Box Office: Sita Ramam Jumps On Saturday; Bimbisara Remains Rock Solid
Hyderabad, August 6 - The Tollywood film industry is truly back to business with two of the most important films, Sita Ramam and Bimbisara performing brilliantly. This is a great sign for the industry that was under the pump after back-to-back box office failures.
Director Hanu Raghavpudi's, period romantic drama film, Sita Ramam, witnesses a nearly 50% jump in the collections from Friday after a decent opening day of 3.05 crores net. It scored an estimated 4.50 crores net on Saturday.
The Dulquer Salmaan/Mrunal Thakur/Rashmika Mandanna-starrer film is carrying strong positive word of mouth which helps it jump on the second day. It is up against a strong opponent, Bimbisara, which is heading towards a massive blockbuster status.
The Nandamuri Kalyan Ram-fronted time travel fantasy actioner exceeded all the expectations on the first day, scoring 8.90 crores net. In AP/TG, the movie was sold for approx. 13 crores, and pleasantly, it recovered almost 50% on the first day itself by scoring 6.30 crores share collection.
Bimbisara remains rock solid on the first Saturday, dropping just around 26% for an estimated 6.50 crores net. The AP/TG share collection is also expected to be around 4 crores, which means, the movie will recover its total investment in just 3 days as the film is set for a further jump on Sunday.
Overall, a very good weekend for Telugu cinema is on the card after nearly two months.
