Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa - The Rise' Crosses Rs. 300 Crores Worldwide
Hyderabad, January 7 - Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's "Pushpa - The Rise" has reached the magical figure of Rs. 300 crores at the worldwide box office. It becomes the first Indian film of 2021 to reach the milestone.
Directed by Sukumar, "Pushpa - The Rise" was released worldwide on December 17 in multiple languages. It has grossed Rs. 268.45 crores in India over 3 weeks while its overseas collection stands at Rs. 32.8 crores, pushing its worldwide total to Rs. 301.25 crores.
The movie has grossed Rs. 156.03 crores in the original Telugu language. The Hindi collection, however, is as strong as most of the outright Bollywood titles. Despite many challenges, the movie has generated Rs. 85.33 crores gross in the Hindi dubbed version while it grossed 28.12 crores in combined Tamil, and Malayalam versions.
"Pushpa - The Rise" is the biggest Indian film of 2021, crossing Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi's" worldwide total of Rs. 293 crores. The Pan-India biggie is also the first Rs. 300 crores grosser since Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" in January 2020. "Tanhaji" had grossed Rs. 361 crores over its entire worldwide box office run.
For Allu Arjun, "Pushpa" is the first Rs. 300 crores grosser. His biggest-grosser before this film was "Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo" which was released in January 2020 and grossed Rs. 269.35 crores worldwide.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, and Muttamsetty Media, "Pushpa - The Rise" marks Allu Arjun's maiden Pan-India film. It proved to be an important film in Icon Star's career and established him as a Pan-India actor.
