Mumbai, September 27 - It was inevitable, and if all goes well, the historical year 2022 is awaits for not only the Bollywood film industry but also the Indian cinema. For one and a half years, the biggest film industry in the country, Bollywood was in desperate need of someone to show them the light of a long dark tunnel. And it seems happening, finally, thanks to the rapid nationwide vaccination against the deadly covid-19, and the long-awaited announcement of theater reopening in Maharashtra, the key market for Hindi cinema. ## Need not to say that the Bollywood industry was trending throughout the day yesterday (September 26) for the big release announcements, a day after the government of Maharashtra permitted theaters to operate from October 22. While there will a lot of action for movie buffs throughout the next year, the busy schedule also invites big box office clashes for Bollywood filmmakers, which is perhaps the last thing they want.## Over the next 7-8 months, Bollywood will release at least 20 movies along with dubbed big movies in theaters. Akshay Kumar Gears For A Blockbuster Year of 2022 With Back-To-Back Movie Releases

Mumbai, September 26 - It has been a crazy day for the movie buffs, thanks to a slate of big release date announcements from the Bollywood film industry. After waiting for more than one and a half years, the rapid countrywide vaccination and theater reopening announcement in Maharashtra lures Bollywood filmmakers to announce the release dates of their pending movies. ## On Sunday (September 26), there were as many as 16 release dates announcements of Hindi movies, and six of them are to release this year and the rest are set to hit big screens in 2022. Apart from today's five release date announcements, Akshay Kumar starrer "Sooryavanshi" will also be hitting theaters on Diwali this year, which was confirmed by director Rohit Shetty yesterday. ## Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will once again be in action throughout the year 2022. He is arguably the busiest actor in India and going with that reputation, he might have at least six movies releasing next year, including four confirmed releases. ## The first film of Padman actor to release next year is Yash Raj Films' historical action-drama "Prithviraj". The Chandraprakash Dwivedi directed will be hitting theaters worldwide on January 21. It also stars Manushi Chhillar in her Bollywood debut along with Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. ## Sajid Nadiadwala's "Bachchan Pandey", which was originally announced for January 26, 2022, has been pushed to March 4 in theaters worldwide. It stars Akshay Kumar in the lead along with Kriti Sanon, and Jacqueline Fernandez as the female leads, and Arshad Warsi in a key role. ## Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar's second collaboration with Anand L Rai, will debut in theaters on August 11 during Independence Day week. Bhumi Pednekar plays the female lead opposite Akshay in this film. Then, Akshay's magnum opus "Ram Setu" will light up Diwali 2022. Apart from the confirmed movies, Akshay may also have Oh! My God 2, Cinderella, and Atrangi Re next year.## It is to be noted that Bollywood filmmakers had made a similar announcement earlier this year after theaters were reopened. Release Dates Of Much-Awaited Films Prithviraj, Laal Singh Chaddha, 83, Bachchan Pandey, Jersey, Among Others Announced

Mumbai, September 26 - The government of Maharashtra, on September 25, announced that the theaters in the state will be permitted to operate from October 22. The announcement came after filmmaker Rohit Shetty among others met the state CM and urged him to reopen theaters as it is the biggest market for Hindi films. ## Upon the good news, Shetty announced the release date of his long-awaited "Sooryavanshi" on Diwali this year. This actually paves the way for other filmmakers and studios to follow the suit and finalize the premiere dates of their pending films that include medium to big-budget films. ## Yash Raj Films was one of the firsts to announce the release dates of its four movies. Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chillar starrer historical drama film "Prithviraj" has been confirmed to debut in theaters on January 21, 2022. Jayeshbhai Jordaar, starring Ranveer Singh Shalini Pandey, will now hit theaters on 25 February 2022 while Ranbir Kapoor's "Shamshera" arrives on March 18, 2022. ## "Laal Singh Chaddha", one of the highly awaited films starring superstar Aamir Khan, has been pushed to Valentine's Day weekend in 2022 from Christmas 2021. Maharashtra Government Announces The Reopening Of Theaters After Filmmaker Rohit Shetty And Others Met State CM

Mumbai, September 25: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday announced that cinema halls and drama theatres in the state will be allowed to operate from October 22 on the condition that they follow all the protocols required to prevent the spread of coronavirus.## The standard operating procedure (SOPs) regarding cinema reopening is in the works and will be issued soon. Earlier in the day, filmmaker Rohit Shetty along with Jayantilal Gada of PEN Studios, and representative of multiplex owners met chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and discussed the theater reopening status and urged him for urgent action. ## Theatres and auditoriums in Maharashtra will open after 22nd October 2021 while observing all COVID safety protocols. It is reported that Bollywood filmmakers are eyeing the Diwali 2021 release for some of their most anticipated films. ## The persence of Rohit Shetty in the meeting with CM Uddhav Thackeray indicates that his directorial "Sooryavanshi" may release during the upcoming big festival season. "Sooryavanshi" starring Akshay Kumar has been on waiting mode since March 2022 and it has already been one and a half years since then. ## Apart from "Sooryavanshi", Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer "Antim: The Final Truth", and Ayushmann Khurrana's "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" are also gearing up for Diwali 2022 release. Ajay Devgn And Drishyam Cast Set To Reprise Their Roles In Drishyam 2!

Mumbai, September 23: Superstar Ajay Devgn has locked one more film in his long list of the upcoming slate. The actor, who is currently working on multiple films such as Mayday, Maidaan, Thank God, and Disney+Hotstar series Rudra, is all set to return as Vijay Salgaonkar in the sequel to the blockbuster "Drishyam".## Earlier in May this year, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak's Panorama Studios International had acquired the Hindi remake rights of Mohanlal starrer suspense thriller "Drishyam 2". The latest development around the Hindi remake is that it is set to go on floors in December this year after Ajay Devgn finishing his current projects. ## According to Peepingmoon, Ajay Devgn has given his dates from late December to this sequel that will be the remake of Mohanlal's critically acclaimed Malayalam film, Drishyam 2: The Resumption. The sequel will also see Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta reprising their roles from the first part which was released in 2015. ## Abhishek Pathak, who made his directorial debut with Sunny Singh's "Ujda Chaman", will reportedly be directing "Drishyam 2". He has stepped in to helm this much-awaited thriller in the absence of the first part's director Nishikant Kamat who passed away last year due to multiple organ failure. ## The first part of Drishyam traced the struggle of Salgaonkar and his family who come under suspicion when the son of Inspector General Police gets killed. Kangana Ranaut Files A Counter Defamation Case Against Javed Akhtar

Mumbai, September 20, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut appeared before a magistrate's court in Andheri, Mumbai, for the hearing in the defamation case filed against her by veteran Bollywood lyricist, Javed Akhtar. ## The court had directed the actress last week to appear on the next date, failing which it would issue an arrest warrant. After Kangana's appearance, the court adjourned the matter to November 15. ## Kangana, however, is not happy with the in-charge court on the grounds and moved a plea before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate seeking a transfer of the defamation case as she has "lost faith". She also filed a counter defamation case against Akhtar. Both will be heard on October 1. ## In her complaint against the veteran lyricist, Ranaut has accused him of extortion and criminal intimidation among other charges. Actor Sonu Sood Evaded Over Rs. 20 Crore In Taxes, Violated FCRA Norms, Claims IT Department

Mumbai, September 18, 2021: The Income Tax department, which had speed up and widened its tax evasion probe against actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, has claimed in a statement that the actor has evaded taxes of over Rs. 20 crore. ## After conducting raids at the actor's premise for three days in a row at different locations, the department today said that it has found incriminating evidence pertaining to tax evasion during the search. "The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities", the IT department said in a statement. ## Sonu Sood has been hailed as massiah for his philanthropical efforts during the covid-19 lockdown and tried to help people as much as he could. He had recently announced a tie-up with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.## "Investigations so far have revealed use of 20 such entries, the providers of which, on examination, have accepted on oath to have given bogus accommodation entries. They have accepted to have issued cheques in lieu of cash. There have been instances where professional receipts have been camouflaged as loans in the books of accounts for the purpose of evasion of tax. It has also been revealed that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties. The total amount of tax evaded unearthed so far, amounts to more than Rs. 20 crore", the statement further read.## The CBDT said that the foundation has collected donations worth Rs. 18.94 crore from April 1, 2021, till date, out of which it has spent around Rs. 1.9 crore towards various relief work while the balance of Rs. 17 crore has been found lying unutilised in the bank account of the foundation.## "It is seen that funds to the tune of Rs. 2.1 crore have also been raised by the charity foundation from overseas donors on a crowdfunding platform in violation of (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) FCRA regulations", the CBDT statement added.## The department also said that cash of Rs 1.8 crore has been seized during the searches and 11 lockers have been placed under prohibitory order.
