The movie was officially announced recently with the commencement of the shoot. ## Now, the makers have locked Vaani Kapoor to play the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in Raid 2. The actress has replaced Ileana D'Cruz and will reportedly play the role of Ajay Devgn's wife in the crime drama. Ajay will reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik. ## It is said that Ileana D'Cruz let go of the movie to focus on her personal life and this came as a big opportunity for Vaani Kapoor who has already joined the shoot. Hyderabad, January 5 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram is all set to hit the big screens on January 12, and the preparations are being made for the grand release worldwide. ## The last time Mahesh Babu released his film at the Sankranthi festival, it went on to become his highest-grossing in the form of Sarileru Neekevvaru, and the expectations are even higher this time. Guntur Kaaram is one of the most-anticipated Telugu movies of the year and the trade is expecting it to turn out big box office success. ## The film has done a record pre-release theatrical business worldwide for Mahesh Babu, even though it is going to release in a jam-packed festive weekend. Global Box Office Jumped By 31 Percent In 2023 From Previous Year

Los Angeles, January 5 - The global box office in 2023 witnessed a jump of 31% as estimated from the previous year 2022, according to estimates released Thursday by leading U.K.-based analytics firm Gower Street (via The Hollywood Reporter). ## The report suggests that the global box office revenue in 2023 hit $33.9 billion, a gain of 31% over 2022's $25.9 billion, but was still 15% behind the average of the three years before the pandemic (2015-2019). Despite the sharp rise in 2023, the box office is yet to match the level of pre-pandemic.## The Hollywood Box Office jumped to $9.05 billion in 2023, an increase of 21% from 2022. The non-Hollywood revenue made a roaring comeback last year with a jump of 35% to $24.8 billion over 2022. According to Gower Street, China was the biggest contributor with $7.71 billion, an enormous 83% gain over 2022 and only 6% behind the pre-pandemic 2017-2019 average. ## Outside Hollywood and China, the box office jumped by 20% to $17.1 billion from 2022. The Indian box office gained around 8% to $1.40 billion from 2022. ## In 2023, Warner Bros. "Barbie" ($1.44 billion) and Universal/Illumination's "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" ($1.36 billion) were the two films which grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
