'The Batman 2' Release Date Postponed

Los Angeles, December 28 - Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back director Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 by a year and it will now arrive in 2027. The film is the follow-up to Reeves' The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role. ## The superhero sequel was originally supposed to be released on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and debut on October 1, 2027, in Imax, Warner Bros. announced on Friday. The production of the film is expected to start next year.## Reeves' The Batman was released in March 2022 and grossed over $772 million at the worldwide box office, including $369 million domestically. It was one of the highest-grossing films of 2022 and the biggest superhero grosser for Warner Bros. post the Covid-19 pandemic. ## Meanwhile, the Alejandro González Iñárritu's directorial an untitled movie with Tom Cruise has taken The Batman 2's original release date. Box Office: 'Baby John' Opening Day And 'Pushpa 2' 21st Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, December 25 - Varun Dhawan's mass action entertainer Baby John is the last big Bollywood release of 2024 and it has taken a decent opening at the box office with double-digit numbers. ## The opening of Baby John got a push due to the Christmas holiday, however, at the same time, it was affected by strong holdovers like Pushpa 2 and Mufasa as early estimates suggest a 12-12.50 crore net opening for Varun Dhawan-starrer.## The film opened on the projected lines, however, being a mass movie and a holiday release, Baby John was expected to open much higher which didn't happen. The initial word of mouth seems to be mixed which might not be enough given the strong competition it has. ## Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule once again remained the first choice in Hindi despite being in its third week and against a direct new Bollywood film. It is running riot at the moment with no sign of slowing down anytime soon. ## On its 3rd Wednesday (21st day), Pushpa 2 scored an estimated 14-16 crores net collection in Hindi, jumping around 30% from Tuesday which is sensational. With this, the total collection of the film has reached 715+ crores net in the dubbed version and the 800 crores net club looks well within the reach that is no less than a dream. ## Meanwhile, another film of the day is Kichcha Sudeep's action thriller Max which has taken the biggest opening of 2024 for a Kannada movie. Mumbai, December 25 - Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan has reunited with his Satyaprem Ki Katha director Sameer Vidwans for a new love story film titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri which will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions in association with Namah Pictures. ## TMMTMTTM marks Kartik's maiden collaboration with Karan Johar after the duo came close to joining hands previously on Dostana 2 which also reportedly brought a major fallout between them before things became normal again. The movie was earlier supposed to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala but it didn't happen due to unknown reasons. ## The movie is touted as an ambitious one and will reportedly be made on a budget of 150 crores. The shoot of TMMTMTTM will commence next year and it will have a grand worldwide release in 2026. Suriya 44 Gets Official Title Teaser; Confirmed For Summer 2025 Release

Chennai, December 25 - Tamil star Suriya has teamed up with director Karthik Subbaraj for an action drama film centred around a love story. It is the 44th film of Suriya and on Wednesday, the makers announced its official title as Retro with the teaser.## The teaser reveals Suriya as a Southern Tamil Nadu native with a gang mafia as a family business while Pooja Hegde plays his love interest. It shows Suriya's character attempting to reform himself for the sake of love as he promises to his lover to give up anger, and violence. ## The film is produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment in association with Stone Bench Films and Shakti Film Factory. Retro, which also stars Jayaram, Nasser, Joju George, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, and Karunakaran, among others is confirmed for the Summer of 2025 big screen debut in multiple languages.## The music of the film is done by Santhosh Narayanan while Shreyaas Krishna is the cinematographer. Mumbai, December 24 - Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has officially announced its next romantic comedy Param Sundari with Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in the leading roles. The movie will be directed by Tushar Jalota of Dasvi fame. ## Set against the breathtaking backwaters of Kerala, Param Sundari is a cross-cultural romance tale of young love where North ka munda Param (Sidharth) meets South ki Sundari Sundari (Janhvi). It is in the line of Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's 2 States. ## The film "promises a heartfelt tale of love, where two worlds collide, and sparks are bound to fly. Set against the breathtaking backwaters of Kerala, this love story is a rollercoaster of laughter, chaos, and unexpected twists you won't see coming". ## Producer Dinesh Vijay told Variety, "The kind of music it has and Janhvi playing a South Indian is interesting, Sid’s playing a Northern Delhi boy and the conflict is very cool. Superstar Mohanlal Confirms 'Drishyam 3' In The Works; Also Talks About The Popularity of The Franchise

Kochi, December 24 - Superstar Mohanlal has officially confirmed that the third instalment of the blockbuster suspense crime thriller franchise, Drishyam in development. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, it is one of the first Malayalam film franchises which got Pan India recognition. ## After the original Drishyam became a massive success in 2013, Drishyam 2 was a direct OTT release in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been remade in multiple Indian and international languages, and it is the Hindi remake of both parts which turned into massive box office successes. ## Ever since the second part became a big success on OTT, there have been talks about Drishyam 3. Director Jeethu Joseph previously confirmed that the plans for the third installment are on but he wasn't sure when it will happen. Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who headlined the Hindi remake, also confirmed recently that the film is indeed in development. ## Now, superstar Mohanlal confirmed the same in an interview given to Tamil media outlet Galatta as part of the promotion of his directorial debut film Barroz which he has also headlined. The legendary actor also talked about how he got the Drishyam franchise which was also pitched to other Malayalam stars before it came to him.## "The script for Drishyam was in the director's hands five years before the shooting. It is known that the script was presented to many people. But they were not convinced by this film. It was Antony who told me that there is such a subject and if I could listen to it. When I heard the script, I was shocked. It was unbelievable", the Lucifer actor said. ## Mohanlal further talked about how Drishyam became a cult classic among the Pan-Indian audiences and brought a pan-Indian reach to Malayalam cinema. ## "The thing that made people interested in that film was the fact that it was a man standing up for his family. Recently, when the shooting (for one of his films) was going on in Gujarat, many people from there recognized me because of Drishyam. After Drishyam 2, they (the foreign audience) started watching more Malayalam films. It was a film that brought a pan-Indian reach to Malayalam. We are now trying to bring Drishyam 3", he added.## As has been reported previously, the production for Drishyam 3 is expected to commence in 2025 and it is likely to be shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Hindi with the original cast of the respective films. Hyderabad, December 21 - Superstar Allu Arjun holds a press meeting to respond to the allegations made against him by the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy in the Sandhya Theatre Stampede which occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2 - The Rule on December 4. ## On December 21, Reveanth Reddy made serious allegations against the actor and tried to character-assassinate him by calling his actions inhuman. Mr Reddy had alleged that even after the incident of the stampede happened, the actor didn't leave the theatre despite knowing about the death of a woman. ## The CM also said that even on the way back, Allu Arjun was waving his hands towards the crowd from the roof of the car. Denying the allegations, Allu Arjun said to the press that there is a lot of misinformation and character assassination against him. ## The actor said that no police came to the theatre to tell him about the woman's death. It was his staff that told him about the stampede and asked him to leave and only by the next day morning, he came to know about the unfortunate incident, according to the actor.## About waving hands towards fans, AA said that if he doesn't show up, people think he is arrogant. He seemingly looked very disappointed by all the allegations made against him and he called them 100% false. Telangana CM Puts Serious Allegations On Superstar Allu Arjun In Sandhya Theater Stampede Case

Hyderabad, December 21 - Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fired heavy shots on superstar Allu Arjun in the recent Sandhya Theater Stampede case in which a woman died while her son got severely injured. The actor has been facing legal trial in the case and even was arrested a few days ago before getting interim bail by the High Court. ## The incident occurred on December 4 when Allu Arjun went to watch the premiere of his blockbuster film Pushpa 2 - The Rule in Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad. Due to the heavy rush of his fans, the stampede happened which claimed a precious life. The incident was discussed in the Assembly on Saturday (December 21). ## During his speech, CM Reventh Reddy lambasted the actor and the film fraternity for their inhuman attitude towards the victims. Putting serious allegations on Allu Arjun, the CM said that the actor was denied permission to visit the theatre, and despite that, he watched the film amid a massive crowd. ## Mr Reddy also alleged that even after the incident of the stampede happened, the actor didn't leave the theatre until the DCP came and forcibly put him in the car and even warned him of immediate arrest knowing the seriousness of the case.## "Even on the way back", Reddy said that "He (Allu Arjun) was waving his hands towards the crowd from the roof of the car". The CM questioned the inhuman side of the actor as well as other film fraternity people as none of them responded to the death of the woman in Stampede. ## The CM further said what kind of message the film fraternity was giving when they went to meet Allu Arjun one by one after he came out of jail. Box Office: 'UI', 'Marco', And 'Viduthalai Part - 2' Opening Day Early Estimates

Bengaluru, December 20 - Amid Pushpa 2 - The Rule's rampage at the box office, the new pre-Christmas 2024 weekend Indian releases are off to a good start. Director Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part - 2, Upendra's UI, and Malayalam title Marco among others hit the screens on December 20. ## Viduthalai Part 2 was the biggest opener among the new Indian titles and it has opened almost double the first movie. According to the early estimates, the crime thriller grossed an estimated 8 crores, including around 6.50 crores in Tamil Nadu on its opening day.## Kannada star and director Upendra's dystopian science fictional action UI has exceeded expectations and taken the biggest opening of 2024 for a Kannada title. Per estimates, the film has grossed in the range of 7.50-8 crores, which includes around 80 lakh in the Telugu version, on its first day.## The Malayalam A-rated action thriller, Marco starring Unni Mukundan, is another film of the day which performed well above expectations. Touted as the most violent Mollywood title ever, the movie scored an estimated 5 crores gross on its first day. ## The word of mouth for all three aforementioned films is superb which should lead them to a very good holiday week. Meanwhile, there was one more big Hollywood film released in the form of Disney's Mufasa - The Lion King, in the voices dubbed by superstars like Shah Rukh Khan (Hindi) and Mahesh Babu (Telugu). ## The animated adventure film performed very well on its first day in India, scoring an estimated 9-10 crores net collection in all versions.
