Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' Scores Century At The Worldwide Box Office

Mumbai, March 3 - It has been a dream comeback for Alia Bhatt on the big screen with "Gangubai Kathiawadi", after taking a direct-to-digital route for her previous movie, "Sadak 2".## Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "Gangubai Kathiawadi" has become the first Bollywood, and third Indian movie of 2022 to score a century at the worldwide box office. It has been unstoppable at the box office since its launch on February 25 and scored the milestone in just 6 days. ## On Wednesday, the biographical drama film earned Rs. 6.21 crores net at the Indian box office, pushing total domestic cume to Rs. 63.53 crores net (Rs. 75 crores gross). Overseas, it has so far grossed approx. Rs. 26 crores, helping the film's worldwide total to reach Rs. 101 crores, becoming the 9th film for Alia to reach the milestone. ## "Gangubai Kathiawadi" is currently Alia Bhatt's 10th highest-grossing film at the domestic box office. It will cross "Dear Zindagi" (Rs. 68.45 cr.), "Student Of The Year" (Rs. 70 cr.), "Kapoor & Sons" (Rs. 73.22 cr.), "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" (Rs. 76.81 cr.), and possibly "Kalank" (Rs. 84.6 cr.) by the end of the second weekend to become the 5th biggest grosser for the Alia. ## The film has crossed the lifetime net total of "Secret Superstar" (Rs. 63.4 cr.) which is the 4th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office with Rs. 912.75 crores, to become the 168th biggest Hindi film. In the all-time biggest Hindi movie list (Net collection), "Gangubai Kathiawadi" is expected to reach number 151 at the end of the first week. ## The movie is based on the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by S. Hussain Zaidi. Pathaan: Shah Rukh Khan's Much-Awaited Big Screen Comeback To Meet In-Form Hrithik Roshan's 'Fighter'

After months of speculation and eagerness among the fans, Yash Raj Films finally decided to put a brake on that and announced Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's big-screen comeback with spy action thriller film, "Pathaan". ## Even though the movie has been in production since 2020, YRF finally made the official announcement regarding the same and also confirmed its arrival date. For the first time, a Shah Rukh Khan movie will be released in multiple languages as "Pathan" will hit screens on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. ## The announcement of "Pathaan" has already hyped the fans. It is currently in the last leg of production and will be completed soon. Siddharth Anand is directing this high-octane actioner that is said to be the beginning of YRF's spy universe. John Abraham and Deepika Padukone have also featured in prominent roles in the film. ## Meanwhile, the much-awaited comeback of SRK might be challenged at the box office. Mumbai, March 1 - Actor Vicky Kaushal, who recently completed the shoot of Laxman Utekar's yet-untitled film with Sara Ali Khan, has reportedly commenced filming for his next romantic-comedy film today (March 1) in Mumbai under the production of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. ## As per reports, the Bandish Bandits creator, Anand Tiwari is directing this yet-untitled project. "Laila Majnu" (2018) actress Tripti Dimri is playing the female lead while Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk also essays a prominent role. ## It is said that Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri will be shooting in Mumbai for nearly a month before the next schedule begins in Delhi. It is touted to be a unique subject with a message for the audience. This is the first time when the trio of Vicky, Tripti, and Ammy come together in a film. ## Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in "Sardar Udham", has plenty of films under the pipeline. He will next be seen in "Govinda Naam Mera", co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani. Apart from this, he also has Laxman Utekar's film and the biopic of "Sam Bahadur". ## Tripti, on the other hand, has Anvita Dutt's Qala with Babil Khan. She was last seen in Netflix's "Bulbbul" in 2020. Ammy Virk also has a couple of Punjabi movies lined up.
