John Wick: Chapter 4 Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film In The Franchise In India
Mumbai, March 26 - The Keanu Reeves-fronted 4th installment of John Wick is turning out to be a sleeper hit in India. Despite having not much pre-release buzz and poor outcomes of the first three films in the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4 has been able to attract Indian moviegoers in a big way. ## Directed by Chad Stahelski, the latest flick in this neo-noir action thriller series opened to a fantastic 8.75 crores net, including Thursday previews, in India for all languages. It was the biggest opening for the John Wick franchise as well as more than 50% of the total net collection of the first three films. ## With the help of a super solid audience WOM, "John Wick 4" sees a jump of more than 50% on Saturday for approx. 9 crores net, pushing total net collection to approx. 17.50 crores. After this, it has become the highest-grossing John Wick film in India, surpassing the combined net total of approx. 14 crores of the previous films in just two days. ## The first film in the franchise, released in 2014, was a washout in India, scoring just approx. 1 crore net lifetime collection, before "John Wick: Chapter 2" (2017) improved slightly to approx. 2 crore net. "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" (2019) was previously the biggest film in the series with approx. 11 crores net. The three films combined did approx. 14 crores net. ## "John Wick 4" will see another big spike in the collection on Sunday. The advance booking for the day was more than 8 crores gross which are higher than most of the Indian films' opening day pre-sales in the post-pandemic times. ## Stay tuned...
