Prabhas' 'Radhe Shyam' Opened At Number 4 At The USA Box Office
Los Angeles, March 12 - The Telugu tentpole, "Radhe Shyam", starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde has had a strong overseas debut including the USA.
The period romantic drama film opened at the number 4 at the USA box office with $1.25 million (Rs. 9.59 crores) on Friday, including Thursday previews. The opening weekend is expected to finish over $2 million, making it the biggest launch for an Indian movie during the pandemic.
"Radhe Shyam" becomes the 4th film for Prabhas to enter the million-dollar club at the USA box office after "Baahubali", "Baahubali 2", and "Saaho". Overall, the latest movie scored over Rs. 15 crores gross internationally.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, the Pan India movie grossed Rs. 50.30 crores on the first day at the domestic box office, the biggest in 2022 and the second biggest during the health crisis.
The film, set in Europe of the 1970s, tells the story of Vikramaditya (Prabhas), a palmist who is conflicted between destiny and his love for Prerana (Pooja Hegde). Produced by UV Creations and T-Series, the movie also stars Bhagyashree, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Krishnam Raju, among others in key roles.
