Digital Release Date of Pan India Box Office Blockbuster 'Kantara' Revealed

Bengaluru, November 17 - Rishab Shetty's mega-blockbuster Kantara is slowing down at the box office after setting new benchmarks for low-budget Indian films. The adventure-action thriller film has grossed approx. 380 crores so far and likely to add a few more crores to its worldwide tally. ## Now, according to the latest reports, "Kantara" is getting ready to release digitally via Amazon Prime Video. It is said that the streamer is likely to premiere the movie on November 24, after 8 weeks of its theatrical run in all languages.## Initially, the makers were reportedly tempting to follow 6 weeks window for the movie but due to its blockbuster run at the box office, the makers postponed "Kantara's" digital release by two more weeks. However, there is no official confirmation yet from Prime Video or producer Hombale Films regarding its November 24th release. ## "Kantara" was having a shot at 400 crores worldwide, but due to the new releases every week, the pace of the movie got a bit slow and now, it is looking difficult for it to reach the milestone. The superstar recently announced his reunion with master storyteller Mani Ratnam after 35 years and now, one more film is in his arc.## A few days ago, it was reported that Kamal Haasan would be teaming up with director H Vinoth for an action thriller film. During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sunil Shetty said that he was shocked when he heard about Akshay not doing "Hera Pheri 3". ## The actor went on to say that the makers are in talks with Kartik Aaryan for a different role as Akshay's Raju can't be replaced by anyone. Chennai, November 16 - Thalapathy Vijay's much-awaited family action drama film Varisu is getting ready to release on Pongal 2023. It is arguably the biggest Indian film releasing on Sankranthi 2023 among the other films like Ajith Kumar's "Thunivu", Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Waltair Veerayya", and Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Veera Simha Reddy". ## Thalapathy Vijay carries a massive loyal fan following and this is clearly tempting makers to set things higher for "Varisu" as far as its pre-release business is concerned. It is the stardom of Tamil superstar which has already helped producers to fetch mammoth profits before its release. ## As per industry insiders, the Vamshi Paidipally-directed film has done the pre-release business of eye-popping approx. 270 crores, without Telugu states. Amazon Prime Video is the post-theatrical streaming partner of the movie, for which the streamer paid approx. 60 crores. Sun TV has satellite rights for approx. 50 crores.## The phenomenal pre-release business of "Varisu" re-affirm that Thlapathy Vijay is miles ahead of its contemporaries in star power. Vijay's last film "Beast" is the perfect example of his star power as the movie got really poor reviews from critics but still, it managed to gross over 200 crores worldwide, making it a profitable venture for the makers. ## "Varisu" is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. Sooraj Barjatya's 'Uunchai' On Course To Become A Rare Bollywood Box Office Hit

Mumbai, November 15 - The proven Bollywood filmmaker, Sooraj Barjatya is once again paving the way for bringing family audiences back to theaters amid the continued disappointment within the film industry with his latest flick Uunchai.## The adventure friendship drama film was released on November 11 on comparatively limited screens of less than 500, however, the makers could have easily booked around 2500 screens. It is Barjatya's tried and tested release formula which has worked wonders in the past.## At a time when many low to mid-budget films are falling drastically, "Uunchai" took the opening of 1.81 crores net, which is not big by Bollywood standards but much better for its release size.
