The India Box Office Sees A Positive Sign As Salman Khan Starrer Radhe Released On Limited Screens

Mumbai, July 17, 2021: Salman Khan's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was put on hold for more than a year to give it a theatrical release. It was finally set to release in theaters on May 13, but the prevailing second wave of the covid-19 pandemic forced makers to change their plans. However, this time the makers were not in a mood to delay the release anymore, and hence, they opt for simultaneous OTT release via pay-per-view model and theaters on May 13. ## As theaters were closed in India when Radhe release, the movie automatic became a direct-to-digital release, leaving theatrical business gasping. It was in June when the Maharasthra government allowed theaters to reopen in areas where the covid-19 situation was under control. Upon the reopening of cinemas, Radhe released on the big screens, even though only limited screens were available. While the box office collection was nowhere close to the pre-covid era, it was still increasing to see the audiences stepping out from their houses to watch the movie. ## Recently, the Rajasthan and Utter Pradesh governments also permitted the reopening of cinemas with 50% capacity. Before started screening in Rajasthan on July 13, Radhe had collected around Rs. 1.80 lakh across theaters. From Tuesday onwards, Radhe witness a sharp growth in the collection. ## The movie premiered on iconic single-screen theaters, Raj Mandir, and collected approx 25k on Tuesday, 25.3k on Wednesday, 31.5k on Thursday, and around 36k on Friday. On the other hand, Radhe reportadly released at 5 properties in UP on Friday and collected around 60k from 10 shows. Including Rajasthan and UP's collection, Radhe has so far earned approx. 3.30 lakh. ## The box office collection of Radhe in India should be taken positively considering the fact that the movie is almost two months old and received negative reviews from every corner of the country. It shows that the audience is willing to go out to watch movies in theaters if they get a chance. Mumbai, July 17, 2021: Filmmaker Madhu Mantena is planning to take the Indian cinema to the next level, and his vision can't get a better and bigger start then kicking off with Indian mythological tales. The filmmaker on Thursday (July 15) announced that he is working on India's first cinematic universe based on Indian history and Mythology. ## Taking to his Instagram handle, Mantena shared a tinted red abstract photo that has a god and demon in it. The photo has 'Stories of Indian mythology' and 'Mythoverse' written on it. While sharing the photo he wrote, "Working on India's first cinematic universe based on Indian history and Mythology .. Our first film begins in Treta Yuga. 1.8 billion years have passed in this Kalpa so far..."## Meanwhile, Mantena recently opened up about his plans to make two epics, 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata'. While he is well aware that other filmmakers are also working on Indian epics, Mantena has promised a unique, world-class experience for all the viewers with regards to 'Ramayana', 'Mahabharata' and the Mytho-verse. "We are making it for the global audience. We want to tell these stories to audiences all across because the basic emotions are the same for everyone", he shared according to DNA. ## Currently, Mantena is working on Ramayana, for which, the casting will be announced around Diwali this year. Speaking about it, the filmmaker had told Pinkvilla, "The ambition that we have for Ramayana is larger than what our country has seen. The responsibility to tell this story is so larger that it requires a lot of work. We have taken it on ourselves to make it as well as anything else in the world".## "We are trying to follow the process that James Cameron did for Avatar. The ambition is so larger that we are going into the minute details of everything. We need to show the world what Ramayana is and it needs to portray all the magic that Valmiki wrote. This isn't a project, it's a purpose, a purpose to tell Ramayana in all its glory to the world", he added. ## It is said that over 200 artists from across the globe are working on various aspects of the film for the last 2 years. The pre-production team includes some Oscar-Winning Artists too. The film has already been mounted so high on a scale that we can't wait to experience this on the biggest possible screens.## Other than Ramayana, Madhu is also working on 'Mahabharata', which will be told from Draupadi's point of view. Mumbai, July 16, 2021: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the group for the forthcoming Men's T20 World Cup 2021, to be hosted by the BCCI in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from 17 October to 14 November. ## Hosts India has been placed in Group 2 of the Super 12s stage with arch-rivels Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifier teams. England, Australia, South Africa, West Indies, and two more qualifier teams will form Group 1 for the tournament. India, Pakistan in the same group means both teams will face-off for the first time in more than two years, their last fixture having come in the 2019 50-over World Cup.## The ICC announced the make-up of the groups - both for the first round and for the Super 12s stage - for the big-ticket tournament, which will be the first multi-team, a global event organized by the ICC since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic early last year. However, the schedule of the tournament is yet to be announced. ## Both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will have to go through the qualifying tournament. Sri Lanka has been placed in Group A with Ireland, Netherlands, and Namibia while Bangladesh will face Scotland, Papua New Guinea, and Oman in Group B. Mumbai, July 16, 2021: Netflix is reviving its ambitious show, Baahubali: Before The Beginning after scrapping it despite the 70% of the shoot completed. The show was earlier being directed by South Indian filmmakers Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru and shot with Mrunal Thakur as young Sivagami. However, things didn't turn out the way it was visualized. It led Netflix to scrap the entire shoot and later it decided that it will be reshot with a fresh cast and director. ## Based on Anand Neelakantan's novel The Rise of Sivagami, the streamer has roped in Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi to play the role of Sivagami. The show is currently under the pre-production stage and Wamiqa will start shooting by September or October this year. ## And now, as per the latest development, Netflix has got in the lady superstar of the South Indian cinema, Nayanthara to play a pivotal role in the series. Nayanthara's character in the series is yet to be known. The show will mark the versatile actress's Hindi as well as digital debut. ## Touted as the most expensive Indian series coming out from Netflix, Bahubali: Before The Beginning is reportadly divided into two parts. The show is the prequel to SS Rajamouli's magnum opus blockbuster franchise Bahubali starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, and Sathyaraj among others.## Baahubali: Before the Beginning is said to have seen the potential of being India's answer to Game of Thrones. Jannat fame Kunal Deshmukh and The Girl On the Train fame Ribhu Dasgupta are reportadly on board to direct the series. The first season of the show will consist of a total of 9 episodes. ## Meanwhile, Nayanthara is also reportadly in talks to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee's film. While she has yet to give her nod for her debut Hindi film, it is said that she liked the script narrated by Atlee. Mumbai, July 16, 2021: The Managing Director of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar has been accused of an alleged rape case. DN Nagar police station in Andheri (West), Mumbai, has registered a First Information Report (FIR) on the complaint of a 30-year old woman. ## The woman claimed that she was allegedly raped by Kumar on the pretext of giving her a job in one of his upcoming projects. Taking action on it, Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for a case of rape. The Andhra Pradesh Government also has permitted theatres to reopen with 50% seating capacity. ## As the theaters are waiting for films to release on the big screens, the top producers and distributors of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have been meeting on a regular basis to discuss the further course of film releases in Telugu states. While a few films have already opted for direct-to-digital release, the movies such as Love Story, Tuck Jagadish, Most Eligible Bachelor, Seetimaar, among others gearing up for a theatrical release. ## Recently, Satyadev's Thimmarasu was announced for the July 30th release in theaters, becoming the first theatrical release announcement post the second covid-19 wave. Now, as per the latest development, Nani's "Tuck Jagadish" will be the first big-ticket Telugu movie to hit screens. The makers have reportadly finalized the July 30 release on a record number of screens. ## Tuck Jagadish, directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi, is an action-masala film. Apart from Nani, the movie also stars Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles while the music is composed by S.
