Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 'Baahubali' To Become Second Biggest Worldwide Grosser For Prabhas

Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has become the actor's second highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office, after topping SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali on its 8th day of run. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic grossed approximately 641 crores worldwide in the first 7 days, and with its 8th day's collection (2nd Thursday), the movie has topped Baahubali - The Beginning which grossed an estimated 650 crores worldwide in 2015. ## Kalki 2898 AD has been on a dream run since its debut on June 27. It became only the 6th Indian movie ever to score 500+ crores worldwide gross collection in the opening weekend and will end the extended first week total to around 675 crores. ## As has been the case with Prabhas' recent films, the Hindi version has once again delivered for the actor and added immense value to the overall collection. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Beats 'Fighter' To Score The Biggest First Week In Hindi In 2024

Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has beaten Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter to score the biggest first week of 2024 at the Hindi box office. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has earned approximately 152.30 crores net collection in Hindi in 7 days so far, whereas, Fighter had scored 146.50 crores in its extended first week. Both the movies have had a Thursday release, leading to an 8-day extended week. ## Interestingly, Siddharth Anand's directorial, Fighter had posted a bigger opening weekend with approximately 118.50 crores net than Kalki 2898 AD's 109 crores. However, there will be, at least, a 15 crores difference between the two films at the end of the full first week with marching ahead. ## Fighter scored approximately 212.75 crores net collection in its lifetime run which Kalki could topple in the second weekend to become the biggest Hindi grosser of the year. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, July 3 - Kalki 2898 AD finishes the first week (7 days) with 150+ crores net collection in Hindi, making it the biggest of the year for an Indian film after the solid first Wednesday at the box office with a drop of under 20% from Tuesday. ## As per the early estimates, the Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic scored 11-12 crores net collection on its 7th day, dropping around 15% from yesterday which is a regular drop. Prabhas 'Salaar 2' Shoot To Begin On August 10

Hyderabad, July 3 - Pan India superstar Prabhas, currently basking on the mega box office success of Kalki 2898 AD, is set to start the sequel of last year's success Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel amid the rumours of it getting shelved. ## Salaar Part 1 was one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2023 and the makers planned to commence the shoot of Salar Part 2 sooner than later to complete the story. The movie was supposed to go on floors by June this year but now, it will roll out in August. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the 20% shoot of Salaar 2 is already completed and the makers will resume it on August 10 with a 15-day schedule at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. It is said that plans to resume the filming in June were delayed due to weather and date issues. ## Prashanth Neel, meanwhile also has Jr. NTR's Dragon and the report says that the filmmaker will juggle between the shoots of the two movies. Salaar 2 will be shot for over 8 months with Dragon in 2024 and 2025, starting from August this year. 'Kalki 2898 AD' Tops 2 Crore Footfalls; First Indian Movie of 2024 To Do So

Hyderabad, July 3 - Amid the box office carnage, sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 20 million (2 crores) footfalls in India in all languages, becoming the first Indian movie of the year to do so, beating fellow industry title, Hanuman. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, Kalki 2898 AD has scored an estimated 2.02 crores of footfalls in just 6 days in all versions. The Telugu version is leading approximately 1 crore admissions, followed by Hindi with 75 lakh. Hyderabad, July 3 - After another good day at the box office, director Nag Ashwin's mega-blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD has topped 600 crores gross collection worldwide in just 6 days, becoming one of the fastest Indian movies to achieve the milestone. ## The Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted tentpole has been on a winning spree since day 1 and breaking records left, right, and centre. After reaching the milestone of 500 crores worldwide gross in the 4-day opening weekend itself, the movie showed a strong hold on Monday to go past 550 crores and kept the momentum going on Tuesday to reach the next target. ## On its 6th day, Kalki 2898 AD minted an estimated 40+ crores at the worldwide box office, including 32+ crores domestically to take its total worldwide cume to around 610 crores, including an estimated 441+ crores in India. Hyderabad, July 2 - Kalki 2898 AD continues to score well at the Hindi box office after another solid hold on its first Tuesday. The movie is seeing a drop of around 20% from Monday which is a good hold as Monday was stronger than expected after the extended opening weekend. ## The Nag Ashwin's directorial blockbuster, on its 6th day, scored an estimated 13-14+ crores net collection in Hindi. This takes its total to 141+ crores in the dubbed version as the first full week is heading for 160+ crores net. ## The weekday trend of Kalki 2898 AD is almost similar to RRR in Hindi and it will probably be heading towards a similar finish. Box Office: Top 10 Highest-Grossing South Indian Films In Hindi

Mumbai, October 9 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion set the benchmark for not just Telugu cinema but also in the Hindi and rest of the versions. It was the last film to sell over 5 crores tickets in Hindi. Baahubali 2 was only the second South Indian film, after Baahubali, to reach 100 crores net mark in Hindi. While no other film could come close to the footfalls benchmark set by BB2, nearly a dozen South Indian films have managed to breach 100 crores net mark in Hindi, with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule went on to become, not the biggest dubbed grosser, but also the biggest Hindi net grosser of all-time with over 800 crores. Hyderabad, June 30 - Director Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD has topped 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office after the huge first Saturday despite the India and South Africa T20 World Cup final match which saw Men In Blue emerging winner in a thriller clash. ## The Prabhas-starrer movie, however, largely remained unaffected and grossed over 100 crores worldwide on its third day. The movie scored approximately 22.50 crores net its Thursday opening day. ## Kalki is witnessing a drop under 10% on its second day, Friday, for an estimated 21-22+ crores net which might be on the higher end, depending on hold in mass centres. Mumbai, June 28 - Pan India superstar Prabhas is set for another good ride at the Hindi box office after his sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD off to a superb start with approximately 22.50 crores net collection. The opening of the film is in the range of Hrithik Roshan's Fighter with a minor difference as the joint biggest of the year.## As has often been said in the last few years, Prabhas has emerged as the biggest superstar on the Pan India level and easily the biggest South India-origin star in the North. Despite his films not reaching the high end of the target, the actor has consistently delivered in Hindi, which the Bollywood stars have failed to do regularly. ## Since Baahubali (2015) which opened at 5.15 crores net in Hindi, Prabhas has done 6 movies, including Baahubali 2 and except for Radhe Shyam and Salaar, all the movies have taken an opening of 20+ crores net in the dubbed Hindi version. Box Office: 'Kalki 2898 AD' Scored Third Biggest Opening For Indian Film Worldwide

Hyderabad, June 28 - Director Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has had a sensational opening day at the domestic box office, clearing 100 crores gross mark and was equally strong overseas to put the movie among the top three biggest Indian openers of all-time. ## In India, the Prabhas-starrer blockbuster grossed approximately 114 crores in all versions. There were expectations of the movie scoring much more but the mass centres in Telugu states didn't show up as expected which kept the movie a little below the projected mark but big enough to set the tone for a massive opening weekend. ## In terms of language-wise gross collection, the original Telugu version scored approximately 78.50 crores, followed by the Hindi version with approximately 27 crores, and the rest of the languages grossed around 8.50 crores. The Telugu version faired below expectations but it is expected to maintain a solid hold over the weekend.## Overseas, Kalki 2898 AD grossed an estimated 61 crores on opening day, for a worldwide 175 crores start which is the third biggest ever for an Indian movie behind RRR (223 crores) and Baahubali 2 (217 crores).
