Cricket Fraternity Reacts On Racial Abuses During The 3rd Test Between Australia And India

The Indian team management has lodged a complaint after two players - Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj being subjected to racial abuse by spectators during the third Test against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). ## A bunch of crowds passed racial remarks on Bumrah and Siraj during the 3rd and 4th days of play. The play was halted for a few minutes on the fourth day of the third Test after pacer Mohammed Siraj complained of abuse from a section of the crowd, leading to the expulsion of some spectators and an unreserved apology from the host board. ## Taking this matter seriously, the ICC on Sunday sought an action taken report from the host country's cricket board, "The International Cricket Council (ICC) has strongly condemned reported incidents of racism during the ongoing third Test match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground and have offered Cricket Australia all necessary support in investigating the incidents", the apex body said in a statement. ## Team India captain Virat Kohli has called the incident "unacceptable" and said that this "incident needs to be looked at with absolute urgency and seriousness and strict action against the offenders should set things straight for once". ## The incident needs to be looked at with absolute urgency and seriousness and strict action against the offenders should set things straight for once.— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) January 10, 2021 ## Reacting to the same, Cricket Australia said in a statement that it has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory behavior in all forms following the alleged racial abuse of members of the Indian cricket squad by a section of the crowd at the SCG yesterday. ## Cricket Australia has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards discriminatory behaviour in all forms following the alleged racial abuse of members of the Indian cricket squad by a section of the crowd at the SCG yesterday. There is no place for this rubbish. Never understood the need to yell abuse at players on a sporting field.. If you’re not here to watch the game and can’t be respectful, then pls don’t come and spoil the atmosphere. #AUSvIND— VVS Laxman (@VVSLaxman281) January 10, 2021 ## Breaking: I am appalled to say Siraj was called a brown dog today in Sydney. This is what was said today morning to go with all the other abuse. Just throwing the spectators out isn’t enough. We need some real action if we have to stop this. Watch @SportsTodayofc 5@5 for more.— Boria Majumdar (@BoriaMajumdar) January 10, 2021 ## Disappointing to see that my teammates were subjected to racial abuse repeatedly in Sydney. From Akshay Kumar To Saif Ali Khan, Times When Top Bollywood Heroes Go Bad On Screen

Be it Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan Priyanka Chopra, or anyone else, the audience has loved their heroes turn bad in films. On their part, Bollywood biggies have loved exploring the dark side on the screen, too in fact, according to trade analyst Girish Johar, it becomes a deadly combination when heroes play negative roles in the movies as they carry their own fan-following and it thrills their fans. ## Not just for an entertainment level, but for business-wise too, such casting makes an impact, with two heroes in the film, at the two ends of the good and evil spectrum. However, according to Johar who told IANS, "this does not mean that every hero can be a villain? At the end of the day, it's an actor who is portraying a particular character. So it all depends on the character, and how the actor brings it alive on the screen". ## Here is the list of the Top Bollywood stars who showed their villainous side on screen in recent years ## Akshay Kumar ## Akshay Kumar has made a big impact on the audience through his heroic roles. However, there have been times when he presented his villainous side which too was loved by his fans. His character Vikram in "Ajnabee" (2001) created obstacles in the lives of Raj (Bobby Deol) and Priya (Kareena Kapoor). Then in 2018, he got back to being a villain on-screen in the Rajinikanth-starrer "2.0". Akshay has mostly featured in films with patriotic themes or stories with a social cause in recent times, and as the bird-lover Pakshi Rajan in "2.0" he was a villain with a cause.## Aamir Khan ## Known as Mr. Prefectnist, Aamir Khan has portrayed memorable roles as a hero in movies like Raja Hindustani, Sarfarosh, Lagaan, 3 Idiots, PK, and many more. It was his 2006 release, Fanaa in which he played a negative role for the first time in which he played the role of a Kashmiri insurgent, Rehaan Qadri. Later in Dhoom 3, Aamir again played a lead antagonist in a dual role as Sahir and Samar Iqbal Khan. ## Ranveer Singh ## One of the most lively and happening actors in Bollywood, Ranveer Singh stole the show for his character of menacing Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial "Padmaavat", which released in 2018. Ranveer has acted as a romantic hero, a courageous cop, and a historical warrior on his way to superstardom but he made Bhansali's Khilji an extremely laudable act with his menacing screen presence. ## Saif Ali Khan ## Back in 2006, he won the audience and critics' love with his portrayal of the vile Langda Tyagi in "Omkara". Last year, he impressed in "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" portraying Aurangzeb's royal guard Udaybhan Singh Rathore who was pitted against Ajay Devgn's Tanhaji Malusare. And now, he will back as a villain in Om Raut's directorial magnum opus "Adipurush", starring Telugu star Prabhas. Saif has described the project as "phenomenal" adding that he looks forward "to clashing swords with the mighty Prabhas and to play a role that is electrifying and demonic". ## Sanjay Dutt ## One of the finest actors, Sanjay Dutt has played negative roles with almost perfection. He scored as the menacing Kancha in "Agneepath" (2012) and is back to evil ways this year with "KGF Chapter 2". After the teaser release, Dutt's fans are excited to see him as the antagonist Adheera in the film. He has played negative roles in "Panipat" and "Khalnayak", too, in the past. He has said Adheera is "one of the craziest characters I have played so far", describing the character as "fearless, powerful and ruthless". ## John Abraham ## There are unconfirmed reports on John playing the role of the villain in the upcoming film "Salaar", which also stars Prabhas. While he is yet to comment on it, fans would recall that John made a smashing antihero in "Dhoom" (2004) and "Race 2" (2013). ## Vicky Kaushal ## After impressing the audience with performances in "Masaan", "Sanju" and "Uri: The Surgical Strike", Vicky Kaushal will be seen as Aurangzeb in Karan Johar's upcoming multistarrer "Takht". The historical drama revolves around Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh, and their fight for the throne.## Stay tuned...

Financial Issues Put Telugu Movie 'Krack' On Hold

It turned out to be an anti-climax for the Telugu movie, Krack which was supposed to hit theaters today, on Saturday (January 9). Produced by reputed producer, Tagore B Madhu, 'Krack' was all set to be Ravi Teja's biggest release before it got into trouble due to a financial clash between the makers and distributors. ## The issue is related to the Tamil film Ayogya which was also produced by Tagore B Madhu a year and a half ago. Ayogya's failure at the box office and the ensuing debts are being cited as the reason behind Krack's financial tussle which has put the movie on hold. ## Due to the clash, première shows in the United States and the morning shows in India were canceled with the hope that the issue will get resolved by the afternoon. However, the uncertainty continues as the rescheduled press show in the afternoon also stood canceled even though a few of the cinema halls premiered the movie. ## While the talks are still on, according to the latest regional reports, the movie might start premiering tonight in theaters. The official confirmation is yet to be made. ## The film directed by Gopichand Malineni stars Ravi Teja as a cop, and Shruti Haasan plays the female lead. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Samuthirakani are also cast to play key roles in this action-thriller. ## Stay tuned...

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Allows 100% Occupancy In Cinema Halls; Tamil Nadu Government Withdraws Its Order After Centre's Objection

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has permitted 100% seating capacity in cinema halls/ theaters during the week-long Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which was inaugurated on Friday (January 8). Currently, theaters in West Bengal and other states are operating with 50% occupancy in a view to the covid-19 pandemic. ## "At present, because of the pandemic, only 50% occupancy in cinema halls is allowed. I would ask the state’s chief secretary to come up with a notification today so that 100% seats can be occupied", Banerjee said while addressing the inauguration of the 26th edition of the KIFF. ## "I would urge cinema hall owners to ensure that people wear face masks and use hand sanitizers. Sanitization should be done after every show. Every audience should carry their own sanitizer or tissue paper. Nowadays you also get machines with which you can sanitize the entire hall in just five minutes", she added.## Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Tamil Nadu government which had issued a similar order to increase the occupancy in cinemas, theatres, and multiplexes to 100% capacity on January 4, has withdrawn its decision after centre's objection. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) objected TN government's order to increase occupancy and asked the state government to revoke its order saying it diluted the guidelines issued by the MHA. ## However, the TN government has allowed theaters to screen extra shows. In October 2020, the Union Ministry had allowed theatres to operate at 50% occupancy and the same has been extended till January 31, 2021.## The announcement from the Tamil Nadu government to increase occupancy in cinema halls came a week after actor Vijay and the team of the upcoming film Master met with the TN Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Reportedly, during the meeting, they requested to allow 100 % seating capacity in theatres ahead of the release of their film. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master will be released on January 13.## Stay tuned...
