Los Angeles, July 10, 2021: After getting delayed for more than one year, Marvel Studios' female-led superhero movie, Black Widow, finally playing in theaters on July 9. The 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was also released simultaneously on Disney+ Premier Access with $30 additional fees required in the US. ## As expected, Black Widow opened with highly positive reviews from critics and audiences. Currently, the movie is "Certified Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an 80% critics score and 93% audience score. Critics have called it one of the finest solo superhero films from Marvel Studios. ## Not only the critics and audiences, the "Spider-Man: No Way Home" star Tom Holland too enjoyed watching this much-awaited film from Marvel. The actor took to Instagram stories and wrote, "Been waiting ages for this film and it was worth the wait. This film is awesome!!! So exciting and so funny". ## Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), the film sees Natasha Romanoff on the run and forced to confront a conspiracy tied to her past. Black Widow is also going to be Scarlett Johansson's one last appearance as Natasha in the MCU movies. [Director] James Cameron offered me 10% of it". For the record, Avatar is the highest-grossing movie ever with $2.8 billion at the box office. ## "I will go down in history… you will never meet an actor who turned down more money", Damon continued at Cannes where his crime drama film, Stillwater premiered. ## When someone in the audience pointed out that James Cameron is well underway on his sequels to the movie, Damon joked, "There are sequels? Oh my god". Everyone Working On Netflix's Anthology Series, Navarasa, Hasn't Taken A Professional Fee

Chennai, July 9, 2021: Netflix has unveiled the much-awaited teaser of the Tamil anthology web series, "Navarasa", created by the ace filmmaker, Mani Ratnam. The 9-episodes series stars some of the biggest names of the South Indian cinema such as Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Fahadh Faasil, Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Anjali, among others. ## Unlike the other shows and films, Navarasa has been made for a noble cause. As we all know, the covid-19 pandemic had left the film industries in a bad shape as workers who form the bulk of it were struggling to make their ends meet. It was then that Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan along with the rest of the team thought of raising funds by making a series and generate funds to support those in the film industry who have been affected by the COVID19 crisis. ## It is to be noted that the artists, technicians, and directors working on the series are contributing towards the film without remuneration, with only the costs of production being associated. The profits earned from the project will be donated to the members of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI), who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. ## Mani Ratnam, in a conversation with Sreedhar Pillai for sify.com, said that they are close to reaching their target between Rs 12 to 15 Crores, which will go directly to the worker and his family. They are working with Bhumika Trust which was set up for disaster relief management, and have issued individual credit cards to all workers. ## In the process, the team started distributing prepaid cards to the workers from the end of March 2021 onwards, with each beneficiary receiving ₹ 1,500 per month on the prepaid card for a period of five months, which can be utilized at grocery outlets. Nearly 12,000 workers in the film industry will benefit from it. ## Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan, who are producing the series under their respective banners Madras Talkies and Qube Cinema Technologies, had initially thought of releasing the anthology in theaters. However, due to the closer of cinemas because of the covid-19 pandemic and each part of the anthology being 30-40 minutes long, a theatrical release was not possible. It will now premiere on Netflix on August 6. ## Navarasas is based on the Indian concept of the 9 human emotions or 'rasas' - anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace, and wonder. Each episode has been directed by 9 different directors - Bejoy Nambiar, Priyadarshan, Gautham Menon, Karthick Subbaraj, Karthik Narain, Vasanth, Arvind Swamy, Rathindran Prasad, and Sarjun. ## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, July 9, 2021: Universal Pictures has signed a landmark deal with sister streaming service Peacock for its upcoming films. Starting 2022, all Universal movies will be heading to Peacock no later than four months after they open in theaters. ## The new deal will allow Peacock to stream Universal films such as Jurassic World and the new Halloween movie, among others to premiere them within four months after their theatrical release, as well as within the final four months of an 18-month window. ## On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV have also reached a multi-year licensing agreement with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group that will give the streamers access to blockbusters like F9 and Jurassic World: Dominion after they stream on Peacock, in a total of 18-months window. ## Universal said the traditional 18-month window would be divided between Peacock and other partners, as follows: For the first and last four months, Universal movies will play exclusively on Peacock; for the intervening 10 months, they will be made available to Prime Video and IMDb TV. ## Under the Amazon deal, IMDb TV — Amazon's free streaming service — will also have AVOD and SVOD rights to titles like Dolittle, The Invisible Man, F9, and Sing 2, as well as animated titles like Despicable Me 2, How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Shrek 2.## The new deals between Universal Pictures and streamers, come in light of the effect, the covid-19 pandemic has made. Before the pandemic era, movies didn't go to streamers before six to seven months of their theatrical run. Satyadev's Legal Crime Thriller Film, Thimmarusu To Release On July 30 In Theaters

Hyderabad, July 8, 2021: After four back-to-back digital releases, talented Telugu actor Satya Dev's next film will be a theatrical one. The movie, titled "Thimmarasu" is all set to release in theaters on July 30. ## The legal crime thriller film is going to be the first Telugu cinema to hit the cinema halls post the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Directed by Sharan Koppisetty, Thimmarusu is the remake of the 2019 Kannada film Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni which itself was based on the 2017 Korean movie New Trial.## Produced by Mahesh S Koneru and Yarabolu Srujan under East Coast Productions, S Originals, the movie tipped to be a legal crime thriller.
