Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra File Defamation Case Of Rs. 50 Crores Against Sherlyn Chopra

Mumbai, October 19 - Actress and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra has filed a defamation case of Rs. 50 crores against actress Sherlyn Chopra, according to a report by India Today. ## Chopra had earlier filed a sexual harassment case against businessman Raj Kundra and recently slapped another case against Shilpa and Raj with the Mumbai Police, accusing the duo of sexually and mentally harassing her. ## In response to Chopra's allegations, the husband-wife duo called her allegations fake, frivolous, and baseless without any evidence and in return, they slapped defamation case for maligning their image. ## "The entire allegations made by Ms. Sherlyn Chopra against Mr. Raj Kundra and Ms. Shilpa Shetty Kundra, are concocted, false, fake, frivolous, baseless, without any evidence, even to Ms. Sherlyn Chopra’s knowledge, and have been made with an ulterior motive to defame and extort money", read the statement issued by Shilpa and Raj, according to India Today. ## Sherlyn Chopra had earlier said that Raj Kundra and his firm's creative director repeatedly followed her to work for the mobile application named 'HotShots'. Mumbai, October 19 - Earlier this year, it was reported that filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar would be making an action film with actor Farhan Akhtar in the lead role. While there is no official confirmation on the same yet, it is now reported that the movie is slated to go on floors in December this year and Akhtar's production house Excel Entertainment is backing it. ## According to Peepingmoon, the makers have roped in the busy bee Rakul Preet Singh to play the female lead along with South Indian actor Jagapathi Babu, who will mark his Bollywood debut with this as the antagonist. The movie has reportedly been titled Pukar. ## "Ashutosh Gowariker's film with Farhan Akhtar has been titled Pukar. It's a contemporary action film set in a forest and will see Akhtar playing the role of a forest ranger. South sensation Rakul Preet Singh has been roped in to play the female lead in this film. Mumbai, October 19 - Arun Govil, known for playing Lord Ram in the iconic and epic tv serial, Ramayan, has reportedly been roped in to reprise the role in Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi starrer "Oh My God" sequel. Govil has become synonymous with the character of Lord Ram after playing the iconic role in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 TV show. ## Directed by Amit Rai and produced by Ashwin Varde and Akshay Kumar, "Oh My God 2" is the follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster film starring Akshay and Paresh Rawal in the leading roles. The sequel will feature Akshay reprising his role of Lord Krishna with Pankaj Tripathi stepping into the shoes of Paresh Rawal. Yami Gautam is said to be the leading lady in the film. ## According to India Today, Akshay Kumar was keen to bring Arun Govil on board to play Lord Ram. "There is no other face more recognizable to play Lord Ram than Arun Govil. It was a decision that the makers took unanimously", said the source to India Today.## Meanwhile, OMG 2 will be different from the first part. While the first part was based on religious fanaticism and superstitions, the sequel will reportedly be based on the Indian education system with Pankaj Tripathi taking the center stage. The shooting of the film has started recently and is expected to begin next schedule on October 23 in Ujjain. ## Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, has several films in the pipeline. He is currently shooting for magnum opus "Ram Setu" in Ooty and will soon join OMG 2 cast. Mumbai, October 16 - Legendary filmmaker Ramesh Sippy along with dream girl Hema Malini appeared in Amitabh Bachchan hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati 13 as special guests for the 'Shaandaar Shukravaar' episode. The iconic trio remembered the good old days of "Sholay" which is considered a benchmark film in Indian cinema.## During the special episode, Sippy, who directed the iconic "Sholay" (1975) revealed that why he chose Hema Malini for the role of Basanti and how did he think about 'Jai-Veeru' played by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra respectively. ## "See, Hema Ji in her first film with me had portrayed the role of a young widow and in the second film, 'Seeta Aur Geeta', she surprised us. So, for the role of 'Basanti', I felt that no one can do it apart from her", the filmmaker told Big B. ## "Also, there was one more thing. When we completed 'Seeta Aur Geeta' and it became successful, it is then when we decided whatever I make after this, Dharam Ji, Hema Ji, and Sanjeev Ji must be there. And as the script of 'Sholay' was shaping up, it was fitting perfectly", he added.## Ramesh Sippy, who directed Big B in three more films after "Sholay", further revealed how he thought of Jai-Veeru and who suggested him to pick Amitabh Bachchan who wasn't a big star at that time. "We had 'Veeru', he was there in the last film, too. So, there was one thing that I had thought about is that we have three superstars and if I get one more superstar, it would be difficult for me, only".## "So, then I thought I need a good actor, who does good work and becomes a team. Because when Salim-Javed suggested Amit Ji for this role, saying there's one 'Amitabh Bachchan' who's doing good work and is working with us in 'Zanjeer'. I said ok, that's good. And, then I thought that he's not a star at the moment so I won't have that problem that there's one more star on the set", he said. ## The filmmaker also said that Big B did a great job in "Anand" and then "Bombay to Goa". He also remembered the dance by Big B in a bus in the film "Bombay to Goa" and got the idea of picking Big B. "I felt this seems to be an actor who can do anything. So, he will be able to give us what we want. That's how the casting was done", he added.## To all that Sippy said, Amitabh acknowledges and responded: "Thank you very much, Sir". Replying to this, Sippy shared: "You proved it. And by the time the film released, you became the biggest star".## "Sholay" was released on Independence day in 1975 and was the highest-grossing Indian film at that time. On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra (October 15), the Rohit Shetty directorial kick starts promotion with 20 days to go for films' worldwide theatrical release on November 5.## To begin the promotion, the makers released a video featuring Akshay Kumar along with Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, requesting fans to come to theaters to watch the film. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh play extended cameos in the film as Singham and Simmba respectively. Mumbai, October 15 - On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, two of the most anticipated Hindi remakes of the Tamil blockbuster movies, "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam" have started filming. Both "Vikram Vedha" and "Thadam", went through some big changes before makers finally took the films on floors on October 15. ## Vikram Vedha is a gangster cop drama film that stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles along with Rohit Saraf and Radhika Apte. Hrithik steps in the shoes of Vijay Sethupathi from the original film and plays a gangster while Saif Ali Khan reprises R Madhavan's role of a cop. Pushkar – Gayatri (a husband-wife duo), who helmed the original Vikram Vedha, are also on board to direct the Hindi version as well. ## The film draws from the ancient lore of Vikram-Betaal, where a wily gangster manages to escape every time a determined cop nabs him, by narrating a new story drawn from his own life. Having multiple projects already in the pipeline, Akshay's hands are full of upcoming films, yet he is in no mood to put a break on his busy schedule. ## Ahead of the release of his big-budget actioner "Sooryavanshi", Akshay Kumar has finalized one more film, which will go on floors next year. The actor has teamed up with producer Anand L Rai once again for a film based on the life of the legendary officer of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army, Major General Ian Cardozo. ## Akshay will portray Ian Cardozo, who was awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (SVSM) and Sena Medal (SM) for his service to the Indian army. Major Ian Cardozo was the first war-disabled officer of the Indian Army to command a battalion and a brigade. Titled "Gorkha", the movie will be directed by the National award-winning director Sanjay PS Chauhan. Sanjay Chauhan has two films to his name - Lahore (2010), Bahattar Hoorain (2019).## Chauhan won the National award for direction for Bahattar Hoorain and for the best debut film for Lahore. It will be his first collaboration with Akshay and Anand L Rai, who will be producing the film in association with Himanshu Sharma.
