Chennai, June 4 - Tamil blockbuster Vikram is running riot at the box office and wrapped up the opening weekend on high, grossing over 170 crores worldwide in just three days. The film opened to superlative responses from the audience and also won critical acclaim with flying colors. ## The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed movie is a total firecracker at the Tamil Nadu box office. After taking the 3rd biggest opening in 2022, the movie concluded the opening weekend with Kamal Haasan's career-best 67.10 crores gross in Tamil Nadu state. The Sunday collection of the movie is more than the opening day at the TN box office, which is the rarest achievement for a top-tier Tamil movie. ## There is a crazy demand among the moviegoers at the ticket window for the "Vikram" movie. Looking at the response, the movie might reach 100 crores gross at the TN box office in the opening week itself. The movie has also topped all-Indian domestic 100 crores gross in just three days, currently stands at 110.8 crores. ## While "Vikram" is ruling the Tamil Nadu box office like a boss, it has also become the highest-grossing Tamil movie of 2022 at the Kerala box office. In the first three days, it grossed 15.2 crores, beating Thalapathy Vijay's "Beast" (10.63 crores) to become the top Tamil movie in the state. The worldwide cume of "Doctor Strange 2" includes $388.7M from domestic (North America) and $520.7M from the international box office. It reached the milestone in just 5 weeks. ## "Doctor Strange 2" could have crossed the $1 billion mark globally if released in China. When excluding China and Russia, the $909.4M worldwide cume makes Benedict Cumberbatch-starrer the No. 10 global and international MCU release out of 28 titles, surpassing "Spider-Man: Far From Home".## Meanwhile, Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick is putting up an insane performance at the domestic (North America) as well as international box office. This ace flying sequel continues to power beyond expectations and passed the $500 million mark globally. ## Directed by Joseph Kosinski, "Top Gun 2" witnessed the lowest second-weekend drop ever for a movie opening with $100 million and more at the domestic box office. After KGF Chapter 2 and RRR registered huge numbers over there, the latest domestic blockbusters, Vikram and Major opened big on the opening weekend in the USA. ## Kamal Haasan-fronted top-reviewed action thriller "Vikram" opened this weekend and scored $1.75 million, including Thursday previews. The movie opened at number 9 this weekend, above "Crimes of the Future". The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed has been released in 450 theaters and made $1889 per theater, as per Hollywood trade analysts Gitesh Pandya.## On the other hand, Adivi Sesh-starrer biographical action drama "Major" opened at number 12 at the USA box office this weekend. It collected $900K, including Thursday previews. Released by Weekend Cinema, the movie debuted in 360 theaters, making $1736 per theater. It has already become Adivi Sesh's biggest grosser in the USA and will cross $1 million soon. ## Meanwhile, "Vikram" is going berserk at the box office, grossing over 140 crores worldwide. Mumbai, June 5 - Bollywood actress Lara Dutta has confirmed that she would be returning to reprise her role in the sequel to Anees Bazmee's superhit No Entry. The movie has been in the news for a long time and it was officially confirmed by Salman Khan himself in December last year. ## Salman Khan, along with Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan has already been confirmed to return in the sequel, tentatively titled No Entry Mein Entry. It was reported that the trio will be seen playing a triple role in the movie, however, it was then not confirmed whether the original lead heroines will return or not. ## Putting all the speculations to the rest, Lara Dutta confirmed at International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) that she "can't get back with him (Salman Khan) to work in No Entry 2". With Lara confirmed her return to the movie, it is also confirmed that Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly may also be reprising their roles. However, there is doubt about Bipasha Basu's participation in the movie. ## "No Entry Mein Entry" will be produced by Boney Kapoor who also produced the original movie. Released in 2005, "No Entry" was the highest-grossing film of the year. Anees recently told IndiaToday.in, "The shoot of the film is going to start very soon. Chennai, June 5 - Raaj Kamal Films International's production, Vikram is putting up a sensational show at the box office not only domestically but overseas also. The Kamal Haasan-fronted movie was expected to score big but it has exceeded those expectations by a big margin by collecting 100 crores worldwide gross in just two days. ## Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, "Vikram" took the second-biggest opening for a Tamil movie in 2022 with 37.5 crores gross at the domestic box office. It grossed 23.10 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, which is the 3rd biggest in 2022. With super positive word of mouth, the action thriller put up one of the strongest holds on the second day, grossing 33.6 crores for a total of 71.1 crores domestic gross. ## "Vikram" dropped a little over 10% on the second day (Saturday), which is probably the lowest dip ever for a top-tier Tamil movie. Usually, South Indian films tend to take a huge drop on the second day which was not the case with "Vikram" which remained almost unbreakable. In Tamil Nadu, it did gross a fantastic 20.10 crores on Saturday, boosting the total gross to 43.30 crores in the home state. ## Meanwhile, the overseas box office collection of "Vikram" is also phenomenal with 32 crores gross in two days. In the USA, the movie has grossed $1.3 million (10.08 crores) so far. The total worldwide gross of the movie now stands at 103.10 crores, which is the fastest ever for a Kamal Haasan movie. ## "Vikram" was released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu languages. While Tamil collections are extraordinary, the movie has done very well in Telugu states by grossing 7.5 crores in two days. The Hindi version has underperformed and has collected only 60 lakh net.## Vikram was one of the highly-anticipated Tamil movies that mark director Lokesh's first collaboration with Kamal Haasan. Los Angeles, June 4 - The Paramount and Skydance tentpole, Top Gun: Maverick is putting remarkable legs at the domestic (North America) box office and doing expectational business in its second weekend. ## As per The Hollywood Reporter, the Joseph Kosinski-directed movie will score an estimated $85 million in its second weekend to see the smallest decline of all time with 33% for a movie opening domestically to $100 million and more. It scored the biggest 2nd Friday during the covid-19 pandemic domestically with an estimated $25 million, beating Spider-Man: No Way Home's $19.70 million in December last year.## "Top Gun: Maverick" currently stands at an estimated $230 million domestically, including the 2nd Friday collection. The full second weekend will take the movie to around $290 million. The 2nd Saturday collection of Top Gun 2 will make it the biggest domestic grosser ever for Tom Cruise, beating 2005's The War of the Worlds ($235 million), not adjusted for inflation. ## "Top Gun 2" also continues to fly high overseas, where it crossed the $200 million mark on Friday. As per THR, the movie scored $19.6 million internationally on Friday, pushing its overseas cume to $204 million. The worldwide total of the "Top Gun" sequel stands at $434 million through the second Friday. It will smash half a billion-dollar mark by Sunday. ## It is the joint best-rated movie of Tom Cruise's career with a 97% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes and coveted A+ CinemaScore. Los Angeles, June 4 - The long legal battle between Johnny Depp and her ex-wife Amber Heard finally came to a conclusion in favor of Depp. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor had filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard for her 2018 Washington Post op-ed. ## The Virginia jury found that the article by Heard defamed Depp and ordered her to pay $10 million in compensatory damages. However, Amber's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft told 'Today' that the actress can't afford to pay such a huge sum to Depp. ## When asked by 'Today' if Heard would be able to afford the $10 million in damages that she's being ordered to pay, Bredehoft answered bluntly, "Oh no. Absolutely not". Bredehoft added that Depp's legal team worked to "demonise" Heard and was able to suppress "an enormous amount of evidence" in the defamation trial.## "A number of things were allowed in this court that should not have been allowed, and it caused the jury to be confused", Bredehoft added. "And the court found there, and we weren't allowed to tell the jury this, but the court found that Mr. Depp had committed at least 12 acts of domestic violence, including sexual violence against Amber".## Amber Heard has countered Depp for $100 million. While she lost most of the arguments, the jury awarded her $2 million after it found one statement by Depp defamatory against her. Los Angeles, June 4 - Marvel Studios' Disney Plus series, "Moon Knight", has scored a massive 3.7 billion viewing minutes, as per The Hollywood Reporter. ## The Oscar Isaac-fronted superhero series posted its best viewing time figures for the week of its finale. According to Nielsen's streaming rankings for the week (via THR), the six-episode "Moon Knight" racked up 715 million minutes of watch time from May 2 to 8. ## The viewing minutes of the series in its final week was the highest since its debut on March 30. The show grew in four of the five weeks after its March 30 debut, with only the smallest of dips (638 million minutes to 630 million) in its fourth week.## Among the Marvel Studios' all Disney+ series, "Moon Knight" stands in between "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" (4.15 billion) and "Hawkeye" (3.46 billion). Tom Hiddleston's "Loki" is the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+ with 5.23 billion viewing minutes while "Hawkeye" is the least-watched with 3.46 billion. ## The full list of watch time minutes for all five Diesny+'s Marvel shows can be seen below - ## 1.
