Akshay Kumar Officially Announced OMG2 With First Look Posters

Mumbai, October 23 - Akshay Kumar has officially announced the sequel to his 2012 film "Oh My God" with two first look posters. The shooting of the film has already started recently with Pankaj Tripathi, who steps into the shoes of Paresh Rawal from the first film. Akshay joins the sets and started shooting for his portion.## It is being directed by Amit Rai and Akshay Kumar's Cape of Good Films in association with Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl. ## Sharing the first look posters, in which he can be seen in the role of Adiyogi, holding hands of someone else. While the makers haven't officially, Arun Govil, who played Lord Ram in the iconic tv show "Ramayan", will be reprising his role in the film. ## Meanwhile, OMG 2 will be different from the first part. While the first part was based on religious fanaticism and superstitions, the sequel will be based on the Indian education system (as hinted in the posters) with Pankaj Tripathi taking the center stage. Aditya Chopra's Directorial Debut 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' To Be Adapted Into A Broadway Musical

Mumbai, October 23 - Aditya Chopra is all set to mark his Broadway debut as a director with "Come Fall in Love — The DDLJ Musical", based on his 1995 blockbuster "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge". The musical version of Chopra's Bollywood directorial debut will open during the 2022-23 season, producers announced on Friday.## Chopra said in a statement that while DDLJ changed his and many others' life forever, he never intended to make this film in Hindi. "As a 23-year-old young man greatly influenced by Hollywood and American pop culture, I thought I would make a couple of Indian films, and then I would be off to Hollywood and make DDLJ for a worldwide English-speaking audience with Tom Cruise as my leading man", he said. ## "Twenty-six years later, I'm going back to my original vision of the story of DDLJ, a love story of an American guy and an Indian girl, a love story of two cultures … two worlds", he added. "But this time the medium is not cinema but theater. 26 year later I will be directing DDLJ all over again but this time as an English language Broadway musical for a worldwide audience". ## He added, "I'm terribly nervous and incredibly excited". ## The show will be produced by Yash Raj Films, and it will be a collaboration between an American and Indian creative team. Nell Benjamin ("Legally Blonde", "Mean Girls") will write the book and lyrics, and the Indian songwriters Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani will compose the music. Choreography will be by Rob Ashford, who won a Tony Award for "Thoroughly Modern Millie", and Derek McLane ("Moulin Rouge!", "Hairspray Live!") will design the set.## The musical will have its world premiere at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego in September 2022, with Broadway dates to be announced later. DDLJ, which marked Chopra's debut as director at the age of 23, was both critically and commercially hit and is one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. PVR Cinemas Opens Six-Screens Luxury Multiplex In Mumbai's Jio World Drive

Mumbai, October 22 - One of the leading multiplex chains in India, PVR Cinemas continues to increase its overall business properties. Having already 151 screens in the heartland of Hindi cinema, Maharashtra, PVR has now launched a new build six-screen luxury multiplex in Mumbai. ## Called Maison PVR, the new multiplex has been opened in Mumbai's Jio World Drive at BKC. The capacity of this luxury 6-screen multiplex is 882-seats, making it one of the largest multiplex in the area. PVR Cinemas now has 157 screens across 38 properties in Maharashtra. ## "Innovation and improvisation are in the DNA of our business which has echoed through our every offering. It is a proud moment for us to finally introduce our unique concept to the audience after the unprecedented times we battled through", said Ajay Bijli, the chairman and managing director of PVR Ltd. ## The luxury property will house two new LUXE screens and one viewing room for private screenings. The theater also features lounges, libraries with art, grand living rooms, and open kitchens with premium food concepts.## "PVR Maison is inspired by the French archetype and was born out of the quest to explore deeper and newer facets of luxury. It had a global creative team working on each aspect intricately to bring the best for our India patrons", he added.## Theaters in Maharashtra have been permitted to operate from October 22 with 50% seating capacity. Mumbai, October 21 - As Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming cop-drama film "Sooryavanshi", the talks about the box office potential of the film have started making noise. In normal times, this Rohit Shetty directorial could have easily become the highest-grossing film of all time for Akshay Kumar, but because of the covid-19 pandemic, things have become uncertain so is the box office success. ## However, despite the current circumstances, the movie is expected to do very well at the box office. The recent data by Ormax media suggests that the confidence among movie lovers has increased significantly to visit cinemas for the first time in the pandemic era. The success of the country on the vaccination front has also ensured that things are getting back to normal and visiting cinemas is safe for the public.## Meanwhile, there is chatter among the biz analysts and fans regarding the box office potential of "Sooryavanshi" and how much the film could make on its first day. The historical drama film was supposed to hit the floors in March 2020, but the covid-19 pandemic spoiled the party and the movie was put on hold indefinitely. ## With no development since the announcement, many thought the filmmaker might have dropped the idea of making this film. However, it was recently reported that the movie is still on and will take off at the right time. And now, the filmmaker himself clarified that "Takht" has not been shelved and will go on floors after his ongoing film "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead. ## In a conversation with Film Companion, Karan Johar explained the reason behind the project getting delayed and also said that it will be his immediate next film after the currently on floors, romantic-comedy RRKPK. "No, I am going to make that movie right after Rocky Aur Rani. I can't let that getaway. That film is a piece of my heart. It's got two and a half years of my prep work on it. We were rearing to go", Karan told. ## "I still remember we were starting on April 24 when the pandemic hit us in March. The film was so vast, voluminous and on a large scale, that on a daily basis, it needed a thousand people on set. It was that kind of film", he added. ## Calling the film his passion project, Karan further said, "I will always say, Rocky Aur Rani is my excitement project, but Takht is my passion project. And you cannot run away from your passion. Mumbai, October 21 - It was recently reported that actor Shahid Kapoor would be teaming up with producer Bhushan Kumar again after their blockbuster outing "Kabir Singh". The latest development is that the movie has been titled "Bull", which is set in the 1980s and inspired by events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara.## "Bull" will jointly be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Amar Butala and Garima Mehta's Guilty By Association. The in-demand duo of writers, Aseem Arrora and Parveez Shaikh have written the story and screenplay while Aditya Nimbalkar will be making his directorial debut with this film, set to go on floors in early 2022. ## "Bull is a full-blown action film inspired by real events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara", said Shahid Kapoor (via Deadline).
