The landmark collaboration will bring some of the finest actors and directors to the big screen in form of different genres. ## The two renowned production studios have joined hands for the four most anticipated Hindi films that include Johar's directorial "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. The film marks Karan's comeback in the direction for the first time since Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil". ## The latest partnership also includes Raj Mehta's family drama film "Jug Jugg Jeeyo" starring Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kiara Advani, Shakun Batra's next starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhairya Karwa, and then Shashank Khaitan romantic comedy, starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar. The real-life uncle and nephew, Venkatesh and Rana will be starring in a crime drama series "Rana Naidu", which is an official adaptation of the American crime drama Ray Donovan, for Netflix. ## This is the first time when the two actors with massive fan followings will be sharing screen space. "Rana Naidu" story will follow the life of Rana Naidu, a professional fixer for Bollywood and Mumbai's elite. It will be produced by Sunder Aaron of Locomotive Global Media LLP and directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma. ## "It is completely different from what both of us have done in our careers so far. Zee Entertainment Announces Merger With Sony India

Mumbai, September 22: In a major development, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has announced a merger with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) on Wednesday. According to the merger, Sony will hold a majority of the stake of 52.93% and will invest $1.575 billion while ZEE shareholders will hold the remaining 47.07% stake. ## The merger was approved by the ZEEL's Board of Directors in a meeting held on September 22, according to a statement by ZEE. The company also said that Puneet Goenka (CEO of Zee) will remain the Managing Director and CEO of the merged entity for five years. ## The statement said that both the companies have entered into a non-binding agreement and combine their linear networks, digital assets, production operations, and program libraries. The merged entity will still be a listed company in India and Sony Group will have the right to nominate majority directors on the board of the merged entity.## This combined entity will own 75 TV channels, two video streaming services ZEE5 & SonyLIV along with two film studios, Zee Studios & Sony Pictures India as well as a digital content studio Studio NXT. This makes it the largest entertainment network in India. ## The merger announcement comes a week after Zee Entertainment witnessed shareholder activism that saw an open call for the ouster of promoters and the incumbent management led by Punit Goenka. For the third weekend in a row, "Shang Chi" remained number 1 at the domestic box office. ## The Marvel movie surpassed "Fast & Furious 9" ($173M) and becomes the second-highest grosser at the domestic box office during the pandemic era with $176.9 million including $21.7M on the third weekend. It just took "Shang-Chi" 17-days to reach the second spot.## "Shang-Chi" is well and truly on track to become the first Hollywood movie to gross a legendary $200 million at the North American box office. Ans in between, it will surpass its fellow Marvel movie "Black Widow" to become the highest-grosser Hollywood pic. The Scarlett Johansson fronted earned $183.4M in North America. ## Globally, "Shang-Chi" has crossed a brilliant $300 million mark and currently stands at $320 million. Kangana Ranaut Files A Counter Defamation Case Against Javed Akhtar

Mumbai, September 20, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut appeared before a magistrate's court in Andheri, Mumbai, for the hearing in the defamation case filed against her by veteran Bollywood lyricist, Javed Akhtar. ## The court had directed the actress last week to appear on the next date, failing which it would issue an arrest warrant. After Kangana's appearance, the court adjourned the matter to November 15. ## Kangana, however, is not happy with the in-charge court on the grounds and moved a plea before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate seeking a transfer of the defamation case as she has "lost faith". She also filed a counter defamation case against Akhtar. Both will be heard on October 1. ## In her complaint against the veteran lyricist, Ranaut has accused him of extortion and criminal intimidation among other charges. She claims that in a public dispute with a co-star, Hrithik Roshan, Akhtar called her sister and her to his house at Juhu, and threatened her.## "The said accused (Akhtar) even had the audacity to then "force me to tender a written apology to my said co-star (Roshan), thus, forcefully seeking to create a document (valuable security) in favour of my co-star", Ranaut's plea said.## Earlier, Akhtar (76) had filed the complaint in the court in November last year, claiming Ranaut had made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, which allegedly damaged his reputation.## Stay tuned...

"Every rupee in my foundation is awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy. Producer Ajay Kapoor, who recently announced a film on the Afghan rescue crisis, has acquired the Hindi remake rights of this Tamil blockbuster. ## Speaking about the film, Ajay Kapoor said (according to TV9), "96 was a heartwarming, light-hearted romantic tale that got a lot of love from the audience. The story breaks barriers beyond the boundaries of language and region, which inspired me to make the Hindi remake of the film for a national audience". ## The producer further said that he is working on the script and will soon announce the cast & crew for the Hindi remake.## "I am actively working on developing the right script for the story with the right kind of director and star cast.
