Movies And Web Series Airing Military Content Will Have to Get NOC From Ministry Of Defence Now On

After many complaints and objections received from the concerned citizens, the Ministry of Defence has taken a big step against the movies and web series that air military content. From now on, any kind of content on the military will have to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) or clearance from the Ministry of Defence. ## The Ministry of Defence has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Ministry of I&B) to advise production houses to obtain NOC from them before telecasting any film/documentary/web series on army theme in the public domain. The letter was sent by the Ministry of Defence on July 27. ## "In some of the web series like 'Code M' on Zee 5 and 'XXX Uncensored (season-2)' on ALT Balaji, the scenes related to the Army are far from reality and present a distorted image of the Armed Forces," said a senior government official as reported by News 18. ## The step to make obtaining NOC mandatory has been taken after much deliberation. Sources further pointed out that this has been done "to curtail the incidents which distort the image of the defence forces and hurt the sentiments of the defence personnel and veterans", reported News 18.## The military has been very particular about its image and the content projected in different web series or documentaries or movies. Bollywood films on the military go through a mandatory clearance process. However, with increased OTT platforms, the military feels that it needs to moderate any possible alleged negative depiction of the uniform.## Stay tuned...

Former India captain Anil Kumble reveals that team India wanted to withdraw from the 2007-08 Australia tour after Harbhajan Singh was suspended for 3 matches following the 'Monkeygate' incident. However, the team later changed their mind and decided that the best approach would be to try and draw the four-Test series by winning the third and fourth matches. ## During the second test match in Sydney, off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, and Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds were involved in verbal wrangling during which the off-spinner allegedly leveled a racist remark against Symonds. The incident led to Harbhajan's suspension for 3-matches before it was overturned on an appeal later. ## Anil Kumble who was the captain of Indian test team then said during a conversation with Ravichandran Ashwin on his YouTube channel that, "You know as a captain you're generally tuned to take decisions on the field".## "Here I was faced with something, which was off the field, to take a decision in the larger interest of the game. And one of our players [Harbhajan Singh] was obviously banned for three matches because of a racist remark – that was what the pronouncement was and we appealed".## "I felt he was wronged. We had to obviously be together as a team but the challenge was that there was a lot of talk about the team wanting to come back at that point in time. Yes, you know, probably [people] would have accepted that the Indian team was wronged and that’s why they came back".## He further said that even they wanted to withdraw but decided to stay as they thought this would be the best message that they can give back to their fans. ## "I think as a captain, or as a team, we had gone there to win the series. Unfortunately, with the first two results not going our way, the best result could have been a drawn series because two more Test matches remained, and I just wanted to rally around the team. I was fortunate enough to have senior players, former captains, in the team".## "We got around as a unit and then we sort of took a decision to continue, and make sure that we go on and win the next couple of matches because that would be the best message that we can give back to our fans. The much-awaited and highly anticipated biopic of the great mathematician, Shakuntala Devi finally premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 31. Written and directed by Anu Menon, the biopic stars Vidya Balan as Shakuntla Devi, who was also known as the "human computer" along with Sanya Malhotra, Jisshu Sengupta, and Amit Sadh. ## Movie Story -## The story of the movie revolves around Shakuntla Devi and her daughter Anupama Banerjee (Sanya Malhotra). Shakuntla Devi who lived her life on her own terms faced many troubles and challenges on her way to becoming a human-computer. But when she tries to run her ambitions on her daughter who is similar yet very different from her, it leads to an emotional breakdown between the mother and daughter which will leave the viewers with moist eyes and makes the film interesting to watch. The film, however, is a perfect tribute to the great mathematician. ## Movie Review -## It is a Vidya Balan movie all the way and there is no surprise at all. She has been a perfect choice to portray the role of Shakuntla Devi and with no surprise, she produced the standout performance. It wasn't easy to play the character which has already its aura, but Vidya Balan breathed life into Shakuntala Devi's character with her award-winning performance. If you have watched Vidya Balan's previous movies, you will find that her nature is the mixture of emotions, and easy-going. That mixture has come into this movie and it did work brilliantly for her. She will leave the viewers with moist eyes when it comes to emotional parts especially towards the end. ## Sanya Malhotra as a rebellious daughter (on-screen of course) has done a wonderful and appreciated job. Her love-hate relationship with her mother is something that makes this biopic interesting while their chemistry is relaxing to the eyes which makes you laugh as well as left with teary eyes. It won't be an exaggeration to say that this is by far the best performance of just 5 movies old Sanya Malhotra. ## Talking about Amit Sadh who plays the role of Anupama's husband Ajay Abhaya Kumar done a pretty good job while Jisshu Sengupta as Shakuntla's husband also did decently well according to the narrative of the film. ## Anu Menon as a director has done a very good job and has been looked very clear about the vision of the film. She handled the emotional parts with maturity despite a lot of drama towards the end of the movie. However, as they say, a movie can not be made with perfection, this happened to this as well. The screenplay which makes a film catchable looked a bit slow. There are some sequences which stretched out that you will feel were not needed. ## Conclusion+Verdict -## Despite a few moments here and there, the movie is appalling and will make you watch with your family and friends. It is a well-made biopic with high-quality performances from the cast of the movie. But as a movie buff, I would have loved to experience this film on the big screen and I am sure you all must be thinking the same.## However, it is still a movie that you don't want to miss. But he later dropped out of the film because of his dream project 'Mahabharat'.## After Amir Khan denied the film, Shah Rukh Khan replaced him to play the titular role before he too abandoned the project after his late 2018 release 'Zero' crashed at the box office. After SRK too didn't show any interest in the movie, it went on to many actors like Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput but nothing worked. ## And now, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the makers have approached Farhan Akhtar to play the lead role of Rakesh Sharma.
