Pankaj Tripathi Suggests A Small Film City In Bihar Village

Versatile actor, Pankaj Tripathi who hails from Bihar, has come up with an interesting idea and put forth a suggestion of creating a film-friendly set up in a village near Patna city of Bihar, where people from the Bollywood film industry can shoot for their projects. ## "A film-friendly 'mohalla' or colony is possible with a little bit of funding from the government to create a film panchayat at a well-connected village near Patna, at least on a trial basis for now. The area can hence be marked by filmmakers all across the country to shoot any urban setting scenes they need to for their film, with the maximum help in the form of a solid support system provided by the locals there", says Tripathi. ## The actor also said that the villagers can be trained to work as junior artists in the films shot there, which could be a source of income for them. ## "Locals can be a part of the crew as well as act as junior artistes in films that are shot there. We could try creating a village similar to the likes of Mawlynnong village in Meghalaya, which is known to be the cleanest village of Asia also a tourist spot. I have been to this village and it's a very fascinating place to visit", added Tripathi.## On the work front, Tripathi has several projects in the pipeline including Ranveer Singh-starrer "83", "Mimi", and "Bachchan Pandey", featuring Akshay Kumar. Ranveer Singh To Team Up With Director Shankar For Hindi Remake Of The Tamil Blockbuster Anniyan

Earlier, there were reports that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh will collaborate with an ace filmmaker S. Shankar for a large-scale Hindi film. Well, keeping all the speculations aside, the director himself confirmed the much-awaited collaboration which he termed as the larger-than-life cinematic experience. The film will be the official Hindi adaptation of Shankar's own directorial 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller, "Anniyan" starring Chiyaan Vikram. ## "I am blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of the spectacular cinematic vision of Shankar sir. He is an exception to the norm, a true disruptor. I had always hoped and dreamed that I would get a chance to collaborate with him. To lead a film like 'Anniyan' is a dream come true for any artiste. Vikram sir, one of our country's finest talents, an artist who I hugely admire, gave a colossal performance in the original, one that can never be matched. I can only hope that my interpretation and rendition of the part also connect with audiences in the same way", Ranveer said in a statement. ## The Hindi remake will be produced by Dr. Jayantilal Gada under his banner Pen Studios and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment, with the soundtrack on the Saregama label. The movie will go on floors in mid-2022. ## "For it to be made into a Hindi film, 'Anniyan' needed a maverick, charismatic showman like no other to play the part", said Shankar. "I found this in the mercurial Ranveer Singh because he is a once-in-a-generation actor who has shown us that he can immortalize a character through his stellar performance. Shankar aims to take Anniyan to another level altogether with the help of modern VFX and state-of-the-art technology and it is the project Shankar and his team have been planning to put together for a long time now. ## The film will mark Shankar's return to Hindi films twenty years after his only Hindi directorial, Nayak (2001) that starred Anil Kapoor in the lead. Interestingly, that film was also the remake of his own Tamil political drama, Mudhalvan (1999). ## Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently filming for the Rohit Shetty adaptation of Shakespeare's Comedy Of The Errors "Cirkus" in Hyderabad, and will then head to Karan Johar's next directorial which is a relationship drama co-starring Alia Bhatt. He is expected to do one more film before starting Shankar's film. The actor's "83" and "Jayeshbhai Jordaar" are ready to release. ## On the other hand, Shankar also has "Indian 2", with Kamal Hassan reprising his role from the 1996 film, in the works. The film is currently on hold as Hassan awaits the results of the Tamil Nadu state elections which he and his party are contesting. The controversy over the poster of Ekta Kapoor's new web show is getting intense after National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria expressed his disappointment on the apology tendered by Ekta Kapoor's production house ALT Balaji following Saria's allegation of poster concept plagiarism. Saria alleged that the poster of Ekta's show "His Storyy" is similar to his 2015 film "Loev". ## Calling ALT Balaji's apology brazen, disrespectful, inconsiderate, careless, and smacks of arrogance, Sudhanshu Saria said during a video interaction with IANS that the apology has left him numbness and it knocked the wind out of me. He also expressed that the action left him angry which he could not even explain. ## On Sunday, ALT Balaji put out a statement on social media that reads, "On the 9th of April, we released a poster of 'His Storyy' and were made aware of the existence of Sudhanshu’s 'Loev' poster. The uncanny resemblance and similarity cannot be written off as a mere coincidence. It has been an oversight on part of our design team. For this, we apologize".## "We respect the creativity of every designer and would never intentionally lift their work nor disregard their talent. Thus, an apology to the artists involved in the making of this poster is warranted. The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday (April 13) announced the winners of the ICC Player of the Month Awards for March which recognize and celebrate the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year.## India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned to international cricket after more than a year, won the ICC Men's Player of the Month for March 2021, for his impressive performances in India's recently concluded series win against England. On the occasion of Ugadi, the much-awaited title of Nandamuri Balakrishna's upcoming actioner with director Boyapati Sreenu is out, and keeping all the speculations aside, the film is titled 'Akhanda'. The movie marks the third collaboration of the hit combo of actor-director. ## The title was announced with a 1-minute long teaser in which, Balakrishna is looking in the fierce avatar as Aghori and stealing the show with his powerful dialogue and roaring screen presence. ## Produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under the banner Dwaraka Creations, the movie stars Pragya Jaiswal as the female lead while Srikanth Meka plays the antagonist. Earlier, Sayyeshaa Saigal was supposed to romance the senior hero in the film, but later, she was replaced by the Jabalpur bombshell Pragya Jaiswal due to unknown reasons. ## While the shooting of the film is on the verge of completion, recently, the makers have shot high-octane action sequences involving Balakrishna and the principal cast at the Dandeli forest in Karnataka. Kerala Film Body Warns Fahadh Faasil After Consecutive OTT Releases

The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) has time and again warned actors for releasing their movies on OTT platforms. After expressing disappointment over Mohanlal's decision of releasing "Drishyam 2" on Amazon Prime Video, the film body has now given an ultimatum to Fahadh Faasil that his films will not be allowed to release in theatres if he continues to release his films on OTT platforms. ## The warning from Kerala Film Body came after Faasil's three movies released directly on the OTT platforms which is a big setback for theater owners. He first released the shot-from-home lockdown thriller "C U Soon" on Amazon Prime Video. It was, however, released during the peek of the pandemic on 1 September 2020, which left no choice for makers but to make it available directly on OTT. ## Though, "C U Soon" released when theaters were closed, recently, two of his films "Irul" (April 2) and "Joji" (April 7) were also released on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video respectively despite the fact that theatres have opened up now in Kerala and elsewhere, including all the southern states.## The FEUOK members are of the stand that they would not allow Fahadh's upcoming movies in theatres if he continues to cooperate with OTT platforms. Actor Dileep and producer B Unnikrishnan had talked with Fahadh Faasil over the phone regarding the matter and warned him that his upcoming big-budgeted, Malik, which is scheduled to release on Eid, will not be allowed to hit theaters if he does not support theaters. ## The Film Organization has requested Faasil to take a decision at the earliest. The actor's decision, however, is awaited. Meanwhile, the Film Body has also decided not to screen Mohanlal's "Drishyam 2" in theaters. The talks for Hera Pheri 3 have been making rounds for quite some time now, but nothing was finalized. However, things have finally started falling in place. ## While fans are waiting for Hera Pheri 3, the makers are planning much bigger. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala, in a recent interview, had said that the script for Hera Pheri 3 has been locked with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal reprising their roles for which, the official announcement will be made soon. ## "The idea is to have not just Hera Pheri 3, but several more Hera Pheri's and we are working keeping that in mind. We were being extra careful on the script. We will make up for the time gap between part two and three", he added.## Firoz admits that there is a lot of pressure in taking a cult franchise like Hera Pheri forward. "More than pressure, it is a moral responsibility to deliver a quality product to the audience. God has blessed us with such a good franchise, so we have to be careful with the story, screenplay, dialogue, and give our best. We don’t have to take our franchise for granted but start from scratch. We have been working towards attaining this goal".## Directed by Neeraj Vora, Phir Hera Pheri ended on a cliffhanger with Raju (Akshay) on the bridge trying to get hold of the antique guns lying far off between the bridge and the sea.
