Bengaluru, December 24 - It has been a year to savor for Hombale Films which delivered two of the biggest blockbusters in the form of KGF: Chapter 2 and Kantara at the box office. The studio is fast becoming one of the most bankable across the country and drawing huge audiences to the theaters. ## Hombale Films is no longer a regional production studio after such mega success and its founder, Vijay Kiragandur believes they have now bigger responsibility to deliver quality content and said that their real challenge begins in 2023 with the kind of films the studio has in the line-up, including potential blockbuster, Salaar, starring Prabhas. ## "We have a lot of responsibility right now in terms of selecting the right content and devising the right marketing strategies. Next year is going to be challenging for us", Kiragandur told indianexpress.com.## Prabhas-fronted "Salaar" is currently in production under the direction of Prashanth Neel, who also directed "KGF 2" which grossed over 1200 crores worldwide. There have been multiple reports about "Salaar" coming in two parts, but the makers never confirmed that same. During the interview, Kiragandur said that they are very much open to the sequels to both "Salaar" and "Kantara" along with "KGF 3" and there might be multiple of them for Prabhas-starrer.## "At present, we are open to that idea. We are also open to making sequels for Salaar. We will take the call after we watch the finished film. The same is with KGF 3. After Prashanth is done with Salaar, we will discuss it".## "85 percent shooting of Salaar is complete and by January 2023, we will complete the remaining shoot. We need six months for the VFX work and on September 28 will release it in cinemas", the producer added and promised that "Salaar" will be an out-an-out mass entertainer. "I saw the rushes. It's an out-and-out action film. Prabhas and Prithviraj have done a superb job".## "I believe this film (Salaar) has the potential to beat the box office records created by our films so far", he said.## Prabhas plays the title role of "Salaar" in the movie that also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, and Jagapathi Babu, among others in key roles. The actress, who made her debut with the Kannada movie " Kirik Party" (2016) wasn't keen on uttering the name of the production house that gave her her first acting opportunity, in one of the recent interviews.## Rashmika's alleged negligence toward Kannada cinema led to an uproar and there were reports that Kannada production and distribution houses have decided to ban Rashmika and her films in Karnataka state, however, the same wasn't made official. ## Now, the "Pushpa" actress has reacted to the rumors and said that there is no truth about her ban in Kannada. She has always been one of the least-loved actresses from the very beginning of her career, but Rashmika said that people are overreacting to her about her personal life. ## "What happens in my personal life remains with me and those connected with me. During Kantara's release, a few people overreacted unnecessarily to me. But I didn't take it seriously. I even messaged Kantara's cast and crew to congratulate them on the success. Bengaluru, November 22 - Hombale Films has another reason to be proud as its latest sensation, Kantara has crossed 400 crores at the global box office in 53 days. It is the second back-to-back film for the studio to reach this rare box office milestone, after KGF: Chapter 2.## The Rishab Shetty-starrer has grossed a might 358.50 crores (304.10 crores net) in India, making it the third highest-grossing film at the domestic box office in 2022 after "KGF 2" and "RRR". Among the all-time domestic-grosser, "Kantara" is at the 17th number. ## Made with a budget of just 16 crores, "Kantara" has been excellent at the overseas box office as well as it performed much better than expected. It has grossed 43 crores internationally, helping worldwide gross cume to reach 401.50 crores, making it the 5th Indian film of 2022 and 24th of all-time to breach the milestone. ## Originally released in the Kannada language, the film was dubbed in other languages and released in theaters. Bengaluru, November 19 - Hombale Films' latest mega-blockbuster Kantara has outgrossed its own recent sensation KGF: Chapter 2 in the original Kannada language at the domestic box office.## The Rishab Shetty-starrer adventure action drama film has scored approx. 158 crores net in 49 days, beating "KGF 2's" approx. 154 crores net to become the biggest grosser ever in the Kannada language. "Kantara" has seen a much better trend than "KGF 2" at the box office, thanks to the never-ending social media buzz for the film.## Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, "Kantara" has also crossed 300 crores net mark with today's collection (8th Saturday), becomes the third Indian movie in 2022 to reach the milestone, and joins the big boys "KGF 2" and "RRR". Overall, it is the 16th Indian movie ever to reach 300 crores net collection. ## The original Kannada version has been the best-performing language in the "Kantara" collection, followed by Hindi with approx. 80 crores net (36 days), and Telugu with approx. 41.50 crores net (35 days). The adventure-action thriller film has grossed approx. 380 crores so far and likely to add a few more crores to its worldwide tally. ## Now, according to the latest reports, "Kantara" is getting ready to release digitally via Amazon Prime Video. It is said that the streamer is likely to premiere the movie on November 24, after 8 weeks of its theatrical run in all languages.## Initially, the makers were reportedly tempting to follow 6 weeks window for the movie but due to its blockbuster run at the box office, the makers postponed "Kantara's" digital release by two more weeks. But such has been the response to the film that even 100 crores have become a thing of the past as "Kantara" is now looking to reach 4X of 100 crores. ## As of today (November 11), the adventure action thriller film has grossed approx. 360 crores worldwide in 42 days. The movie has proved to be a horse of the long race and going by the current trend, it is not going to stop anytime soon. ## Despite new releases every week, "Kantara" continues to score over 2 crores net every day for all languages. While the movie will get slow at the box office from today onwards due to the challenge from notable releases, the movie still has an outside chance to breach 400 crores gross mark globally. ## Apart from reaching the milestone at the global box office, "Kantara" also has a chance to create history at the Karnataka box office by becoming the highest-grossing film ever in the state.
