Box Office: Sita Ramam And Bimbisara Exceeded Expectations On First Saturday
Hyderabad, August 7 - Two Telugu films, completely opposite each other, exceeded expectations on the first Saturday at the box office, giving more joy to the Telugu film industry.
The period romantic drama film, Sita Ramam, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, witnessed a jump of strong 57% on its second day for 4.8 crores net collection. The AP/TG share collection on Saturday came at 2.08 crores, jumping by nearly 40% from Friday.
The word of mouth for this Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer is super strong and this is clearly visible in the film's second-day collection. The advance booking for Sunday is better than the first two days and the collection is likely to go overdrive to put a very good opening weekend.
On the other hand, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's, Bimbisara will be entering the profit zone in just three days and will probably end up becoming one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
The time travel fantasy actioner has been valued at 13 crores in AP/TG and has recovered 10.82 crores (83%) of it in just two days, including solid 4.52 crores share on the first Saturday. Just like Sita Ramam, the movie will see further growth on Sunday to finish the opening weekend with rock-solid collections.
Overall, Bimbisara has scored 15.50 crores net (18.10 cr. gross) collection so far while the worldwide collection stands at 20.20 crores.
