Overseas Rights of Upcoming Telugu Biggies, 'Devara', 'Game Changer', 'Vishwambhara' and 'OG' Locked

Hyderabad, January 30 - Telugu cinema will be on a roll in the next couple of years with back-to-back Pan India biggies lined up for the release. In 2023, some of the biggest Tollywood stars will be in action with films that are some of the most anticipated ones among the nationwide audiences. ## The trade is quite optimistic about the upcoming Pan-Indian films regarding their box-office prospects, however, projections are split as far as their overseas business is concerned. According to the latest reports in Tollywood media, the overseas rights of Devara, Game Changer, Vishwambhara, and OG are locked. ## Jr. NTR-led "Devara" is easily one of the biggest Telugu films that reunited him with director Koratala Siva. The film was scheduled to release on April 5 this year but has now reportedly been postponed to a new date. It is said that Hamsini Entertainment has acquired the overseas theatrical rights of the film for 27 crores. The movie is expected to be released in August this year. ## Jr. NTR's "RRR" co-star Ram Charan teamed up with director Shankar for a political action drama film titled "Game Changer". The movie has been in production since 2022 but the shoot got delayed due to Shankar's other commitments. The makers are now planning to release the film in September this year. ## According to reports, the overseas theatrical rights of "Game Changer" have been bagged by Phars Films for 23 crores. The overseas business of the movie got hit by the continuous delay but it is expected to fetch good business for the domestic market. ## Megastar Chiranjeevi teamed up with director Mallidi Vassishta for a socio-fantasy film titled "Vishwambhara". The makers recently released a concept first look teaser which instantly caught the attention of the fans. The movie is carrying a very good buzz among the audiences as well as the trade and as a result, it fetched a good overseas deal. As per reports, Sarigama Cinemas acquired the overseas rights of Vishwambhara for 18 crores which is very good business. It will be released on Sankranthi 2025. ## Action drama "OG", starring superstar Pawan Kalyan, is another big Telugu film in production. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie is shaping up to be the biggest film in Pawan Kalyan's career and there is genuine curiosity among the fans. Phars Films is said to have acquired the overseas rights of it for 18 crores. Mumbai, January 24 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire scored a decent viewership on its Netflix debut after concluding the box office journey with over 600 crores gross worldwide. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "Salaar: Ceasefire" was made available to watch digitally on 20 January in South Indian languages, 28 days after the theatrical release. In the first two days, the movie scored 4.7 million viewing hours from 1.6 million views. ## It was the third most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of January 15 - January 21. While the numbers are decent, Netflix would have hoped for more considering the film's box-office performance. Mumbai, January 22 - Director Prashanth Varma's superhero movie Hanuman has emerged as a big Sankranthi 2024 winner at the domestic and worldwide box office. The film not only surpassed bigger titles but is also on course to become the biggest Sankranthi winner ever in Telugu cinema. ## Hanuman was released on January 12 with superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama "Guntur Kaaram" which is a much bigger movie in terms of star power and scale. Hyderabad, January 15 - Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of some of the biggest Telugu Pan-Indian films in 2024 and beyond. The streamer has been putting efforts to make a mark in the Indian digital space and its upcoming South Indian slate is the first major push. ## The biggest film Netflix has acquired is the upcoming Pan India movie Pushpa - The Rule. Starring superstar Allu Arjun, the action drama film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages and it is likely to be available on Netflix after an 8-week theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is another big Telugu Pan India film acquired by Netflix after its theatrical release, which is on April 5. Hyderabad, January 13 - Superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama Guntur Kaaram, after a very good opening of over 41 crores net, is showing a big drop on its second day which could be a concerning factor for the film in the going ahead. ## The movie did manage to do well on its first day due to star power despite the mixed word of mouth but that came into play on the second day as it scored an estimated 13-14 crore net (15-16 crore gross) with a drop of around 70%. ## The drop in collection is a bit heavy even though the first day was huge and theatres also decreased due to the release of Saindhav and the strong performance of Hanuman but the holiday period is going on so the drop should have been under or around 50% which is normal for Telugu movies. ## The total Guntur Kaaram after two days is around 54 crores net (64 crores gross) which is a good number overall but it needs to hold extremely well in the coming days to reach even close to its break-even target which is around 170 crores gross domestically. ## Meanwhile, director Prashanth Varma's superhero movie Hanuman, which was released with Guntur Kaaram, has shown a big jump in collection on its second day. The movie took an opening of approximately 12.20 crores net, including 4.15 crores paid premieres, which is very good considering the release size. ## On its second day, Hanuman is showing a jump of over 50% for an estimated 12+ crores net (14+ crores gross) in Telugu and Hindi. The collection could go higher depending on the performance of the single screens. The Telugu version collected around 8.50 crores net while the Hindi version minted approximately 3.50 crores, as per estimates. ## The Hindi version of the film could be a game-changer going ahead as word of mouth is super positive which is already showing its effect after the first two days. Box Office: 'Guntur Kaaram' and 'Hanuman' Opening Day Early Estimates

Hyderabad, January 12 - The biggest release of Sankranthi 2024, superstar Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram has taken a fantastic start at the box office. Directed by Trivikram, the movie was anyway going to start with a bang due to star power. ## According to early estimates, Guntur Kaaram is heading for a 42+ crores net (50 crores gross) opening in India which is excellent. In AP/TG, the movie scored an estimated 44+ crores gross, which is again huge though it failed to beat Babu's last film "Sarkaru Vaari Paata" which scored 50 crores gross on opening day in AP/TG and 55+ crores all India start (as per estimates, final collection awaited). ## Guntur Kaaram's final opening day gross can be headed to 50+ crores, depending on the performance on the single screens.
