Hyderabad, August 22 - Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is celebrating his 67th birthday today, announced a few days ago that he will build a hospital for Telugu film workers at Chitrapuri Colony in Hyderabad and it will be operational by his next birthday. ## Participating in an event associated with Celebrity Cricket, the actor assured those present that the hospital would be operational by the time his birthday arrives next year. Addressing the gathering, Chiranjeevi said, "I've got this desire to build a hospital at Chitrapuri Colony. I have been nurturing this thought for some time now".## "I want to build a hospital at least with 10 beds. This hospital should be able to address all the health issues of cine workers, which don't require them to go to big hospitals. This hospital should be beneficial to all cine workers, who come under the BPL category or who get a daily wage", the actor said.## "The satisfaction I get out of doing this cannot be measured. So, the moment I got this thought, I started planning. I thank all my younger brothers who have lent a helping hand in this regard", he added. ## Stating that he intended to name the hospital after his dad, the actor promised, "I give you my word on this birthday of mine. The movie is having a sensational run at the domestic as well as overseas box office, becoming a huge blockbuster. ## Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, "Karthikeya 2" has crossed the coveted $1 million gross mark in the USA, becoming the 9th Telugu movie in 2022 to achieve the feat. The last film to reach the milestone was Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur's recently released blockbuster "Sita Ramam", which has so far grossed $1.22 million over there. ## "Karthikeya 2" reached the $1 million mark in the USA on Sunday, taking just 9 days to get there. Mumbai, August 22 - Filmfare magazine has reacted to National Award-winning actress, Kangana Ranaut's remarks against it. The magazine said in a statement that Kangana's remarks, in which she threatened to sue Filmfare nominating her for this year's Filmfare awards against her objection, are malicious. ## It pains us at Filmfare, today, to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Ms. Kangana Ranaut", Filmfare said in a statement. "For over six decades, Filmfare Awards, and Filmfare, at large, has been a platform that celebrates and honours talent in the Film industry impartially and with utmost transparency. It is our strong ethic that has helped us in gaining the trust of our audiences and the film industry. ## Kangana alleged that Filmfare invited her to the award ceremony and wanted to give her the Best Actress award. Filmfare, however, said, "as is customary during the awards, Filmfare's Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation". ## The magazine also posted the message which it claimed to be the actual message it send to the actress and clarified that it wasn't about her giving the award or asking for any performance. Mumbai, August 21 - Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri said that the reason behind Bollywood's rejection is its arrogance. The "The Kashmir Files" director was speaking in response to director Anurag Kashyap's remark on his film during a recent interview in which he said that TKF shouldn't be chosen for India's official entry for Oscars 2022. ## The selection for India's Oscars entry is made by the Film Federation of India (FFI), the apex body of film producers, distributors, exhibitors, and studio owners, and since 1957, when Mehboob Khan's 'Mother India' lost by just a vote, all of two Indian films - Mira Nair's "Salaam Bombay" (1988) and the Aamir Khan-starrer "Lagaan" (2001) have made it to the Oscar nominations shortlist.## It is possible that "The Kashmir Files" may not be picked as India's entry but Vivek Agnihotri has reasons to feel offended by Kashyap's remark. "Bollywood is suffering today because you are trying to pass on your own failure to an individual because his films work", he said. ## "Go to any middle-class, urban, semi-urban household and interview them and you will find how people hate the arrogance, glossy lifestyle, and the disconnect of Bollywood with real-life audiences".## Agnihotri said that people have seen through "all this hypocrisy, arrogance, and this flashy, flamboyant lifestyle, paid organized publicity campaigns... and now they are not willing to accept it, which is a good thing, which has made Bollywood rethink the ideology they follow".## "They are still running a campaign against 'The Kashmir Files' Oscars submission. So, they are experts on this. It is a serious topic and I take it very seriously. If people are boycotting their films it is because of the anger of the audience. Hyderabad, August 21 - After two months of pause, the Telugu film industry is back in the action and is on a potential long ride. Putting this in simple words - the largest South Indian film industry is flying high with the support of three back-to-back box office blockbusters, all coming in this month called August. ## The industry was in a dire need of one big hit to kick-start the process, and it got two not just one in the form of "Sita Ramam" and "Bimbisara". A week later joining these two films was actor Nikhil Siddhartha's "Karthikeya 2", which is simply going overdrive and proving to be a force to reckon with no sign of dropping anytime soon. ## While the aforementioned three films are going strong, the Telugu industry has one more, if not many, potential blockbuster in August in the form of Vijay Deverakonda and director Puri Jagannadh's much-anticipated sports action drama film, "Liger". Scheduled to release on August 25, the movie is carrying a very good buzz and it is almost certain to open big at the Telugu box office. ## "Liger" is a Pan India film, shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. It is co-produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions so the makers have taken the Hindi market very seriously, in fact, they started the promotion by visiting multiple North Indian cities. The Hindi version may not take as big an opening as the Telugu version, but it can be the most productive in the long run if received very well. ## Personally, the thing which is exciting to me is the extra confidence Vijay Deverakonda (who recently quoted a minimum of 200 crores earning of the film) is showing in the movie. Of course, the cat will be out of the hat when the movie officially will get released, but it is very important for the involved people to back their product wholeheartedly which is exactly what VD is doing without putting his head down for a second. ## The stakes involved in "Liger" are comparatively high than the previous films, but so is the confidence of the makers and buzz around the film and this should extend the dominance of Telugu cinema at the box office. It also stars Ananya Pandey as the female lead along with Ramya Krishnan and Ronit Roy in important roles.
