Mumbai, August 13 - Maddock Films' horror-comedy Stree 2 is a one-horse race in the much-talked-about clash with Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa on August 15.## Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, Stree 2 is looking at a massive opening at the box office and easily the biggest of 2024 for a Bollywood title after the record-breaking pre-sales of the year for any movie in the Hindi version.## The Amar Kaushik's directorial has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD (8.65 crores gross) and Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (8.40 crores) to score the biggest opening day booking of 2024 in Hindi. As of 9 PM on August 13, the total opening day (excluding previews) pre-sales of Stree 2 is approximately 9 crores gross with over 300K tickets sold (without block seats).## With still more than a day left, Stree 2 is looking to score over 15 crore gross advance sales and it will most likely beat Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki which scored approximately 15.50 crore pre-sales on the opening day. If it does, Stree 2 advance will be the biggest for a Bollywood title since Ranbir Kapoor's Animal. ## The excellent booking of the film has ensured the biggest opening of 2024 in Hindi beating Fighter and Kalki's 22.50 crores net. Chennai, August 13 - The much-anticipated trailer of Tamil star Suriya's fantasy action thriller film Kanguva was released on August 12 and it largely met with positive reception. Directed by Siva, the movie also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in prominent roles.## Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, the Kanguva trailer scored 19+ million views in the first 24 hours and it was the most-viewed video on YouTube in the world in the past 24 hours. Additionally, the trailer scored 700K+ likes during the same period.## The trailer of the movie was released in multiple languages in a single video on the Saregama Tamil YouTube channel. Mumbai, August 13 - Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Majnu is having a fantastic re-release run at the domestic box office and is all set to surpass its lifetime original run in the flat 5 days which is an incredible achievement.## The Sajid Ali's directorial movie scored approximately 70 lakh gross collection on its first Monday (4th day) which is almost 3X of the opening day (25 lakh gross). The total collection of the movie is now approximately 2.85 crores gross in 4 days which is already higher than the film's first week total of the original run.## Laila Majnu will outgross its final original run of approximately 3.20 crores gross in India in the flat 5 days which is an outstanding achievement. The movie remained solid on Saturday to score another approximately 1.85 crores gross. ## On Sunday, the collection further dropped but it was solid with approximately 90 lakh which took its total re-release worldwide cume to 8 crores gross. In India, it has minted approximately 7.30 crores while overseas collection is 70 lakh.## As said, Murari's re-release collection of 8 crores is now the highest for any Telugu re-release title, surpassing Pawan Kalyan's Kushi which scored around 7.50 crores worldwide. Though it was already known to everyone, the superstar made it official during a recent interaction at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, where he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award. King will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and it will also star SRK's daughter Suhana Khan in her big-screen debut. Talking about the movie, the Pathaan star said, "The next film that I am doing is King. I have to start working on it, lose some weight, stretch a little so my groin doesn't get caught while I am doing action". To be produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand's Marflix, King is said to be one of its one-of-a-kind action thrillers in which King Khan is reportedly playing the role of Don. The actor said that he wanted to do this kind of film for many years and finally has the script for the same. "There's a certain kind of film I want to do, where, maybe, it is more age-centric, and I want to try something. For 6-7 years, I have been thinking about it. I mentioned it to Sujoy one day, and he said, 'Sir, I have a subject," he added. King will start rolling by the end of this year, and it will be released in the second half of 2025. Mumbai, August 12 - Avinash Tiwary and Triptii Dimri's romantic drama Laila Majnu was recently re-released amid the growing trend and to everyone's surprise, the movie has been doing fantastically at the box office unlike its original run back in 2018.## The Ekta Kapoor-produced heartbreaking tale of romance went unnoticed when it was first released in 2018 and grossed just a little over 3 crores at the Indian box office. However, the film's popularity grew over the years and it found appreciation among the audiences, thanks to television and OTT platforms.## In the 3-day opening weekend of its re-release, Laila Majnu grossed approximately 2.15 crores which is higher than the first weekend of its original run. In North America, the movie has minted $494.3 million (4150 crores) while the overseas collection is $535.2 million (4495 crores) over 52 markets.## Notably, Deadpool & Wolverine is only the second movie of 2024 after Inside Out 2 to top $1 billion globally. IO2 is currently the biggest grosser with $1.59 billion as the 10th highest-grossing movie of all time, behind The Lion King ($1.65 billion).## Deadpool 3 has broken into the top 50 movies ever and is currently the 48th highest-grossing title.
