Rani Mukerji To Star In A Drama Thriller, Titled Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway

Actress Rani Mukerji, who will soon be seen in the sequel of Bunty Aur Babli, has signed a drama thriller movie, titled "Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway", to be directed by written and directed by Mere Dad Ki Maruti-fame Ashima Chibber who has also written the script of the new film. ## Nikkhil Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Monisha Advani of Emmay Entertainment will produce the movie in association with Zee Studios. The film is expected to go on the floors soon. The movie announcement was made on Rani Mukerji. The story of the movie, inspired by true events, revolves around a mother's battle against an entire country. ## "There could have been no better way to celebrate my birthday today than announce this really important film. In my 25th year in cinema, I have possibly signed one of the most special and significant films of my career. I started my career with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, which was a woman-centric film, and coincidentally in my 25th year, I'm announcing a film that is also centered around a woman's resolve to fight against all odds and take on a country", Mukerji said in a statement. ## "Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway is a story of true human resilience and it is a film that is dedicated to all the mothers out there. Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam To Release In April As Scheduled

Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film, Laabam is one of the most awaited Indian films of 2021. The movie was announced way back in 2019 but the shoot was delayed because of the covid-19 pandemic. And finally, when the shoot was over and post-production was also on the verge of compilation, the unfortunate demise of the director S. P. Jananathan left the Laabam team shattered and shocked and also dented the chances to release the movie in April. ## However, the makers have now announced that despite the unfortunate things that happened in the last few days, Laabam will be ready to release in theaters in April as scheduled in Tamil and Telugu. The 7Cs Entertainment - one of the producers of Laabam, took to Twitter and issued a statement regarding the release of the film. ## The statement read that most of the post-production work was already completed by the late filmmakers S. P. Jananathan while the remaining work that is pending will be completed by Laabam team. The makers, therefore, announced that they will be releasing Laabam in Tamil and Telugu this April in theaters on a massive scale. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team squad for the 3-match ODI series against England. Prasidh Krishna, Karnataka pacer, has been handed his maiden India call-up along with Suryakumar Yadav, who recently made his India debut in the T20I series against England and Krunal Pandya. ## Krishna will join the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, T Natarajan, and Shardul Thakur in the pace department. Jasprit Bumrah, who recently got married, is missed out after being on an extended leave. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have also not included in the squad as they are yet to fully recover from their injuries. ## The All-India Senior Selection Committee, led by Chetan Sharma has picked a full packed batting unit with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer have all been included along with Rishabh Pant in the squad. FWICE Issued A Non-Cooperative Notice Against Gauhar Khan For Flouting Quarantine Rules

After Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) filed a complaint against Gauhar Khan, the actress seems to have invited more trouble as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), an umbrella body of over 32 film industry unions, on Tuesday issued a non-cooperative directive against Khan for allegedly flouting quarantine rules after testing positive for the coronavirus, the Scroll.in reported. ## According to the notice against Khan, FWICE has asked all Indian cinema associations linked to the federation to "distance themselves" from Gauhar for the next two months till a fresh directive was issued, permitting her to resume work in the industry.## In a press release on Tuesday, the Cine body "highly condemned" the actress's alleged actions, and said it was "indeed a serious offense". I Do Not Work On OTT, My Focus Has Been The Big Screen: Mumbai Saga Director Sanjay Gupta

Amid the rise of OTT platforms in India and many filmmakers opted to release their content directly on streaming platforms because of the covid-19 pandemic, director Sanjay Gupta has once again reiterated his love for theaters. Known for his high-octane action films, the filmmaker said he has never thought of making content for OTT and asserted his films are only made for the big screen. ## "I do not work on OTT. I am not even looking at the platform. My focus has been the big screen and on what will appeal to people sitting in a closed environment, on people who make an effort to go to watch the film", he told IANS.## Mumbai Saga, which is directed by Sanjay Gupta, will be hitting theaters this Friday (March 19). The John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer delayed for almost a year due to the pandemic and just like the other films, the speculation of its direct-to-digital release had also started making noise. However, Sanjay was the one who always committed to Mumbai Saga's theatrical release which is happening now. ## For Gupta, shooting "Mumbai Saga" has been quite an adventure for him due to the pandemic as there was a lot of uncertainty out there. ## "This has been an experience unlike any in my entire career. There has been a lot of uncertainty. At one point of time, it was like a life-and-death situation as there were portions to be shot and the pandemic had peaked. We completed shooting the film right in the middle of the peak. We sat on the film for six months after that".## "But somebody had to come forward among the bigger films, so we decided to go ahead and release the film. The advantage that we have over the other biggies is that our budget is not that huge. It is a calculated risk. By coming to the theatres we may not make money, but we will not lose money", he said.## However, he adds that filmmakers like him are making an effort to ensure films get a good theatrical release and making sure that Mumbai Saga gets as many screens as it can. Though he is not sure about the footfalls and has no expectations about how many people will go to theaters to watch the film. The recently released 'Roohi' showing a good trend if not as good as it was a pre-covid era. Sanjay Gupta said that Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer has shown that people are coming to theaters which is a good sign going forward. ## Stay tuned...
