industry. The exhibitors and distributors of Kerala, however, have reasons to be disappointed with Malayalam filmmakers too, who continue to bypass theatrical releases in order to go the digital way. ## While many top Malayalam stars including Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Fahadh Faasil among others have released their films directly on OTT platforms, Dulquer Salmaan waited for nearly a year to release his biographical-crime thriller film, "Kurup" in theaters. Based on the fugitive Sukumara Kurup, the film is produced by Salmaan himself under his banner Wayfarer Films in association with M Star Entertainments. ## The Kerala theater owners and distributors welcomed Salmaan's decision wholeheartedly and decided to give a maximum number of screens in the state as a mark of their gratitude. Salmaan enjoys a loyal fan-following among the Malayalam audiences and his "Kurup" was one of the most-awaited films. Released on November 12, "Kurup" is Malayalam industries' best foot forward to revive the industry and it hasn't disappointed at all. ## Directed by Srinath Rajendran, "Kurup" shattered box office records on an opening day in Kerala as well as overseas box office. It opened with a record ₹ 4.70 crores net for the Malayalam language and ₹ 90 lakhs for the other languages. Overseas, "Kurup" grossed ₹ 11.80 crores on an opening day, including ₹ 6.75 crores in the UAE alone, which is the biggest overseas start for a Malayalam film.## The day 2 box office numbers for "Kurup" are also estimated strong in India with a total of ₹ 6.6 crores gross. Kochi, the biggest market for a Malayalam film, contributed over ₹ 1.10 crores to the total collection in the first two days, which is a great showing, especially knowing the fact that only a 50% seating cap is allowed in Kerala. ## Moreover, "Kurup" has brought the Malayalam film industry back to its strong feet after nearly one and a half years. "Kurup", which also stars Indrajith Sukumaran, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sunny Wayne among others, is one of the first titles lined up to release in the coming months, including the biggest Malayalam film "Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea", starring superstar Mohanlal. Mumbai, November 13 - With no competition at the box office, Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" makes full use of the advantage and continues to be strong through weekdays. After finishing the opening week on high with ₹ 120 crores, Rohit Shetty-directed netted another ₹ 6.83 crores on the second Friday (November 12), helping it reach India's net total of ₹ 127.49 crores in the first 8 days (Fri-Fri).## The second Friday total of "Sooryavanshi" ensured that it entered the top 10 highest-grossing films for Akshay Kumar. The cop-drama jointly stands at number 9 with Rustom, which had netted ₹ 127.49 crores in its lifetime domestic box office run. Today, on the second Saturday, "Sooryavanshi" will leapfrog "Airlift" (128.10 cr.), "Rowdy Rathore" (133.25 cr.), and "Toilet Ek Prem Katha" (134.42 cr.) to become the 6th highest-grossing film for Akshay Kumar. ## "Housefull 4" remains Akshay's top netted film with ₹ 210.30 crores, followed by "Good Newwz" (205.09 cr.), and "Mission Mangal" (203.08 cr.). By the end of the second week, "Sooryavanshi" will cross "Kesari's" lifetime total of ₹ 155.70 crores and by the end of its entire domestic box office run, it will challenge "2.0's" Hindi box office collection ₹ 190.48 cr.## Currently, "Sooryavanshi" is the 56th highest-netted Hindi movie of all time, and 3rd highest in Rohit Shetty's cop universe after "Simmba" (240.3 cr.) and "Singham Returns" (140.6 cr.). Among the highly-anticipated shows, the studio released the first looks at three of Marvel Studios' upcoming shows that include "Moon Knight", "She-Hulk", and "Ms. Marvel". ## Apart from giving the first looks at the aforementioned shows, Disney/Marvel also released an extended action sequence from its next Disney Plus series, "Hawkeye", which is set to debut on the streamer on Nov. 24. The first looks at the Disney+ show released as part of the company's Disney Plus Day celebrations meant to commemorate the second anniversary of the streamer’s launch in 2019.## Here's what Marvel/Disney presented - ## Moon Knight - ## In "Moon Knight" Oscar Isaac plays Marc Spector, who in the comics has dissociative identity disorder and believes himself to be the human avatar of the Egyptian god Khonshu. In the first look teaser, Isaac dons a white, caped costume, ripped from the pages of Moon Knight comics, as he brutally punches a victim on the ground in a dark hallway, illuminated by flickering lights. In a very Batman-esque shot, he jumps across buildings, silhouetted by the glowing crescent moon.## Apart from Oscar Isaac, "Moon Knight" also features Hawke, who is playing a character inspired by cult leader David Koresh, and May Calamawy. It is directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. It was only after that, the others came forward to help the workers, whose bank account balance became decent enough to allow them to survive these tough times".## Rohit Shetty said that he was one of the cine workers and added, "We have worked together and will continue to work together in the future". Chennai, November 12 - Tamil superstar, Suriya is following his own footsteps as far as his movies are concerned. Last year, he created waves with Sudha Kongara-directed "Soorarai Pottru", which was partly inspired by events from the life of Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath. The film won accolades and became one of the top-rated films in the world. ## The Singham actor is once again winning praises, this time for his recently released another hard-hitting film "Jai Bhim", in which, he again played a character inspired by the real-life personality. Interestingly, both "Soorarai Pottru" and "Jai Bhim" were released on Amazon Prime Video. ## Based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Chandru, "Jai Bhim" follows Senggeni and Rajakannu, a couple from the Irular tribe. Rajakannu was arrested by the police and was later missing from the police station. Senggeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice for her husband. Chandru files a habeas corpus case and he refers Rajan case to continue further to find the truth.## While "Soorarai Pottru" was among the top-rated films on IMDb, "Jai Bhim" takes a step further and becomes the top-rated film in the world, beating the Oscar-winning film "The Godfather" (1972), and the cult prison drama "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994).
