SIIMA Awards 2021: Allu Arjun And Pooja Hegde's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo Win Big With 10 Awards

Hyderabad, September 20, 2021: On the second and final day of the South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) 2021, some of the best South Indian movies and artists of 2020 were honored in a star-studded ceremony in Hyderabad. ## Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde starrer action drama film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, emerged a big winner at the award nights and bagged almost all the top awards in Telugu. One of the highest-grossing Telugu movies of all time, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, won 10 awards including Best Actor male and female, Best Director, Best Film, among others. ## Soorarai Pottru, which has been hailed as one of the best Indian films ever, was announced as the Best Tamil movie of 2020 while Suriya won the Best Actor for his role in the movie at SIIMA 2021. Love Mocktail and Ayyappanum Koshiyum were also awarded the Best Kannada and Malayalam movie respectively at SIIMA 2021. Mumbai, September 19, 2021: A couple of days after announcing that he will give up India's T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup 2021, Virat Kohli has now announced that he will step down as Royal Challengers Bangalore captain as well after the IPL 2021. ## While announcing that he will step down as RCB captain, Kohli told RCB in his announcement video, "This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I'll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. Warner Bros' 'Dune' And Universal's 'No Time To Die' Sets China Release Date

Mumbai, September 19, 2021: Legendary / Warner Bros.' epic sci-fi movie "Dune" has been released in some of the key international markets and is off to a great start with over $35 million in the first four days. ## Now, the movie gets a major boost as it has been confirmed to release in the biggest movie market, China, and will be opening day-and-date with the U.S. on October 22. Legendary East is handling the release of Dune in the PRC and it will release everywhere in China. ## On the other hand, Universal Pictures' "No Time To Die" starring Daniel Craig as James Bond for the last time, has also set China release date on October 29. China being an important market for Bond movies, the movie studios intentionally waited to rebound in the throes of the pandemic. ## Both the movies are confirmed by the Maoyan website as upcoming releases in China. Dune and No Time to Die are the only two Hollywood movies that had recently been granted certificates and we were waiting on release dates in China. The last Bond film, Spectre, did earn $83.5M in the PRC. ## Meanwhile, it looks like the recent Marvel movies "Black Widow" and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" won't get a Chinese release date and will end their entire run without getting a China release. A Documentary Series On Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan Is In The Making

From the beginning of his career to become the superstar, Salman's 33-years of journey in the film industry has nothing been short of a rollercoaster ride, in which he has had his share of ups and downs. ## While the fans of Salman will see plenty of films of him in the future, a docu-series on the actor is also in the making and it has reportedly been titled "Beyond The Star - Salman Khan". To chronicle Salman's journey to stardom and also give a glimpse to the audience about the lesser-known facts of the actor, SKF Films in association with Wiz Films and Applause Entertainment are producing the series. ## According to Pinkvilla, "All the key stakeholders of Salman's career – right from family to his co-stars, directors, and producers – will be a part of this docu-series. The prep work has already begun and the interviews with Salman's colleagues will be done in the coming few months". ## It is reported that the producers are in talks with an OTT platform for the premiere of the series. Meanwhile, a documentary is being made on Salman's father, the celebrated writer Salim Khan and his partnership with the legendary, Javed Akhtar. The Salim – Javed story is being conceptualized by Farhan and Zoya Akhtar with Salman for Netflix. ## Apart from the documentary series, Salman will next be seen in "Antim - The Final Truth", in which he plays a Sikh cop while his brother-in-law, Aayush Sharma plays a gangster. The shooting of the film is completed and is expected to release later this year. ## Salman is currently shooting for YRF's "Tiger 3" in Austria with Katrina Kaif in the lead. Russian Film 'The Challenge' Set To Be The First Movie To Be Shot In Outer Space

Mumbai, September 19, 2021: A new space race is heating up between the two rivals, the USA and Russia, this time, however, for a different purpose. More than 60 years after the erstwhile Soviet Union beat the United States into orbit with the launch of its Sputnik satellite, the country is again leading the race in the entertainment field. ## According to reports, Russia has announced plans to produce a feature film titled "The Challenge" in outer space, allowing itself to become the first country to do so. If all goes well, the production team will lift off next month on a 12-day mission to pull off the historic first, beating Tom Cruise's untitled passion project. ## A Russian commission of medical and safety experts approved a plan for an actress and a director to blast off early next month to film the first full-length, fictional movie in space. "The Challenge," tells of a doctor launched on short notice to the International Space Station to save the life of a cosmonaut.## "For the first two seconds it's scary", Yulia Peresild, who is on track to become the first actor in space said according to New York Times, of her training on an airplane flight that briefly created a microgravity environment. "After that, it's beautiful".## Last year NASA announced that it was partnering with Elon Musk's SpaceX and Tom Cruise to shoot a movie that would be partly filmed aboard the International Space Station. The Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman is also attached to helm the project, which set the minimum budget of $200 million. However, with no shooting timeline set for Cruise's film yet, it is set to lose the space race against Russian production. ## Meanwhile, the launch of the "The Challenge" crew is expected to take place on October 5th. Channel One will live stream the event internationally with, Channel One CEO Konstantin Ernst calling it "a breathtaking reality show and a chance to attract millions of TV viewers". Actor Sonu Sood Evaded Over Rs. 20 Crore In Taxes, Violated FCRA Norms, Claims IT Department

Mumbai, September 18, 2021: The Income Tax department, which had speed up and widened its tax evasion probe against actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, has claimed in a statement that the actor has evaded taxes of over Rs. 20 crore. ## After conducting raids at the actor's premise for three days in a row at different locations, the department today said that it has found incriminating evidence pertaining to tax evasion during the search. "The main modus operandi followed by the actor had been to route his unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities", the IT department said in a statement. ## Sonu Sood has been hailed as massiah for his philanthropical efforts during the covid-19 lockdown and tried to help people as much as he could. He had recently announced a tie-up with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.## "Investigations so far have revealed use of 20 such entries, the providers of which, on examination, have accepted on oath to have given bogus accommodation entries. They have accepted to have issued cheques in lieu of cash. There have been instances where professional receipts have been camouflaged as loans in the books of accounts for the purpose of evasion of tax. It has also been revealed that these bogus loans have been used for making investments and acquiring properties. The total amount of tax evaded unearthed so far, amounts to more than Rs. 20 crore", the statement further read.## The CBDT said that the foundation has collected donations worth Rs. 18.94 crore from April 1, 2021, till date, out of which it has spent around Rs. 1.9 crore towards various relief work while the balance of Rs. 17 crore has been found lying unutilised in the bank account of the foundation.## "It is seen that funds to the tune of Rs. 2.1 crore have also been raised by the charity foundation from overseas donors on a crowdfunding platform in violation of (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) FCRA regulations", the CBDT statement added.## The department also said that cash of Rs 1.8 crore has been seized during the searches and 11 lockers have been placed under prohibitory order. A real estate deal and some other financial transactions linked to Sood are under the scanner of the department.## Stay tuned...

Daniel Craig Gives A Tearful Farewell Speech After His Last James Bond Movie 'No Time To Die' Wrapped Filming

Los Angeles, September 18, 2021: Actor Daniel Craig, who will be seen as James Bond for the last time in the upcoming "No Time To Die", gave a teary emotional speech when the movie was wrapped up. Craig has worked on five Bond movies including the upcoming one, and he enjoyed every bit of these films. ## Filmthusiast posted the clip on Twitter and you can see the James Bond actor getting visibly emotional when weighing the journey they have all been through making "No Time To Die". Craig's journey as James Bond had begun with Casino Royale in 2006 and after that, he has become a fan-favorite MI6 agent. ## While Craig's previous four Bond movies were released when there was no sign of the covid-19 pandemic, but the filming of his final film as James Bond went through a lot of challenges and delays caused by the pandemic, which brought the world to its knees. "And I know there's a lot of things said about what I think about these films or all of those whatever. But I've loved every single second of these movies, and especially this one because I've gotten up every morning and I've had the chance to work with you guys. In India, the 25th James Bond movie will debut in theaters on September 30 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. ## In the film, LĂ©a Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes reprise their roles from previous films, with Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, Billy Magnussen, and David Dencik joining the cast as new characters.## Stay tuned...

Taapsee Pannu To Play Female Lead Opposite Shah Rukh Khan In Rajkumar Hirani's Film!

Mumbai, September 17, 2021: Earlier in the year, there were reports claiming that actress Taapsee Pannu was to be cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan in director Rajkumar Hirani's social drama film based on illegal immigration. ## While there is no official confirmation yet on the same, it has now been reportedly confirmed that the actress is indeed playing the female lead opposite SRK. It will be the first time when she will share screen space with SRK. ## "Taapsee is on board. She is doing Hirani's film. But she is not allowed to talk about it. Until the news is official, she cannot comment on it. The producers, Shah Rukh's Red Chillies and Hirani's production house will make the announcement soon", a source close to the development told Cinema Journal. ## The film will mark Shah Rukh Khan's maiden collaboration with Hirani. The duo was supposed to collaborate in Munna Bhai MBBS but things didn't work out. Meanwhile, the maiden collaboration of SRK-Hirani is not a regular Bollywood social drama but rather deals with a broader immigration issue. ## The movie will reportedly focus on illegal immigration called "donkey flight", which has emerged as a popular escape path for Indians hoping to immigrate to the US and Canada. Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen in Anand L Rai's "Zero" in 2018, will reportedly start shooting on Hirani's film in May 2022. Before that, he will complete YRF's "Pathan" and Atlee's film. ## Taapsee Pannu, on the other hand, has several films in the pipeline in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. Los Angeles, September 17, 2021: Marvel is undoubtedly the most loved superhero franchise in the world and has made its own legacy with The Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, despite getting so much popularity and loved by its fans around the film, there are still those who have criticized the superhero franchise over the years. ## Of late, Marvel Studios has been expanding the superhero genre by blending it with other elements that would make it unique with feature films and shows, but it looks like that despite all the efforts, the Studio will still be criticized for not making so-called real cinema. ## The latest in the list to criticize Marvel movies is the acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve, who is currently awaiting the release of the epic sci-fi film "Dune". In response to Spanish daily El Mundo's question citing Martin Scorsese's comments about the idea that superhero films are not cinema, Villeneuve agreed to the former's comments, calling MCU nothing but "cut and paste". ## "Perhaps the problem is that we are in front of too many Marvel movies that are nothing more than a 'cut and paste' of others. Perhaps these types of movies have turned us into zombies a bit… But big and expensive movies of great value there are many today. I don't feel capable of being pessimistic at all". ## Earlier, in October 2019, "Taxi Driver" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" director Martin Scorsese, had blasted Marvel by saying that Marvel movies are not cinema and even compared them with "theme parks". ## "I don't see them. I tried, you know? But that's not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks.
