'Doctor Strange 2' Star Benedict Cumberbatch Jokes About Will Smith's Oscars Slap Controversy

Los Angeles, May 9 - Benedict Cumberbatch takes a dig at Will Smith's infamous slap to comedian Chris Rock in the recently concluded Oscars, in 'Saturday Night Live' monologue. Benedict was nominated for the Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance in "The Power of the Dog".## Cumberbatch said during his monologue, "I really am thrilled to be back hosting Saturday Night Live. It's been a really fun, great week. I have to be honest, though, because most of the sketch writers pitched me sketches every day, and most were about 'Doctor Strange' - which is great, I love the guy, I love playing the character, but I have been in other films".## He joked that Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of Saturday Night Live, asked him what other films he'd appeared in. The actor added, "I said, 'Well, like 'The Power of the Dog.' And he said, 'Nobody saw it.' I said, 'Come on, man, I was nominated for an Oscar for that.' I mean, I didn't win. I was beaten by Will Smith".## He then added: "No, not physically! Not physically!".## Will Smith, who won his maiden Oscar for his performance in "King Richard", smacked Chris Rock during the Oscars ceremony, after the stand-up comedian made a joke about his wife. The Academy has banned him from attending Oscars ceremonies for 10 years though he would be available for award nominations. ## Stay tuned...

Elizabeth Olsen Doesn't Want Kids To Think of Scarlet Witch As a Role Model

Mumbai, May 8 - Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is playing in the theaters and there is one actor winning all the accolades, is Elizabeth Olsen. She has played the role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch. ## The comic book superhero characters have always been favorites among people, especially kids who look up to them as role models. However, Elizabeth Olsen doesn't want kids to think of Scarlet Witch as a role model and she explained the reason for that. ## "I think the thing that I worry about is when people start saying, "Is she a role model to children?". And I don't like answering that question at all because she is a woman who's made big mistakes (in the movie), and I don't want to think of her as a role model, encouraging kids to make similar violent mistakes", Olsen said to comicbook.com.## "Yeah. The only thing that worries me is she became this thing that even little kids loved and then we're really pushing it with this one. So that's the one thing where I'm like, 'I don't want to answer role model questions", she added. ## Those who have watched the movie in theaters would know that Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff is the reason behind all the chaos in the movie as she believes that controlling the multiverse with America Chavez's power will allow her to reunite with Billy and Tommy, the children she created during her time in Westview. ## Stay tuned...

Chris Pratt Calls 'Jurassic World: Dominion' The End Of The Franchise

Mumbai, May 7 - Universal Pictures' upcoming science fiction adventure film, "Jurassic World Dominion" could be the end of the franchise, at least according to Chris Pratt. The sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and the sixth installment in the Jurassic Park franchise, the upcoming movie is directed by Colin Trevorrow. ## Jurassic World: Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live—and hunt—alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.## Pratt, who reprises his role as Owen Grady, said during a conversation with The Today Show that there's a measure of finality to Dominion that will surprise a ton of longtime fans of the franchise. ## "You know when you go to a fireworks display like the Fourth of July or New Years, there's always the finale? You're waiting for it, and then boom! And you're like, 'Oh! This is it! This is the finale!' I feel like the whole movie is that. It's 30 years in the making, it's the sixth Jurassic film, it's the end of this franchise", Pratt said. ## "Jurassic World Dominion" is the third Jurassic movie for Pratt, who first starred in 2015's "Jurassic World" movie. The actor recalled the time when the first movie in the franchise was released in 1990. ## "The first time I saw Jurassic Park, I was thirteen. I had no idea I was going to be an actor. If you would've told me that I would be doing this, there's no way I would've believed it. And these folks were cemented in my mind as icons, and so to be working with them is a dream come true", he added. ## Chris Pratt is live with us on the plaza! 🦖 pic.twitter.com/DkitwygiuP— TODAY (@TODAYshow) May 5, 2022 ## The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, BD Wong, Omar Sy, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, and Daniella Pineda reprising their roles from previous films in the franchise, and they are joined by DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, Campbell Scott, Scott Haze, and Dichen Lachman.## It is scheduled to release on June 10. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Advance Booking Status And Opening Day Prediction In India

Mumbai, May 5 - Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was one of the first films to bring the Indian box office on its strong feet with big box office numbers in December last year. And now, another Marvel movie with Disney, "Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness" is ready to roar in India. ## Directed by Sam Raimi, "Doctor Strange 2" has been one of the most-awaited non-Indian movies and the advance booking for the same was opened nearly a month before its release on May 6 in multiple languages. As expected, the superhero movie is getting a phenomenal response in the advance sales as it has already reached 28 crores gross. ## The original English version of the movie is leading the advance sales with approx. 19.70 crores gross, including all formats, followed by the Hindi version with approx. 7 crores gross. The Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada versions have scored approx. 1.30 crore in advance sales. ## The advance booking of the "Doctor Strange" sequel is very much in line with "Spider-Man: No Way Home" which scored 22.50 crores gross in advances for the first day, mostly with 50% occupancy. While Tom Holland-fronted movie took the opening of 32.67 crores net or 41.50 crores gross for all languages in India, "Doctor Strange" might open with a lesser number. As of now, the movie is tracking to earn around 30-32 crores net or 40 crores gross (+/-), which will be a huge opening. ## In a long run, "Doctor Strange 2" might not reach the box office figures of "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which grossed 260+ crores in India. The latest Marvel movie will have competition with domestic movies every week, unlike, "No Way Home", which had only "Pushpa - The Rise" and "83" as big competitors. ## Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams in prominent roles. In the film, Strange and his allies travel into the multiverse to protect a young girl from Wanda Maximoff, who has gone rogue and will stop at nothing to reunite with her own sons at all costs. ## Stay tuned...
