Netflix's New Viewership Metrics See Major Changes In Its Top 10 List Across Categories

Mumbai, June 21 - The leading streaming platform, Netflix has made some major changes in its viewership metrics which resulted in some major shakeups in its top 10 most popular titles across categories. ## Netflix will now report in average viewership for its programming as "views", which is hours viewed divided by total runtime. The views will now decide Netflix's top 10 weekly and all-time titles though hours viewed will still be available. The streamer also has expanded the viewership measurement window from 28 days to 91 days. ## The new changes have made "Wednesday" Season 1 the most popular English show of all time on Netflix with 252.1 million views, overtaking "Stranger Things 4's" 140.7 million views. However, in terms of viewing hours, ST4 remains the most-watched English show with 1.83 billion viewing hours, followed by "Wednesday" with 1.71 billion viewing hours.## The global Korean blockbuster series "Squid Game" still remains Netflix's most popular series ever (English or Non-English), even after the shift. It scored 265.2 million views and 2.2 billion viewing hours in the first 91 days. It is the only Netflix series or film to top 2 billion viewing hours of all time. ## Among the most popular films (English or non-English), "Red Notice" remains on the top even after changes with 230.9 million views and 454.2 million viewing hours in 91 days. Among the non-English films, the Norwegian monster film "Troll" remains unchanged with 103 million views and 178.6 million views hours. ## Meanwhile, no Indian film or series features in Netflix's 10 lists even after changes. Dhanush and Anand L Rai To Reunite For An Action Love Story

Mumbai, June 21 - Director Anand L Rai and actor Dhanush are teaming up again for the third time. It was ALR who successfully launched the Tamil star in Hindi with the love story film "Raanjhanaa" in 2013 before the duo reunited for "Atrangi Re" (2021) which also starred Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo. ## The duo is now reuniting for an action love story, titled Tere Ishk Mein, which is set to go on floors in November this year. It is said that ALR has been working on the script for some time now. Both the actor and director have had multiple meetings over the last few months.## On Wednesday (June 21), as Raanjhanaa celebrates its 10th anniversary, the makers announced the movie officially with the first look teaser which is looking impressive from word go and promises to be another blockbuster ride.## Anand L Rai took to Twitter to make the announcement and narrates to the audiences what they are going to witness. "Kuch kahaniyan kisi purane dost jaisi mil jaati hain! Jo haath nahin milaati, seedhe aake gale lag jaati hain. 10 saal pehle ek aisi hi kahani mili thi humein... Kundan ki kahani. Dost tha mera, par jee naa saka... uska mood nahi tha jeena ka!", he wrote. ## "Ab 10 saal baad phir ek kissa aaya hai; Kundan aur ye ladka ek se hi hain, bus iska mood duniya phoonk dene ka hai! Sirf aapke liye... 'Tere Ishk Mein'", the filmmaker added.## ## The movie is produced by Himanshu Sharma and written by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav. AR Rahman will score the music of the film. Apart from Dhanush, the makers are looking to cast an A-List actor to play the female lead and get a big ensemble on board the film. ## Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently shooting for the period action-adventure Tamil film "Captain Miller". It is set in the Madras Presidency of the 1930s and 40s. Dhanush will be sporting three different looks in the movie and the character will also have two more names. The makers haven't released much content about the movie so far but the first look glimpse got a huge positive response which increased the hype. ## Now, as the release is getting nearer (September 28), Hombale Films is gearing up to unveil the teaser and other stuff. In between the teaser talks, it has been revealed that "Salaar" will also have an IMAX release other than the regular 2D format. Mumbai, June 20 - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's immediate next after much-awaited "Tiger 3" might be Tiger vs Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar has been listening to scripts for quite some time now but none of them are looking to start anytime soon. ## According to Pinkvilla, Salman is committed to shooting for "Tiger vs Pathaan" in the first quarter of 2024 with Shah Rukh Khan. It was previously revealed that before TvP, Salman would take up a new film to release either on Eid or Diwali next year. ## Director Vishnu Vardhan has narrated a story to the actor and he is keenly interested in it. But given the huge scale, the project needs at least 4-5 months of pre-production work. The report says that Vishnu Vardhan's film, which will be bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, could be the follow-up to TvP. ## Apart from Vardhan's movie, Salman is awaiting a narration from his mentor, Sooraj Barjatya for "Prem Ki Shaadi". The script work on this film has been going on for quite some now and if it is ready by July this year, then there is a possibility of taking this on floors by the end of this year which was also the original plan.## Yash Raj Films' TvP is already getting a lot of attraction and is touted to be the biggest Indian action spectacle featuring two of the biggest stars in the country. Part of that vision is Maddock's interpretation of "Arabian Nights", which is currently in development. First up will be "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves", followed by "Aladdin" and "Sinbad". Mumbai, June 19 - Bollywood filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's next film Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Jahvi Kapoor has been confirmed to release directly on Amazon Prime Video after it was originally planned and hyped as a big-screen entertainer. ## Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala's banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment in collaboration with Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari's Earthsky Pictures, "Bawaal" will stream on Prime Video sometime in July this year, most likely on July 27. The movie is touted to be a love story set against the backdrop of war.## "Shot across three Indian locations and five European countries, 'Bawaal' has a captivating storyline, dramatic visuals, and absolutely amazing chemistry between the lead talent Varun and Jahnvi. I believe that the worldwide premiere on Prime Video will help us take 'Bawaal' to audiences in India and across borders", Tiwari said in a statement. ## The movie will have a grand premiere in over 200 countries on Prime Video. Mumbai, June 19 - Maddock Films' decision to go with the traditional way is reaping rich rewards as its latest comedy-drama film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke has turned out to be a big box office success. ## At one point, this Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan-fronted movie was in the line of going direct-to-digital way, but better sense prevailed and now, as things stand today, it has grossed around 95 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 10 crores overseas, in 20 days.## The success of ZHZB has taken the trade by surprise as no one was ready to give it a chance to survive beyond the weekend. Due to its desi flavor, the movie met with positive word of mouth, plus no real competition helped it as it to gross over 80 crores worldwide in the first two weeks.## The first two weeks were the best chance for the movie to earn as much as it could. In its third week, ZHZB faced a mighty opponent in the form of Adipurush along with the Hollywood superhero movie The Flsh. ## Despite that, ZHZB remained strong and grossed over 6 crores in India in its third weekend to take its total collection close to 90 crores gross, including 80.60 crores domestic gross (68.31 cr. net). Mumbai, June 18 - Warner Bros. and DC Studios superhero flick The Flash couldn't generate speed at the box office as it scored a low opening weekend worldwide, extending the DC Extended Universe's woes. ## Warner Bros. left no stone unturned to hype up "The Flash" as one of the greatest superhero movies of all time but the movie failed to live up to those sky-high expectations. It grossed just $55 million over a 3-day opening weekend domestically (North America). ## "The Flash" opened lower than Dwayne Johnson's "Black Adam" ($67 million) late last year, making it one of the worst openings for a DCEU movie. It even opened below studios' already conservative $70M-$75M 3-day expectations.## At the international box office, "The Flash" scored $75 million over 68 markets for a $130 million global start. China was the biggest overseas market for the film with $13.8 million, followed by Mexico and the UK with $9.4 million and $5.3 million, respectively. ## Meanwhile, in India, the Ezra Miller-fronted flick grossed around 20.50 crores ($2.5 million) over a 4-day opening weekend in all languages. Box Office: Adipurush (Hindi) Third Day/First Sunday Early Estimates

Mumbai, June 18 - Prabhas-fronted Adipurush scored a humongous opening weekend at the Hindi box office. The movie, despite the negativity, remained rock solid over the weekend to hit the second-biggest opening weekend in Hindi in 2023. ## After collection approx. 74.25 crores in the first 2 days, Adipurush is witnessing a jump of around 5-10% on its first Sunday as early estimates suggest around 38-39 crores net collection. It showed a drop in the night shows but still is collected superbly throughout the day to push the total collection to around 114 crores in Hindi, which is an excellent result by any means. ## The movie has seen a jump in collections at both mass and multiplex centers today which resulted in a decent jump. The opening weekend performance of Adipurush in Hindi has exceeded expectations as pre-release projections were around 75 crores net. ## Adipurush opened with mixed word of mouth but the Ramayana factor has played a vital role in its performance in Hindi. It will now be interesting to see how it performs from tomorrow onwards which will give an idea about when it can finish its run. ## Meanwhile, the movie is likely to have crossed the 300 crores gross mark at the global box office in the opening weekend itself. In the first two days, it grossed around 215 crores and today, it is expected to score at least 85 crores worldwide to put the three-day weekend total to around 300 crores globally. ## Stay tuned...
