Dhawan, Williamson overshadowed Pant's ton

Rishabh Pant's maiden IPL ton went in vain as Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson's unbeaten 176-run stand off 102 balls for the second wicket helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to beat Delhi Daredevils by 9-wickets at Firoz Shah Kotla, Delhi on Wednesday (May 10).##Delhi Daredevils after winning the toss, post a big total of 187 after 20 overs. Thanks to Pant's 128* off 63 balls. But Dhawan and Williamson overshadowed Pant's blitzing knock by the 176-runs stand. SRH chased down the target comfortably in the end with 7 balls to spare.##The Rishabh Pant show at Kotla##Delhi Daredevils decision to bat after winning toss seemed to backfire them as they lost first three wickets on 43 inside 8 overs. But it was Pant who not only help DD to recover from those early blows but also gave them a total that was not looking even near after first 10 overs. Pant didn't take much time to get going despite DD kept losing wickets. He hit three back to back boundaries to Siddarth Kaul. However, after hitting those boundaries, he stuck to 1s and 2s in next 3-4 overs. But once the halfway mark crossed, he started hitting again and never looked back after that. He took on number 1 T20 bowler Rashid Khan in his second over for 15 runs. He reached to his fifty with a six to Shakib Al Hasan. He celebrated this with a six to Kaul in next over followed by a four and six to Rashid Khan. But the highlight of his innings was those hit which he hit to Bhuvneshawar Kumar in 18th and 20th over. In those overs, he collected 43 runs off 11 balls with 4 sixes and 4 fours. While in this process, he reached to his maiden IPL century off just 56 balls and became the second youngest to score an IPL century.##However, despite Pant's 128, none of the other batsmen could contribute much. He single-handedly lifted DD to 187 after 20 overs.##Dhawan and Williamson made 188 a cake walk##Sunrisers Hyderabad needed a solid start to win this match but Harshal Patel provided Delhi a big breakthrough as he got Alex Hales out LBW in second over on 15. Hales scored 14 off 10 with three fours. However, it was the only wicket DD could manage as Dhawan and skipper Williamson didn't give any chance going further in this match. Both Dhawan and Williamson played their shots in the gap without taking any risk. None of the DD pacers could able to put pressure on either player. Dhawan reached to his fifty off 30 balls with the help of boundary to Harshal Patel. Without taking too much risk, he was able to get boundaries on regular basis. However, he celebrated his fifty with two sixes to Shahbaz Nadeem in 13th over.##On the other hand, Williamson was calmer and composed than Dhawan. He was playing a supporting role of Dhawan but somehow he was able to find boundaries. However, he reached to his fifty off just 37 balls with a boundary to Trent Boult. He changed his gear after fifty and hit a six and four to Plunket and Patel in next two overs. He hit winning runs by hitting back to back fours to Boult and finished the game with more than one over to spare. Both Dhawan and Williamson remained not out on 92 and 83 respectively. Dhawan awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning knock.##No mercy for bowlers on such day##It was one of those days when no bowler wants to bowl. When Rishabh Pant was batting, he took every bowler all over the park. But despite being the merciless day for bowlers, Shakib Al Hasan and Sandeep Sharma were the only bowlers whose economy rate was under seven. Shakib who removed both the DD's openers conceded only 27 runs in 4 overs. While Sandeep Sharma gave away only 24 runs in 4 overs without taking a wicket. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who gave just 7 runs in first two overs, went for 44 runs in his last two overs. His figure 4-0-52-1 is the second worst figure in IPL.##On the other hand, none of the DD's bowler could make his mark and went for plenty. Trent Boult conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs while Liam Plunket went for 41 runs in 4 overs. The only successful bowler was Patel who dismissed Hales, given away 32 runs in 4 overs.##Achievements for the players##Rishabh Pant becomes the youngest player to reach 1000 IPL runs (20y 218d). ## Pant is the only second youngest player to score IPL century (First was Manish Pandey). ## 176* is the only 3rd-century stand for SRH in which Warner wasn't involved (All three is between Dhawan and Williamson). ##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.

Ruthless MI stunned Knight Riders

Mumbai Indians, after disappointing first half in this IPL, back to win third consecutive match as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by big margin of 102-runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday (May 9). With the help of this win MI moved up to number 4 for the first time in this IPL.## It was the must-win game for Mumbai Indians to stay alive in this tournament and they won it with the bang. MI posted 210 runs on board after sizzling knock of 62 off 21 balls by Ishan Kishan. And then MI's bowlers did the job by bowled out KKR on 108 in 18.1 overs. Ishan Kishan awarded Man Of The Match for his sensational knock.## Ishan Kishan show at the Eden Gardens## After winning the toss, KKR invited MI to bat first. MI started well and put on a 47-run for the first wicket. However, Piyush Chawla got two wickets in two successive overs and left MI to 62 for 2 after 9 overs. Then it was all Ishan Kishan show at Kolkata. He started his innings with a six to Kuldeep Yadav only on second ball he faced. He followed the six with three boundaries to Chawla in next over. That over gave momentum to his innings and he never looked back after that. He hit two boundaries to Andre Russell and Prasidh Krishna, one to each in next two overs. But his take on to Kuldeep Yadav in next over was the highlight of his innings where he hit 4 back to back sixes to Yadav and reached to his fifty in only 17 balls. However, he couldn't control his shots and got out Narine after hitting six in the previous ball. Before he got out, he scored 62 off 21 balls including 5 fours and 6 sixes. Later in the innings, Ben Cutting's quickfire cameo of 24 off 19 balls help MI to reach to 210 after 20 overs.## Too much reliance on spinners, let down KKR## Spinners have always been the strength of KKR. But in this match, they were taken all-around the park. However, their ever-reliable Sunil Narine bowled a decent spell of 4 overs 1 for 27 but other two had a horrible night with the ball. First Ishan Kishan took on Kuldeep for 5 sixes of his balls and then Ben Cutting came hard on Chawla in last over of the innings in which MI scored 22 runs. Kuldeep couldn't complete his spell and given away 43 runs in 3 overs without taking any wicket while Chawla after bowled excellent first two overs, went for 48 runs in 4 overs and took 3 wickets.## Target of 211 proved too big for KKR## Chasing 211, was always going to tough for KKR. Still they were hoping that their openers will provide them a solid start. But on such day where nothing went KKR way, their openers too fell quick . Narine after hitting boundary of the first ball of the innings, got out on next ball to Mitchell McClenaghan. Robin Uthappa tried to break the shekels after hitting 2 sixes to Krunal and Bumrah. But he ran out his Partner Chris Lynn in a bit of Yes-No confusion. Lynn made 21 off 15 balls. Two overs later, Mayank Markande dismissed Uthappa after scoring 14 off 13 balls. After that none of the other batsmen shown good intent and kept losing wickets. And they fumbled out on 108 with 11 balls to spare.## Mumbai Indians bowled really well and didn't allow KKR to came back in game. Pandya brothers were the star with ball and picked two wickets each. Each of their bowlers took at least 1 wicket. It was a collective effort by MI bowlers.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.

Rajasthan Royals survive KL Rahul special

KL Rahul's fine form continued but his 95* off 70 balls went in vain as Rajasthan Royals beat Kings XI Punjab by 15-runs in a must-win game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Tuesday (May 8). With this win, Royals found themselves on sitting 6th spot in points table.##Royals Ride on Jos Buttler's third consecutive fifty-plus score and set a target of 159 for KXIP. Rahul was the lone warrior in runs chase but his effort didn't prove enough to get his team through to the line.## Jos Buttler- Better late than never## It was out of thinking to send Buttler middle in the batting order in first seven matches as it was not helping RR at all. However, they soon realized their mistake and promoted him up as a opener. And since then he has scored 67, 51, and 82 in last three matches.##In this match, he led Royals to just about par score with 82 off 58 balls. He was the one who took full advantage of powerplay. In first six overs, RR scored 63 runs for the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Karishanppa Gowtham. After that he put on a 53-run stand off 48 balls with Sanju Samson, who made 22 off 18 balls and was the second highest scorer for Royals. Buttler was dropped on 79 by Akshdeep Nath but he couldn't capitalize that drop and got stumped out to Mujeeb Ur Rahaman three runs later. However, None of the other batsmen could able to play big innings and resulted RR restricted to 158 for 8 after 20 overs.## Had KXIP chance to win this match## After restricted RR to 158, and looking at KXIP's batting, it was definitely a target that should be chased down. But it's became difficult after KXIP lost three wickets on just 19. They couldn't recover from this and kept losing wickets further. It was also getting difficult for Rahul to play his shots freely. None of the other batsmen could reach double-figure score despite Marcus Stoinis (11), and that resulted, they couldn't build any big partnership and fell short 15 runs in the end.## Not a day of experiments## It was the day when both the teams did experiments in their batting order. First, it was Rajasthan Royals who promoted Gowtham at no. 3 to take advantage of powerplay. However, he celebrated his promotion with a six but soon after he fell to Marcus Stoinis in trying to hit another. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab too did a experiment after skipper Ravichandran Ashwin promoted himself at no. 3 to give some sort of stability in their batting order. But it didn't work for them as he got out the only second ball he faced to Gowtham.## How good were Ish Sodhi and Gowtham with ball## This was a pitch that offered a lot to spinners and Sodhi and Gowtham took full advantage of the slowness of the pitch. First off all, Gowtham sent back dangerous Chris Gayle, who got stumped by Buttler. Gayle tried to use his feet but Gowtham fired down the leg-side where Buttler did not make any mistake. Two balls later, Gowtham got Ashwin by bowled him out. He bowled three overs and gave away only 12 runs for 2 wickets. On the other hand, Sodhi was tight with his line and length and didn't give any chance to Punjab to open their arm. And that paid him off of Akshdeep Nath's wicket. He finished his spell impressive figures of 4-0-14-1.## For KXIP, it were Andrew Tye and Mujeeb, who bowled decently. Tye took 4 wickets for 34 runs in his 4 overs of spell. On the other hand, Mujeeb was the was the most economical bowler for Punjab as he conceded only 21 runs in 4 overs and grabbed two wickets.## Jos Buttler awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning knock. While KL Rahul received Orange Cap(leading run-getter) and Andrew Tye got Purple Cap(leading wicket-taker).## Thanks for reading.

Different year, similar problems for RCB

This has been another disappointing season for RCB so far. It is quite hard to understand that despite big names and they failed to make it again and again and that has been the story of every IPL season of RCB. In this season of IPL, they were in the competition till their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday (May 7) where they couldn't chased down 147 and lost the match by 5-runs in the end. And almost closed the door for themselves of playoff hopes.##Although, RCB skipper Virat Kohli also thinks that his team didn't deserve to win after putting that kind of show with bat.##"It was tough defeat but that is how the game goes. We deserve to lose this game. We were not good enough on the day. 60-odd runs in first 6 overs and then we ended up like that. I don't think we showed enough application. The kind of shot we played, they were not on at that stage."##"I think we threw it away. I think we let the opposition get back in the game. That has been story of the season so far. The Fielding was up to the mark but I think 10-15 runs less would have been ideal for us."##"This was a tough wicket. We should have done a better job with the ball but in the field we were up to the mark. If you have strong character in the team you can always do well in such a tournament."##However, Virat Kohli thinks that SRH have the best bowling attack but overall CSK and KXIP have a better chances to win this IPL.##Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is the highest run getter for RCB in this IPL with 396 runs. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav is the leading wicket taker of this season with 15 wickets. But apart from Virat and Umesh, none of the other batsmen could contributed much in team cause. However, their Fielding also hasn't been consistent and let them down on some occasions.##With four matches remaining, it is very unlike to them to make it through to the playoffs but RCB will want to win those matches to gain some sort of respect. And also to gain some confidence to going further.##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.

RCB fell short despite de Grandhomme's effort

RCB fell short despite de Grandhomme's effort

Royal Challengers Bangalore had a chance but they faced similar result as Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerve to beat RCB by the small margin of 5-runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Monday (May 7). SRH made it habit to defend such a low scores in this season of IPL.##First, Kane Williamson's 56 off 39 balls gave SRH a fighting total of 146 on a sluggish pitch. After that SRH bowlers made it even more difficult with their line and length. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star as he successfully defended 12 runs in last over. However, Colin de Grandhomme fought hard till the end but his his effort wasn't proved enough to guide RCB home.##How RCB made mess of this run chase##By playing unnecessarily shots. RCB started the run chase on high note as Parthiv Patel got quick fire 20 off 13 balls before Shakib got him out LBW. Parthiv's wicket brought Virat Kohli on the crease. He didn't take much time to get going and hit his first boundary on third ball to Kumar with the signature Virat Kohli cover drive. He followed that boundary with a 4,6,4 in next over to Shakib. RCB scored 55 for 1 in first six overs. But once the powerplay ended, it became difficult to get runs. In this process, Manan Vohra lost his concentration and bowled out to Sandeep Sharma on a Knuckleball. He could only manage 8 off 10 balls. Now, RCB's best batsmen AB de Villers and Kohli were on the crease. Either of their wicket could have been idol for SRH but they got both of them in back to back overs. First of all, Shakib got Kohli in trying to play a pull shot but found the top edge to Yusuf Pathan at short third man where Pathan made no mistake to catch a one-handed ripper. Virat made 39 off 31 balls. In next over, Rashid Khan trapped a big fish as de Villers couldn't read googly from Rashid's hand and bowled out in trying to cut the balls. That was a big wicket on contest of the game. Debutant Moeen Ali also didn't do any special and scored only 10 runs before Kaul got him.##However, Mandeep Singh and de Grandhomme tried hard to brought back RCB into the game. RCB were needed 39 runs in last 4 overs and Williamson gave the ball to Rashid. He concede a single on 1st ball before Grandhomme hit two back to back maximum and put Rashid Khan under pressure. However, he came back well and conceded only a single on next three balls. Rashid's over could have been decisive but Bhuvneshawar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul had some other plans. In 18th over Kumar given away only 6 runs and followed by 7 runs in next over of Kaul. With 12 to defend in last over, Kumar conceded only 6 off them and handed RCB a 5-run defeat. RCB should blame themselves for playing unnecessarily shots and not chase this target down.##How SRH reached to 146 ?##With the help of Williamson's fifty. Before that it was RCB who had won the toss and opted SRH to nat first. However, SRH couldn't start well and lost both the openers in powerplay on 38. Manish Pandey also couldn't find his lost touch and lose his wicket after scoring 5 off 7 balls. But then, Williamson and Shakib put their head together and put on a 64-run stand for the fourth wicket. In this process, Williamson got his fifth fifty of IPL before Umesh Yadav got him out on 56 off 39 balls. Now it was up to Shakib to got them good total. However, he couldn't do that and got out to Southee on 35 off 32 balls. They kept losing wicket after that and could only manage to reach till 146.##Are SRH the best bowling side##Without any doubt, Yes they are the best bowling side. And they proved it in almost every match. They have the bowlers, who provided them breakthrough whenever they needed. Rashid Khan has been their consistent performer and even in this match, he provided match changing wicket by picking de Villiers. He has already received three man of the match award. In this match it was an collective bowling performance by them. If Bhuvi and Kaul were starred in the death overs, Rashid and Shakib provided the much-needed breakthrough in middle overs. On the other hand, Sandeep Sharma was excellent in powerplay.##What about RCB's bowling attack##RCB haven't been consistent with the ball despite Umesh Yadav, who has been the go-to man for RCB. However, in this match their bowling was up to the mark, where Mohammed Siraj and Tim Southee picked up three wickets each. Yuzvendra Chahal was also good with ball as he given away 25 runs in 4 overs and picked 1 wicket. However, Umesh was bit too expensive as he conceded 36 in 4 overs for 1 wicket. Although his 1 wicket was enough to get him Purple Cap (Leading wicket taker).##Kane Williamson awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning half-century on a tough pitch.##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.

Mujeeb, Rahul help KXIP to back on top three

Kings XI Punjab back on winning track after two consecutive losses, to handed a six-wicket defeat to Rajasthan Royals at Holker Cricket Stadium, Indore on Sunday (May 6). Thanks to Mujeeb Ur Rahman's 3 for 27 and KL Rahul's 84* off 54 balls to helped KXIP back on top three in points table.##KL Rahul-The new finisher for KXIP##KXIP's runs chase completely dominated by KL Rahul. He took the responsibility when Chris Gayle couldn't fire in this match. KXIP lost Gayle and Mayank Agarwal on 29 in the fifth over. That was the time when Punjab needed Rahul to play through the innings. He put on a 50-run partnership with Karun Nair before Nair bowled out by Anureet Singh. Nair made 31 off 23 balls. KXIP promoted Axer Patel at no. 5 but this move didn't work for Punjab as Patel could only manage 4 off 5 balls before Krishnappa Gowtham got him out. Rahul needed a partner who could play along with him and he found it in Marcus Stoinis. The duo of Rahul and Stoinis put on an unbeaten 68-runs stand for the fifth wicket. Rahul scored his last 36 runs in just 11 balls and finished the game in style.##Mujeeb Ur Rahman-The game changer##Rajasthan Royals were looking good at the halfway stage despite losing D'Arcy Short and skipper Ajinkya Rahane. In fact, they were 100 for 3 after 12.4 overs. But then Mujeeb changed the game completely by picking Ben Stokes and well set Jos Buttler in successive overs and followed Jofra Archer for first ball duck. However, Buttler got his second consecutive fifty and made 51 off 39 balls with 7 fours.##Royals couldn't recover from Stokes and Buttler's wicket and reduced to 128 for 8 after 17 overs. However, Shreyas Gopal played a short cameo of 24 off 16 balls but that didn't prove enough to lift RR to a big total.## Mujeeb finished his spell with impressive numbers of 4-0-27-3 and awarded Man Of The Match for his brilliant spin bowling.##A day to forget for Jofra Archer##It had been excellent first three-matches for Archer where he got 7 wickets in those matches. But today was a different day for him. Rahul took charge on him and scored 24 off 10 balls, he faced from Archer. Overall Archer conceded 43 runs in 3.4 overs and took a wicket of Chris Gayle. Anureet Singh, who replaced Dhawal Kulkarni in this match, given away 20 runs in 2 overs he bowled.##Familiar failure for Rajasthan##When IPL did start, Rajasthan Royals were definitely looking the contender of top three (still they can make it). But their batting let them down despite a few matches. Royal has the players who ruled the players' auction earlier in this year. Jaydev Unadkat who was bought in 12.5 crores by RR, hasn't been impressive so far. Stokes was also big buy but he let RR down both with bat and ball. So does Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi. Royals yet to play 4 matches and to qualify for the playoffs, their batsmen need to fire in each match.##For more update and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.

Mumbai Indians pulled things back to stay alive in IPL 2018

Mumbai Indians revived their campaign after they pulled things back to beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 13-runs in a must-win game at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on (May 6). However, KKR fought hard, led by Robin Uthappa's 54 off 35 balls but MI were too good to restrict them 13 runs before to the target.##Turning point of the match##Kolkata Knight Riders were going well despite losing two early wickets on 28. But Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana were not only built a solid partnership but also they were taking the game slowly away from the Mumbai Indians before twist came into play. Uthappa, who was well settled on 54, tried to hit Mayank Markande over long-off but couldn't connect well and handed a simple catch to Ben Cutting. When he got out, KKR were 112 for 3 in 12.3 overs. After that, MI didn't give any chance to KKR and won comfortably in the end by 13 runs.##Experiment backfired KKR##Knight Riders began their chase with the slightly different combination at up the order as they sent Shubman Gill as an opener instead of Sunil Narine with Chris Lynn. However, the decision didn't make any sense as Narine was quite successful as an opener and also Gill, who got his maiden IPL fifty at no. 4 in the previous match.##The the decision backfired on KKR as Shubman Gill could only manage 7 off 5 balls. On the other hand, Narine who wasn't used to play under pressure, came out to bat at no. 6 and couldn't hold the pressure of required run rate and got out to Krunal Pandya in trying to hit for a maximum. He could score only 5 of 4 balls.##MI off to a flier after putting bat first##KKR's skipper had won the toss and put MI to bat first. MI took full advantage of the hardness of the pitch as their openers gave them a solid start. Suryakumar Yadav continued his fine form and got fourth 50 plus score of this IPL and Lewis also found his lost touch and got quick fire 43 off 28 balls with the help of 5 fours and 2 sixes. The duo put on a 91-run stand off 56 balls before Lewis got out to Andre Russell. Yadav, after scoring 59 off 39 balls (7 fours & 2 sixes).## Hardik Pandya's all-round effort saw trough MI home##It was Hardik's all-round show that made the difference. He, first contributed with the bat when MI looked in a bit trouble. His 35 off 20 balls lifted MI to 181 after 20 overs. But his contribution with the ball was phenomenal as he dismissed Shubman Gill and dangerous Nitish Rana. In his 4 overs, he gave away only 19 runs. In the end, his spell proved to be pivotal.##He was awarded Man Of The Match for his all-round effort and also received Purple Cap (Leading wicket taker).##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.

All-round SRH reclaimed top spot

Sunrisers Hyderabad reclaimed top spot- one that Chennai Super Kings had taken just a few hours ago, after they beat Delhi Daredevils by 7-wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Saturday (May 5).##Delhi Daredevils, led by Prithvi Shaw's 65 off 36 balls, set a target of 164 in front of Sunrisers Hyderabad. They began well their chase before Amit Mishra put SRH in a bit trouble by picking Hales and Dhawan. However, skipper Kane Williamson's unbeaten 32 along with Yusuf Pathan's 27* off 12 guided the team through without any glitches.##DD off to the flier, led by young Prithvi Shaw##After winning toss, SRH put daredevils to bat. However, DD lost Glenn Maxwell early in the only second over but it didn't affect 18-year old Prithvi Shaw, who got his second successive fifty. He was up against arguably the best bowling attack but they were taken 60 runs in first six overs. Shaw was aggressive against Pacers, used his feet against spinners and that paid him off. He reached to his fifty off just 25 balls.##Shaw had a perfect partner on the other end in Shreyas Iyer, who started his innings slowly before he hit Shakib Al Hasan for a six and four in ninth over of the innings. Shaw, in his 65 runs, hit 6 fours and 3 sixes (including one over of Kaul in which he hit six and 3 fours in a row). The duo of Shaw and Iyer put on a solid 86-run stand off 51 balls for the second wicket. DD reached on 95 in 10 overs before Rashid Khan got the wicket of Shaw.##SRH fought hard, slow down the run-rate##Shaw's wicket open the door for SRH and they tightened the screw by not giving them any width to open their arm, resulted, DD could only manage 30 runs in next five overs and also lost skipper Iyer in this process. He made 44 off 36 balls before Siddarth Kaul grabbed him. DD's chances of getting the big total dismissed with the wickets of Rishabh Pant and Naman Ojha in space of five balls. After reduced to 134 for 5 in 17 overs, Vijay Shankar's short cameo of 13-ball 23* led DD to 163 after 20 overs.##Delhi Daredevils, after the solid start, could manage only 68 runs in last 10 overs. Courtesy some excellent bowling from no. 1 T20 bowler Rashid Khan, who was the star with the ball for SRH. He conceded only 23 runs in four overs and picked the wickets of dangerous Shaw and Pant.##Alex Hales led SRH runs to chase on high##After the half-way stage of the IPL, seems that SRH found their Right opener in Hales along with Dhawan. Hales, who came in the team as a replacement of warner, waited for a long time to got a chance to play. He provided SRH same start which David Warner used to provide them. He didn't take much time to get going as he took Avesh Khan for 3 sixes in a row. SRH ended their powerplay with 61 runs on the board, highest powerplay score of this year.##Mishra strikes twice but proved not enough at the end##After putting 76 for the first wicket, SRH was looking in the comfortable position but then Amit Mishra put his experience into the game and got Hales and Dhawan out in successive overs. This was the time when SRH looked in a bit trouble but Williamson kept his head and put on a 46-run stand off 37 balls with Manish Pandey. Pandey got out on 132 With still 32 runs needed from 17 balls, then Yusuf Pathan came and played a blitzing cameo of 26* off 12 balls and saw through SRH home with one ball to spare. Amit Mishra was the star with the ball for Daredevils. He conceded only 19 runs in 4 overs and grabbed both the openers.##Rashid Khan awarded Man Of The Match for his outstanding spell of spin bowling.##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.

Spinners And Dhoni Crushed RCB In A Low-scoring Contest

It was yet another disappointing performance by Royal Challengers Bangalore as they lost to Chennai Super Kings by 6-wickets at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Saturday (May 5). It was a complete dominating display of spin bowling by Ravindra Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh, who shared five wickets with each other and restricted RCB on a modest total of 127 after 20 overs.## However, CSK needed to be careful in chasing 128 as the pitch offered some help for spinners. Mahendra Singh Dhoni kept his head and guided CSK home comfortably in the end, despite Umesh Yadav's brilliant spell of fast bowling. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 31 off 23 balls.## Where RCB went wrong, didn't they start well?## They did, in fact, they got to flying start despite losing McCullum in second over. They scored 47 in the powerplay. Parthiv Patel, who was playing his first game in this IPL, was the aggressor in the first six overs. But then Dhoni introduced Jadeja on the bowling attack and he provided the big breakthrough to CSK by getting Virat Kohli on the very first ball of 7th over. Kohli could only manage to get 8 off 11 balls.## Kohli's wicket brought de Villiers on crease who missed out RCB's previous two games. But he couldn't make his mark and got stumped out in trying to play reverse sweep to Harbhajan Singh. They kept losing a wicket in middle overs and after 14 overs they reduced to 87 for 6. However, Tim Southee's 36* off 26 helped RCB to put 127 after 20 overs.## How good were Jadeja and Harbhajan for CSK? ## Outstanding, it was Jadeja who got introduced ahead of Harbhajan and got Virat Kohli on the first ball of his spell. Then Harbhajan removed dangerous AB de Villiers in next over and left RCB in awful condition. Before RCB could recover from those big wickets, Jadeja removed Mandeep Singh and Parthiv Patel in two successive overs. Parthiv made 53 off 41 balls and remained top scorer in this match.##Ravindra Jadeja and Harbhajan Singh conceded 40 runs in their 8 overs and destroyed RCB's batting by picking 5 wickets.## Did CSK began well in run chase?## Not quite but yes, they did. However, CSK loses Shane Watson (11 off 14) on the last ball of the 3rd over. But Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu played well and put on a 44-run stand for the second wicket before Raina became another victim od, Umesh Yadav. He made 25 off 21 balls with 2 fours and a six.## How cool MSD was?## RCB tried to come back in the game by picking Rayudu and Dhruv Shorey in successive overs. But wicket of Rayudu brought Dhoni on the crease. He kept his head and took his time to get going but once he did, he finished the game by hitting 3 sixes to Yuzvendra Chahal in 18th over. He put on an unbeaten 48 off 34 balls with DJ Bravo and seal the deal for CSK.## Ravindra Jadeja awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning spell while Umesh Yadav received Purple Cap (Leading wicket taker).## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.

Krunal Pandya's late assault revive MI's campaign

Mumbai Indians revived their chances of playoffs with a thumping 6-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab on at Holker Cricket Stadium, Indore on Friday (May 4). Thanks to Suryakumar Yadav's half-century and Krunal Pandya's blitzing 31* off 12 balls. It was a must-win game for Mumbai Indians to kept their hopes alive of playoffs.##Mumbai Indians now have six points in 9 matches and new fifth on points table along with Rajasthan Royals, and Royal Challengers Bangalore have played 8 games each.##, Chris Gayle and KL Rahul- Lethal combination##It was yet another day in the office for Chris Gayle as he notched up his 3rd fifty of this season along with a century. On the other Rahul continued his form. His six to Bumrah over cover, was shot of the innings.##However, Gayle took his time before he getting the batter of Hardik Pandya with a hat-trick of fours and then he launched a six out of the park off the bowling of Mitchell McClenaghan in last over of powerplay. The duo put on a 54-run stand before Rahul caught out in the deep mid wicket by JP Duminy off Mayank Markande. He made 24 off 20 balls (2 sixes & 1 four). It was fifth straight 50+ partnership between Gayle and Rahul, and became only second pair to score five successive 50+ stand in IPL after Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.##Another disappointment for Yuvraj Singh##Yuvraj Singh's poor form continued in this game also as he could score only 14 runs in his comeback match.##After being dropped in last match, he was promoted up to number 3 in batting order. He struggled to get runs and while batting on 2, survived a chance as Ishan Kishan dropped a tough one to his left off Pandya's bowling. However, Yuvraj tried to regain his lost touch as he hit Krunal to over long on for a six but got run-out after scored 14-ball 14.##Marcuis Stoinis' final assault on Hardik##Mumbai Indians' bowlers did well in middle overs by not giving them easy runs, courtesy some tight bowling from Bumrah. But Stoinis had some other plans. He took Hardik Pandya to the cleaners by hitting him 22 runs in last over of the innings. Remember, MI had given away 24 runs in last over against RCB and pay the price on sluggish wicket. KXIP were hoping the same but thankfully, it did not come back to bite MI like it did in the last game. Bumrah was the star with ball for MI. His spell 4-0-19-1 was responsible for restricted KXIP on 174.##A Watchful start from MI##Mumbai Indians did not repeat their mistakes which they did in last game against RCB by losing 3 wickets in powerplay. Their main focus in this game was kept wickets in hand. Despite few attacking shots from Suryakumar Yadav, MI were going good before Mujeeb Ur Rahman was introduced in last over of the powerplay and got Evin Lewis out on the 4th ball by edging to KL Rahul. It was Mujeeb's fourth wicket in powerplay- most by a spinner in this season.##Suryakumar Yadav gets his 3rd fifty plus score in this IPL##Suryakumar Yadav carried his good form into this game and notched his 3rd fifty plus score in this season. He reached to his fifty off just 34 balls. He got the support from Ishan Kishan (25 off 19 balls) and put on a 42-run stand for the second wickets. However, after scored 57 off 42 balls, Yadav was dismissed by Stoinis. Indians were still 95 runs needed off 50 balls before he departed.##Krunal Pandya- The Saviour##Hardik Pandya blasted 23 of 13 balls before he was clean bowled by Andrew Tye. But his dismissal brought Krunal on crease, whose 31* of 12 balls snatched the Victory from KXIP's hands. He took Stoinis in 18th over and blasted 14 runs off last three balls, followed by a six and four to Tye in 19th over. Skipper Rohit did enough well with a 14-ball 24. MI won by six-wickets with one over to spare.##Achievement for Rohit Sharma##This was the 17th time that Rohit has remained unbeaten in run-chase and all of them have ended on a winning note.##Suryakumar Yadav awarded Man Of The Match for his match-winning half-century.##For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.##Thanks for reading.
