Mumbai, January 20 - The long-in production, director Luv Ranjan's romantic comedy Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is finally hitting the screens this Holi festival. The Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-fronted is one of the most-anticipated films and is touted to be a comeback of the rom-com genre in Bollywood.## Produced by Luv Films and T-Series Films, the "TJMM" title glimpse was launched in December last year and since then, there have been speculations about the trailer launch date. It was recently revealed that the much-awaited trailer would be attached to Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" in theaters.## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the trailer of "TJMM" will be released online on January 23 at a grand event in Mumbai. The trailer launch will be attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, and the team. Los Angeles, January 19 - HBO Max has a new winner in its hands as the series adaptation of the hit PlayStation game The Last of Us scores second biggest-ever premiere viewership on the streamer. ## According to Variety, "The Last of Us" scored 10 million views within two days after debuting on Sunday with 4.7 million views, which is the second biggest for HBO Max, behind only "House Of The Dragon's" 10 million. The viewership numbers are only for the US audience as HBO Max doesn't disclose global stats. ## "The Last of Us" viewership topped "Game of Thrones" which garnered just 4.2 million premiere viewers in 2011. Sunday numbers for "The Last of Us" were nearly double the Season 2 premiere night returns for "Euphoria", HBO's biggest modern-day hit next to "House of the Dragon", per Variety. ## "We are thrilled to see fans of the series and game alike experience this iconic story in a new way, and we extend our gratitude to them for helping to make it a success", Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO & HBO Max Content, said.## The show is premiering on Disney Plus Hotstar in India with English subtitles. The buzz for the movie is sky-high and the industry is anticipating something big with this Yash Raj Films' biggie. ## The advance booking for the movie was opened yesterday, and as you read this, it has already sold over 5 lakh tickets, including 260K in three national chains (PVR, Inox & Cinepolis) for the opening day in all formats. ## The advance booking collection of "Pathaan" has already crossed most of the Bollywood films' pre-sales post the covid-19 pandemic, and by tomorrow, it will be behind only "Brahmastra" which sold approx. 6 lakh tickets for the opening day in advance. The movie also stands a chance to cross "Brahmatra" opening day pre-sales by tomorrow or the day after.## As per the industry insiders, "Pathaan" will be released on over 4500 screens for the Hindi version, making it one of the biggest releases ever. The industry is anticipating a 30+ crores opening, however, looking at the pace of the advances and the genuine excitement among the moviegoers, the opening of 40+ crores should be a cakewalk. ## Returning to advance booking, "Pathaan" will be aiming to challenge "War" opening day advance booking numbers (32+ crores). Pathaan Advance Booking Jets Off To Supersonic Start In India

Mumbai, January 18 - Yash Raj Films has opened the advance booking of its highly-anticipated spy action thriller Pathaan on limited screens in IMAX, 4DX, and 2D formats. ## The full-fledged advance booking of this Shah Rukh Khan-fronted will kickstart from January 20, but ahead of that, the response to limited pre-sales is terrific, to say the least. The same is being seen overseas where advances opened 15 days before the release.## The advance booking post the covid-19 pandemic hasn't really created much interest within the Bollywood industry except for "Brahmastra" but here, "Pathaan" has given an early indication of what's coming. The total advance booking gross collection of the movie is nearing 10 crores in all formats.## The premium formats were witnessing higher pre-sales in early numbers with 4DX shows and IMAX shows being fast-filling, but now, the 2D format is also having good pre-sales. The booking in 2D format is starting gradually and it is expected to create havoc by tomorrow if the same momentum goes on. The movie has already sold over 1 lakh tickets in three national chains (INOX, PVR, and Cinepolis) in just 15 hours.## The iconic Prasads Multiplex in Hyderabad was the first to open the booking and within two hours, it sold over 1800 tickets. Currently, there are 14 shows in Prasads and all are in fas-filling mode. The buzz around the movie is sky-high and it should beat the advances of "Brahmastra" easily.## The audience's word of mouth has become the most important thing for a movie to succeed but "Pathaan" seems to be one of those movies that will do well irrespective of reviews unless those are not worst. Chennai, January 18 - Thalapathy Vijay's family entertainer Varisu has crossed 200 crores at the global box office, becoming the first Indian movie of 2023 to enter the box office club.## Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, "Varisu" has emerged as the first choice of the family audience on this Pongal festival. The film took just 7 days to reach the box office milestone, thanks to superlative performance domestically as well as overseas. ## "Varisu" has grossed approx. 210 crores, including approx. 140 crores in India in all languages and approx. 70 crores overseas. Beijing, January 17 - After more than 3 years, Marvel Studios secure its first release in China as it confirmed release dates of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. ## Director Ryan Coogler's "Black Panther 2", which was released last year globally, will be hitting Chinese theaters on February 17, followed by "Ant-Man 3" on February 17, 2023, day and date with North America release.## Due to the de facto ban on Marvel Movies, the studio was not able to get its movie released in Mainland China, costing Marvel/Disney hundreds of millions in potential ticket revenue. The last approved theatrical releases from the studio were "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Avengers: Endgame", way back in early/mid-2019. ## The news about the China release dates of the aforementioned films was shared by Marvel on Tuesday over its official Chinese social media accounts, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
