Bengaluru, August 21 - In 2022, the Kannada film industry had a major box office success besides Yash-fronted KGF: Chapter 2 in the form of an action thriller "Kantara". Rishab Shetty's directorial movie, which also featured Shetty in the lead role, grossed over 400 crores worldwide against a budget of just around 15 crores. ## Produced by Hombale Films, "Kantara" is one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema of all time, and very rightly so, the second part of the movie was also officially confirmed earlier this year. Now, according to Pinkvilla, "Kantara 2" will go on floors in November this year in Mangalore.## The script work of the movie has been completed and the makers are now busy with the pre-production work. "While the first part was shot in Shetty's hometown in Kandapura, Kantara 2 will prominently be shot in Mangalore. This location encompasses the required elements of jungle, land, and water as dictated by the script", says the report.## The movie will be shot over a period of 4 months on a bigger scale than the first part. "Kantara 2" is a prequel that explores the backstory of the folklore featured in the first part. Bengaluru, April 14 - Hombale Films, the studio behind one of the biggest blockbusters of the Indian cinema KGF: Chapter 2, has given a major hint for the film's third installment and in which timeline it will be set up. ## Hombale Films released a video celebrating the first anniversary of the Yash-fronted monster blockbuster. The video shared on social media features some of the biggest goosebumps moments from KGF: Chapter 2. At once, the video looked like the highlight of the film, but suddenly it gets interesting with a hint of 3rd film. ## At one point in the video, after Govinde Gowda, a peon at 24/News, urged Vijayendra Ingalagi (Prakash Raj) to preach only about incidents that were written in the book, the scenes from Rocky's death to finishing his enemies started getting reversed. ## We also know the KGF: Chapter 2 has left a time gap of 4 years (during which Rocky did many crimes in different countries) which many assumed to be the core plot of KGF: Chapter 3. Going by the video and the way the scenes were reversed, it is clear that the 3rd Chapter will be the prequel to Chapter 2. ## At the end of the video, the tagline "That promise will be kept", but "Was the promise kept?" leaves so many hints and confirms that there was so much in the story to explore which will be shown in the next film. It also means Yash will return as Rocky Bhai along with other characters and new ones. ## The makers recently revealed that KGF: Chapter 3 could start in 2025 and be released in 2026. Bengaluru, March 22 - Hombale Films delivered two mega-blockbusters last year in the form of KGF: Chapter 2 and Kantara which combed grossed over 1600 crores worldwide in a combined budget of approx. 120 crores. ## After such mega success, Hombale Films has become the synonym of blockbusters and there is genuine excitement regarding its next films. The studio will have a couple of releases this year, and one of them is Fahadh Faasil-fronted drama film "Dhoomam". ## "Dhoomam" was announced in September last year under the direction of Pawan Kumar, who directed the Kannada movie "U-Turn". Dhoomam is said to be the revival project of Pawan Kumar who reportedly wanted to make it with either Rakshit Shetty or Dhananjay under the title of C10H14N2 (the chemical formula of Nicotine). ## Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, Hombale Films is planning to release "Dhoomam" in the last week of June, either on June 23 or 30. It was made on a budget of approx. 15 crores and was released in the original language initially but became a nationwide sensation after releasing in other Indian languages. ## Overseas, it did business of approx. 44 crores and now, the makers want to cash in on the opportunity by releasing the movie in other international markets. Films like KGF: Chapter 2, Kantara, Charlie 777, and Vikrant Rona, among others, did wonders and turned out blockbusters, not just in Kannada but in other languages as well. ## The success of 2022 will be hard to replicate but there are some Kannada films for which the industry is hopeful of making an impact at the box office. Upendra and Kichcha Sudeepa's period action drama Kabzaa is one of the most anticipated Kannada movies that is carrying good buzz among moviegoers.## Directed by R. Chandru, "Kabzaa" is another Kannada movie that will be released in multiple languages this Friday (March 17). The advance booking for the same was opened a couple of days ago, and so far, it has sold approx. 140K tickets worth approx. 2.50 crores in all languages. ## The Kannada language is driving the pre-sales with approx. 70K tickets worth approx. 1.60 crores sold far. The final pre-sales could be over 2 crores in Kannada and over 3 crores overall which will be good.
