Akshay Kumar To Reunite With Filmmaker Rohit Shetty For Mohit Suri's Next Directorial

Mumbai, September 16 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty will be reuniting for an action thriller film which will be directed by Mohit Suri, according to Pinkvilla. The movie will be a standalone outside Shetty's famous cop universe of which Akshay is also a part as Veer Sooryavanshi. ## The report states that Akshay Kumar has given his nod for the film after being in a discussion for a while now. It is touted to be an edge-of-the-seat action thriller and will feature Akshay in a never-before-seen avatar. Rohit Shetty will produce it under his banner Rohit Shetty Picturez. ## The yet-to-be-titled movie is believed to ride on a strong cast as per the demand of the script. The story narration and paperwork are said to be done and the team is now working on the shooting plans. It is expected to take off in the first quarter of 2024. ## Before Mohit Suri's directorial, Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty will be reuniting on the "Singham Again" or "Singham 3" which will feature the actor in an extended role. Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn's 'Singham Again' To Be Officially Launched On September 16?

Mumbai, September 16 - The third instalment of director Rohit Shetty's biggest cop franchise "Singham" starring Ajay Devgn has been in development and it is touted to be the biggest film in Shetty's cop universe which also includes Akshay Kumar's "Sooryavanshi" and Ranveer Singh's "Simmba".## "Singham Again" or "Singham 3" was officially announced earlier this year and now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the movie is formally getting launched today, on September 16 with the mahurat shot.## It is said that director Shetty is keen on starting work on Singham 3 and has locked September 16 to launch the movie. The movie launch event will reportedly be held in Yash Raj Films Studio in Mumbai and Shetty will attend it along with Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh. ## The movie will be mounted on a huge scale with a massive star cast on board it. Box Office: Jawan Crosses Gadar 2 And Tops 700 Crores Worldwide

Mumbai, September 15 - The record-breaking spree of mega-blockbuster Jawan continued on its 8th day at the global box office. The movie scored another 36.50+ crores gross worldwide on its second Thursday, which soared its total cume to 696.50 crores, making it the second highest-grossing Indian movie of the year.## Directed by Atlee Kumar, "Jawan" topped the "Gadar 2's" 676 crores gross collection as the second biggest Indian movie of 2023. The Sunny Deol-fronted movie, however, is still running in theatres but it is in no way going to catch the current top two grosser.## Domestically, "Jawan" has minted 469 crores gross collection (390 crores net) through the second Thursday while overseas collection reached approximately 227.50 crores. Yash Raj Films Locks OTT Platform For Its Thriller Series 'The Railway Men' and Film 'Maharaj'

Box Office: Independence Day 2023 Week's 'Gadar 2', 'Jailer', and 'OMG 2' Combine Cross 1000+ Crores India Net Collection

Mumbai, September 15 - Independence Day 2023 proved to be a historic week for the Indian box office which saw three Indian blockbusters joining hands to score huge collections. Thanks to the mammoth response to Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2, Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer, and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, August 2023 has already become the biggest single month net collection scorer of all-time at the Indian box office.## The box office juggernaut of the aforementioned three films continued ever after August, as all three films have now combined generated over 1000+ crores net collection. This is only the second time that Indian movies have topped 1000+ crores net collection after being released in the same weekend. Earlier, SS Rajamouli's magnum opus "Baahubali 2" did the same in 2017.## Gadar 2## The sequel to the all-time blockbuster "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", Gadar 2 has turned out to be a monstrous blockbuster and is only the 3rd movie ever to top 500 crores net in Hindi, and only the second outright Bollywood movie to do so. In its 5 weeks of run so far, the movie has scored 517.28 crores and is still in the race to top "Pathaan" (524+ crores) to become the biggest Hindi movie ever domestically in terms of net collection. Worldwide, G2 has grossed approximately 676 crores so far.## Jailer## Superstar Rajinikanth's action drama, which was released on August 10, has had an unprecedented run so far. In 36 days so far, Jailer has minted 343.75 crores net in all versions, emerging as the second biggest Tamil movie ever, behind Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar's "2.0" which scored approx. 407 crores net. At the worldwide box office, Jailer has crossed the 600 crores gross mark, again the second highest-grossing after "2.0" (744 crores).## OMG 2## The social comedy-drama film, which is a sequel to "OMG" (2012) scored a timely success for superstar Akshay Kumar who was going through a lean phase. Box Office: Jawan Second Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, September 14 - Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Jawan has a fantastic extended first week at the domestic box office. The movie has already beaten SRK's own blockbuster Pathaan to score the biggest first week ever for a Bollywood as well as a Hindi movie.## The action thriller, on its second Thursday, scored an estimated 18 crores net collection in Hindi which takes its total cume to around 345 crores in 8 days. Additionally, it minted an estimated 1.50 crores in Tamil and Telugu versions for all India 19.50 crores second Thursday.## Jawan witnessed a drop of around 15% today which is a good hold as overall collections are huge. The total all-India net collection is over 387 crores in the extended 8-day week and tomorrow, on its second Friday, Jawan will hit the 400 crores mark in all versions.## There is no competition for Jawan in the second weekend which should help it to score 75+ crores net. It will be looking to top 500 crores net by the end of the second week in all versions, while in Hindi, Jawan should be able to hit this mark in the third week.## Meanwhile, with today's collection (second Thursday), Jawan also has crossed 2 crores footfalls in all versions, including approximately 1.70 crores in Hindi alone. Mumbai, September 13 - Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan continues to score big collections during the weekdays even after a monstrous opening weekend. The collection remains over 20 crores net in Hindi which is a fantastic hold, in its bid to become the 3rd Bollywood movie to top 500 crores lifetime Hindi net.## The day-wise trending of Jawan is better than SRK's last blockbuster Pathaan as collections on the first Monday and Tuesday are higher than the later one. On its first Wednesday, Jawan scored an estimated 21.50 crore net, which takes the total Hindi collection to around 327 crores in 7 days.## The drop today is around 10% from Tuesday which is fantastic as the collection yesterday was itself a huge one of 24 crores. Mumbai, September 11 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's action thriller Jawan has had a historic 4-day extended opening weekend at the worldwide box office. The movie shattered records everywhere and emerged as a new box office king.## The movie starring Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role has become the fastest Bollywood movie ever to top 500 crores at the global box office. After the record 130 crores opening, "Jawan" stayed over 100 crores each day throughout the first week, becoming the joint first Indian movie to score 4 consecutive 100+ crores day globally.## "Jawan" grossed approximately 521 crores worldwide over its 4-day weekend which is the fastest for a Bollywood movie ever. Shah Rukh Khan's own movie, "Pathaan" took 5 days to top 500 crores worldwide gross. The latest blockbuster, however, fell short to top "Pathaan's" 5-day opening weekend collection of 542 crores. ## Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee Kumar, "Jawan" was the second highest-grossing movie globally during the weekend of 7-10 September with $62.70 million (521 crores), behind the Hollywood horror thriller "The Nun 2" which grossed an estimated $85.3 million (710 crores) worldwide.## At the domestic box office, "Jawan" minted approximately 343 crores gross and an estimated 177 crores overseas. Mumbai, September 10 - Shah Rukh Khan is re-writing box office history books with his latest blockbuster Jawan which is scoring unheard numbers. After scoring the biggest single-day collection in Hindi on its 3rd day, the following day takes two steps ahead to unlock a new box office territory for Bollywood. ## "Jawan" has become the first movie ever to clock 70 crores net (unofficial) in a single day in Hindi. The estimates suggest 71+ crores net on its first Sunday/4th day and the collection might go towards 73 crores net depending on the hold in smaller centres. ## The 4-day extended opening weekend of the movie is around 252 crores in Hindi which actually exceeded expectations with the kind of response it is getting, something which was never seen before in Indian cinema. It has surpassed Thalapathy Vijay's "Bigil" lifetime worldwide collection of around 300 crores to become Atlee's biggest grosser ever.## Interestingly, "Jawan" is the maiden Bollywood venture for the Tamil filmmaker and also his first movie with the superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Mumbai, September 9 - Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has an explosive first Saturday at the domestic box office with collection nearing the first day total. The movie witnessing a jump of around 40% which is phenomenal as second-day numbers were itself huge.## According to the early estimates, Jawan is eyeing 66 crores net collection in Hindi on its third day. The final collection might vary a little bit here and there depending on the hold in smaller centres. The collection today is more or less similar to the first-day numbers which is insane trending, to say the least.## Apart from Hindi, Jawan has scored an estimated 8-9 crores net collection in Tamil and Telugu versions today, for an all-time 74-75 crores net first Saturday, which is again almost identical to the first-day collection. Mumbai, September 9 - Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2: The Katha Continues takes one step closer to Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" as far as the Indian box office is concerned.## The period action drama film, directed by Anil Sharma, has crossed SS Rajamouli's mega blockbuster "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" to become the second highest Hindi net collection scorer of all-time.
