Suriya 40 First Look: Suriya's Film With Director Pandiraj Titled 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan'

Chennai, July 22, 2021: Ahead of Tamil superstar Suriya's 46th birthday, the makers of his next film with director Pandiraj have unveiled the title and first look poster. The movie, titled "Etharkkum Thunindhavan", is the 40th film of Suriya's career and it is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. ## Sun Pictures took to Twitter and revealed the title and first look of Suriya40. Etharkkum Thunindhavan is currently on floors and will be wrapped soon. Have a look at the first look motion poster of Suriya 40 below. ## ## The movie also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, and Ilavarasu in prominant roles. D Imman has composed the music which marks his first assignment with Suriya. Rathnavelu has been roped in as the cinematographer.## Etharkkum Thunindhavan marks Suriya's 3rd collaboration with Pandiraj. He had earlier done a cameo in Pandiraj's film Kadaikutty Singam and later he even produced the director's Pasanga 2: Haiku. However, it is the first time the actor is playing a complete role in the director's film. ## Apart from Suriya 40, Suriya will also be seen next in "Vaadivaasal" directed by Vetrimaaran. The title logo of Vaadivaasal was unveiled on July 16. Vaadivasal is a place in Madurai district, Tamil Nadu, where Jallikattu is celebrated with much fanfare by visitors from the state as well as the country. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Resumes Shooting For Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan

Pondicherry, July 22, 2021: Filmmaker Mani Ratnam recently announced that his upcoming Tamil epic, Ponniyin Selvan will release in two parts. The first part will release in summer 2022. Ratnam has written, directed, and co-produced this magnum opus under his production studio Madras Talkies, along with Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions. Ponniyin Selvan, which is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's five-book novel of the same name, has an ensemble of actors like Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others. Meanwhile, after the lead actors in Jayam Ravi and Karthi joined the shoot in Pondicherry recently, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has also reportadly come into the sets to shoot for the film. The actress essays a dual role in the film as Nandhini and Mandakini Devi. Madras High Court Comes Down Hard On Actor Vijay And Fined Rs. 1 Lakh For Seeking Tax Exemption For His Rolls Royce Ghost

Chennai, July 13, 2021: The Madras High Court has slammed Tamil superstar Vijay for seeking tax exemption for his Rolls Royce Ghost, which he bought in 2012 in England. Dismissing a writ petition filed by actor Joseph Vijay in 2012, the HC also slapped a fine of ₹1 lakh to be paid by him to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund.## Justice S.M. Subramaniam came down heavily on the actor and said that his fans consider him a real hero in Tamil Nadu. Thus, the actors should behave accordingly and not reel heroes. The HC also criticized Mr. Vijay for not having even disclosed his occupation in the affidavit filed in support of his case.## "It is surprising to note that the petitioner has not even stated his profession or occupation in his affidavit. He has imported a prestigious costly car from England but unfortunately, not paid entry tax as per the statutes. He has filed a writ petition to avoid payment of tax... The petitioner, who is a reputed cine actor, is expected to pay the tax promptly and punctually", the judge said.## "In the State of Tamil Nadu, cine heroes have risen as rulers of the State and therefore, the people are under the impression that they are real heroes. Thus, they are not expected to behave like reel heroes. Tax evasion is to be construed as an anti-national habit, attitude and mindset and unconstitutional", he added.## "The common men are motivated and encouraged to behave as lawful citizens and pay tax and to thrive hard to achieve social justice in the society. If the rich, affluent and reputed persons fail to pay the tax as applicable, then this Court with pain, records that it would be a long way to achieve the constitutional goals", the court obesereved. ## Meanwhile, on the work front, Vijay is currently shooting for his next film titled "Beast" with director Nelson Dilipkumar. National Award-Winning Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan On Board For Kamal Haasan's Vikram

Chennai, July 3, 2021: After the months-long wait, the makers of the Tamil film, Vikram, dropped an update on the film. Lokesh Kanagaraj, who will be helming this Kamal Haasan starrer, took to social media and announced acclaimed Cinematographer, Girish Gangadharan on board. Girish Gangadharan has cranked the camera for Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar (2018), which marked his debut in Tamil, along with the 2019 Malayalam film, Jallikkattu, among others. Girish won the National Film Award for Best Cinematography for Jallikkattu, which was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. The makers of the film have already completed almost 90% of the shoot while the last schedule is currently underway in Hyderabad. Now, according to the latest buzz in Kollywood, the first look of Dhanush from his 43rd film could be released on his birthday on July 28. Malavika Mohanan is playing the female lead opposite Dhanush in the film. The film is being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. While Disney Plus indeed approached the "Doctor" team to grab the streaming rights, it has also been said that the streaming giant also wanted the satellite rights to be given to Vijay TV. But KJR Studios had already inked a deal with Sun TV for the TV premiere, so things didn't go as per plan. ## And now, if there is anything to go by the buzz, Doctor will be hitting theaters on August 14 or 15 this year. Chennai, June 28, 2021: The dynamic trio of Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Akkineni, and Nayanthara have teamed up together for the first time in Vignesh Shivan's Tamil romantic comedy "Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal". ## While Samantha and Nayanthara have already worked with Vijay Sethupathi in Super Deluxe and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, respectively, it is also the first time when two leading ladies of South India working together in a film. ## The shooting of the film was supposed to take place in April 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. In May 2020, the production house announced that the film will go on floors from August 2020.
