Written, directed, and headlined by Rishab Shetty, Kantara Chapter 1 started very well, scoring 18.50 crores net on its Thursday opening day. The film held strong on Friday before showing a solid jump on Saturday and Sunday to finish the opening weekend with 73.50 crores net. The positive word of mouth for the film helped it put up a good hold on Monday, before the discounted Tuesday saw it jumping by around 30% to collect over 10 crores net. On Wednesday, it maintained a strong hold, scoring approximately 8.25 crores, which pushed the total Hindi collection to around 102 crores in seven days.
