The Fifth Installment of The Keanu Reeves-Fronted 'John Wick' Franchise Is In The Early Development
Los Angeles, May 27 - The 4-films John Wick recently crossed the milestone of $1 billion at the global box office after the recording-breaking performance of "John Wick: Chapter 4" which has so far grossed over $425 million worldwide. ## Now, as "John Wick 4" is nearing its run at the box office, Lionsgate has already started working on its fifth installment with Keanu Reeves returning to reprise his role as Baba Yaga aka John Wick, a professional hitman and assassin. ## During a Q4 earnings call on Thursday, Lionsgate's motion picture group chair Joe Drake presented the plans of the studio for the "John Wick" franchise and teased the 5th installment of the action thriller series. ## "What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We're in development on three others, including five and including the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon", Joe Drake said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## "We're building out the world and when that five movies comes, it will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we're starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick", he added.## In Chapter 4, directed by Chad Stahelski, John Wick uncovers a path to defeating the High Table, a journey that sets in motion the events of the film and its climatic dual at Paris' Sacré Coeur.
