Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-starrer Records Near 100 Crore Third Weekend

Mumbai, December 20 - Ranveer Singh-fronted spy actioner continues to extend its record-breaking spree, which began after the first week. The Aditya Dhar's directorial, after blasting the record second week by a long margin, carried the momentum into the third weekend to break more records. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film kicked off its third weekend with a record Friday of 22.50 crores net, almost 70% more than the previous record holder, Chhaava. On the third Saturday, Dhurandhar recorded an unheard +50% jump over Friday, collecting approximately 34.25 crores net, which is another record third Saturday collection. The extremely positive word of mouth was always going to fuel more fire on Sunday with another growth. According to early trends, Dhurandhar scored 38-40 crores net on the third Sunday, finishing the third weekend with almost 100 crores net, at around 95 crores net, which is a record for any film in Hindi. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In fact, the third weekend collection of Dhurandhar is higher than the entire third week collection of all movies but Pushpa 2: The Rule's 103 crores net. With momentum, which continues to grow, Dhurandhar will most likely outgross Pushpa 2's entire third week's total by Monday itself. Dhurandhar has topped 550 crores net through the third weekend, scoring 555 crores net. It is currently the second biggest Hindi net grosser of the year, and will take the number 1 spot by the third Tuesday by beating Chhaava's 585 crores domestic haul in Hindi. Stay tuned...

Avatar Fire and Ash Box Office: The Sci-Fi Epic Tops 50 Crore Gross In 2 Days In India

Mumbai, December 20 - James Cameron's long-awaited sci-fi spectacle Avatar: Fire & Ash, the third instalment in the blockbuster franchise, opened to an underwhelming response at the Indian box office. The film collected 23.25 crore ($2.6 million) on its opening day, which is nearly half of what Avatar: The Way of Water earned on Day 1 in India in 2022. The film's opening day box office potential was cut short by Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which is currently dominating the box office. Fire & Ash needed a big jump on its second day to remain competitive. While the figures are well below the franchise's previous benchmark, the film did manage a decent growth of around 15% on Saturday, offering some relief. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) There were doubts whether the film could register an upward trend after its not-so-good start, especially with Dhurandhar continuing its rampage at the box office, and it did. According to early estimates, Avatar: Fire & Ash earned in the range of 27 crore on Day 2, pushing its total India gross past the 50 crore mark. In comparison, Avatar: The Way of Water had amassed 100 crore within its first two days in India, placing the latest instalment about 50% behind at the same point. The opening weekend is now expected to close at around 75+ crore gross, a respectable figure by conventional standards, but undeniably underwhelming considering the legacy and expectations attached to the Avatar franchise. Note - Data without 3D charges. With 3D charges, the 2-day collection of Avatar 3 is around 54 crores gross. Stay tuned...

Dhurandhar Box Office: Ranveer Singh-fronted Becomes The Second Fastest To Hit 500 Crore Net In Hindi

Mumbai, December 20 - Director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar continues its historic march at the box office, entering the historic 500 crores net club in Hindi and becomes the fastest outright Bollywood film of all-time to do so. The Ranveer Singh-fronted spy actioner hit the milestone on its 16th day. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Dhurandhar is the second fastest Hindi movie to reach the milestone, bettered only by Allu Arjun-fronted Telugu blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule, which set the record by crossing 500 crore net in 11 days. Among the Bollywood films, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan was previously the fastest, with 18 days taken to breach the milestone. The achievement further cements Dhurandhar's status as one of the biggest theatrical phenomena in recent years. The film has displayed extraordinary momentum, especially during its second week. Strong weekend surges, packed theatres across mass circuits, and sustained urban footfalls have powered the film past the landmark figure at a better pace than other Bollywood titles. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film has struck a chord with audiences nationwide, thanks to the powerful performances and intense narrative. Word of mouth has remained consistently strong, translating into repeat viewership and exceptional holds on weekdays, a key factor behind the film's rapid climb to 500 crore net. With this milestone, Dhurandhar also becomes the first film of Ranveer Singh to enter the 500 crores net club, surpassing his previous biggest blockbusters by a considerable margin. The film's dominance at the domestic box office has been mirrored overseas as well, where it continues to post robust numbers. S. Avatar Fire and Ash Box Office: James Cameron's Epic Opens To Half of Avatar Way of Water's Collection In India

Mumbai, December 20 - James Cameron's highly-awaited sci-fi action adventure Avatar: Fire & Ash debuted at the Indian box office on December 19, but it couldn't ignite fire on its opening day, landing 50% less than its predecessor, Avatar: Way of Water. Back in 2022, Way of Water had a monstrous start at the Indian box office, grossing close to 50 crores in all versions. Fire and Ash was carrying good hype and was expected to land in the same range, which didn't happen. Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar proved to be a big obstacle as it continued its blockbuster on the third Friday. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As per early estimates, Avatar 3 has grossed approximately 23.25 crores ($2.6 million) on its opening day at the Indian box office. While the numbers are no means less for a foreign title, it is definitely underwhelming for the franchise, considering the immense popularity it has generated over the years, and also for director James Cameron. The initial word of mouth for the film is decent, but as said, it is up against a volcano like Dhurandhar, which is clearly overshadowing other titles at the moment. Fire & Ash is expected to see some momentum over the weekend, but it will be tough for it to see bigger jumps due to Dhurandhar. Stay tuned...

Rajinikanth's Padayappa First Week Collection Worldwide

Chennai, December 19 - The iconic blockbuster of Tamil cinema, Padayappa, was re-released in cinemas on the occasion of superstar Rajinikanth's 75th birthday, and it has scored a superb opening week collection at the worldwide box office. It was Tamil cinema's highest-grossing film when it was originally released in 1999. The action drama had a fantastic opening weekend with approximately 11+ crore gross worldwide, after taking the opening of around 4 crores gross. Normally, re-release films, especially South Indian films, don't perform after day 1, but Padayappa proved to be different by staying throughout the weekend. The film maintained its consistency on weekdays as well, and closed out the opening weekend with around 16 crore worldwide. In India, Padayappa has grossed in the range of 13.25+ crores, including 11.75 crores in Tamil Nadu. These are very good numbers for a re-release title. Padayappa is a landmark Tamil film, directed by K. S. Ravikumar, produced by Arunachala Cine Creations, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. It was the penultimate release of legendary Sivaji Ganesan. The film is celebrated for its powerful storytelling, iconic performances, and memorable soundtrack. Stay tuned...

Directed by Dhananjay Shankar, Bha Bha Ba delivered a big opening day of 7.20 crores gross as the second biggest Mollywood title in the state, behind only Mohanlal's Empuraan (14+ crores gross), and tied with Odiyan, which is also a Mohanlal-starrer, practically making it a hat-trick for the megastar. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Overall, the Dileep-fronted had the fifth biggest opening in Kerala, after Empuraan, Leo (12 crore), Coolie (9.75 crores) and KGF: Chapter 2 (7.30 crores). Additionally, Bha Bha Ba grossed approximately 70 lakh in the rest of India market, making it a 7.90 crores gross opening domestically. It is also only the 17th Malayalam film of all-tiem and the fifth of 2025 to score double digit opening at the worldwide box office. Stay tuned

Dhurandhar Box Office Day 15 Estimates: The Spy Actioner Begins Third Weekend With Exceptional Hold

Mumbai, December 19 - Ranveer Singh-fronted spy actioner has kicked off its third weekend with an exceptional hold, scoring in the range of the second Thursday collection. The film is in the territory of insanity, where it is shattering records for fun on day wise basis. According to early estimates, the Aditya Dhar's directorial is heading to score 22-23 crores net collection on its third Friday (Day 15). Needless to say, it is the biggest third Friday ever in Hindi, beating Chhaava's 13 crores net by a massive margin of around 70%. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Dhurandhar practically had no major competition in the second week, but it was welcomed by James Cameron's Avatar: Fire & Ash, the third instalment of the Avatar franchise, which has had a strong box office history in India. However, even Cameron failed to stop Dhurandhar's juggernaut, and is likely to remain the number 1 movie this weekend as well. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The total collection of the film stands at around 482 crores net in 15 days, set to enter the 500 crores net club by tomorrow to become only the 9th film of all-time to hit the mark in Hindi. The third weekend is expected to be in the range of 80 crores net, which will be a record third weekend in Hindi. As reported earlier, Dhurandhar is almost locked for 700+ crores net, especially given the long holiday period ahead. It needs to be seen if it can go on to beat Pushpa 2: The Rule's 800+ crores net and become the biggest Hindi net grosser, once this holiday period is over. Stay tuned...

Avatar Fire And Ash Box Office: James Cameron's Sci-Fi Projected To Open With $350 Million Worldwide

Mumbai, November 18 - Releasing amid the burden of massive expectations, James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash has begun its international rollout on Wednesday, and the final box office projections suggest that the film is heading to open between Avatar and Avatar: Way of Water worldwide. According to Variety, Avatar 3 is poised to open with $90 million to $105 million from 3,800 theatres at the domestic box office, while it is expected to collect another $250 million to $275 million internationally for a global opening weekend between $340 million to $365 million. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) For the record, the original Avatar opened to $232 million worldwide in 2009, while Way of Water debuted with $441 million. So, if the projection holds, Avatar Fire and Ash are set to open between two of the highest-grossing films worldwide. There is a lot of pressure on Fire & Ash to deliver at the box office as each of the previous two films of this sci-fi franchise grossed well over $2 billion. It is worth remembering that Avatar films, apart from opening to big numbers, are known for their incredible staying power at the box office. Avatar debuted to $77 million domestically and held onto the No. 1 spot for seven weeks, eventually climbing to $760 million in North America and $2.92 billion worldwide (including re-runs). It is currently the highest-grossing film ever globally. Avatar 2 debuted with $134 million in North America, and went on to gross $688 million and $2.3 billion worldwide. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) It needs to be seen how Avatar: Fire & Ash will perform over the weeks and follow the same path as its predecessors. If the film manages to stay true to the franchise's staying power, Avatar could become the first film franchise in history with three instalments to earn above $2 billion. Currently, it is tied with MCU's two $2 billion mega hits, 2019's Avengers: Endgame and 2018's Avengers: Infinity War. In India, Avatar 3 is scheduled to release on December 19 in multiple languages. The advances for the movie are decent here, with projections suggesting 30+ crores ($3.5+ million) opening day. Avatar: Way of Water opened to nearly 50 crores gross in 2022, and went on to gross around 500 crores in its lifetime run. Stay tuned...

Top 5 A-Rated Indian Films At Worldwide Box Office: Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar Tops The Chart

Mumbai, December 25 - Indian cinema has seen big results at the box office over the last few years, with many films crossing the 500 crores milestone. It used to be a rarity before the COVID pandemic, but with audiences craving for big-ticket entertainers with solid theatrical appeal, the milestone is no longer out of reach. While crossing the half-billion mark might not be a big ask anymore, films with A-ratings have always walked a tightrope at the box office. With restricted audiences, limited family footfalls, and often polarising themes, breaking records in the adult-certified space is no easy feat. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Yet, every once in a while, a film comes along that defies the odds, rewriting the rules of what an A-rated Indian film can achieve commercially. Well, this has happened a few times over the last couple of years, where multiple A-rated titles achieved big success at the box office, proving that audiences are ready to embrace such films if they are worthy of their time and money. Here are the top 5 highest-grossing Indian films at the worldwide box office - 1. Dhurandhar (Hindi, 2025) - 944+ crore (20 days) Director - Aditya Dhar Starring - Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi Still in theatres and still breathing fire, Dhurandhar is rewriting the narrative in real time. Powered by ferocious performances, raw action, and an uncompromising tone, the film has already crossed massive global milestones by becoming the all-time biggest A-rated grosser. It is now marching towards 1000 crores gross milestone. 2. Animal (Hindi, 2023) - 915 crore Director - Sandeep Reddy Vanga Starring - Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Violent, divisive, and relentless, the action drama rooted in father-son sentiments, Animal, went against the regular filmmaking and bulldozed its way to the top with an unprecedented worldwide gross, proving that controversy can fuel commerce when executed with scale and conviction. It remains the gold standard for A-rated dominance. 3. Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire (Telugu, 2023) - 618 crores Director - Prashanth Neel Starring - Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumara, Shruti Haasan A dark, violent, and thunderous action spectacle, Salaar: Ceasefire was largely believed to have underperformed at the box office despite big numbers. However, despite its A-rating, the Prabhas-led film stormed the worldwide box office, driven by massive openings across multiple territories and sustained mass appeal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) 4. Coolie (Tamil, 2025) - 518 crores Director - Lokesh Kanagaraj Starring - Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Aamir Khan The film surprised with its adult-rating, which eventually proved to be a roadblock for its overall potential. Coolie, headlined by superstar Rajinikanth, combined raw storytelling with commercial sensibilities. The film received mixed word of mouth, which helped it to cross the 500 crores milestone. 5. Kabir Singh (Hindi, 2019) - 377 crores Director - Sandeep Reddy Vanga Starring - Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani The film that changed the game before the era of mega-scale A-rated actioners. Kabir Singh thrived on its obsessive romance, flawed protagonist, and intense emotional pitch, becoming the highest-grossing adult-certified film of its time and laying the foundation for what followed.
