Box Office: Bachchhan Paandey Scores A Disastrous First Week

Mumbai, March 25 - Sajid Nadiadwala's "Bachchhan Paandey" has proved to be one of the biggest disastrous films for Akshay Kumar at the box office.

The action comedy film, directed by Farhad Samji, could never get the momentum an Akshay Kumar film used to be. Despite a decent to a good start, BP couldn't hold well over the weekdays, resulting in finishing below the 50 crores mark at the domestic BO.

Over the first week, BP scored approx. 48.66 crores in India. The movie got mixed WOM but it surrendered to "The Kashmir Files", which remained the first choice for the moviegoers.

The showcasing of "Bachchan Pandey" will be reduced significantly due to the new release in the form of "RRR", which is all set to swipe screens and set the box office on fire. BP only has 71 shows in Mumbai on its 8th day, which are too low to generate a few extra crores for the movie.

Keeping all the aspects aside, the makers of "Bachchan Pandey" will really feel unlucky to see their film released in the middle of the unexpected box office blockbuster TKF, and potential box office king, "RRR". Had BP been released in normal times, the BO fate of it might have been a different one.
