The Central Crime Branch had allegedly begun their probe into the drug trafficking case and have arrested several people so far. ## On Tuesday (September 15), Karnataka Police conducted searches at former Karnataka minister late Jeevaraj Alva's son Aditya Alva, who is also the brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi.## Aditya Alva is named one of the 12 accused in the Sandalwood drug scandal.## Speaking to India Today, joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said, "Search warrant was taken and search being conducted at Aditya Alva house near Hebbal called 'House of Lives'."## The development comes a day after Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi arrested last week in the police crackdown against drug abuse in the film industry. Veteran actress and Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan has slammed the people who have been trying to defame the Bollywood film industry since the sad demise of a brilliant actor Sushant Singh Rajput.## Jaya Bachchan spoke about an alleged "conspiracy to defame the film industry" on the second day of the Monsoon Session in Parliament. She had given a Zero Hour notice in Rajya Sabha, which can be raised for critical matters with the approval of the Speaker. ## "People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language", Jaya said on Tuesday, according to Hindustan Times. ## Previously, actor Kangana Ranaut had called the film industry a "gutter" and alleged that 99% of the people who work in it have been procuring and consuming drugs. ## "Just because there are some people, you can't tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame", she added, referring to comments made by BJP MP Ravi Kishan on Monday (September 14). ## "A conspiracy is being hatched to destroy the country's youth and our neighboring countries are adding to it. The smuggling of drugs from Pakistan and China is being carried out every year. It is being brought via Punjab and Nepal. Drug addiction is in the film industry too. Several people have been apprehended. The NCB has been doing very good work. I urge the central government to take strict action against the culprits soon. Give them a befitting punishment and bring an end to this conspiracy by neighboring countries", Ravi Kishan had said.## Bollywood film industry has been facing a hard time ever since Sushant's demise. Coming as a significant development, the names of Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Simone Khambatta have apparently emerged in the Narcotics Control Bureau's (NCB) probe into the drugs angle surrounding the mysterious death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, official sources said here on Monday, as reported by IANS. ## Though NCB Deputy Director K.P.S. Malhotra confirmed the names of the above celebrities, he denied media speculation of the agency having prepared a so-called 'hit-list' of 25 Bollywood personalities in connection with the probe as it was reported by a few news channels. ## Yesterday, the NCB officials had denied that Rhea named Sara, Rakul, and Simone during the probe but within 24 hours, the officials came up with a new twist and said that the names of these 3 came out in the investigation. ## According to Zee News, Rhea in her confession told NCB that Sara Ali Khan had accompanied Sushant Singh Rajput and other friends to Thailand. It is to be noted that Rhea while speaking to a news channel, had stated that Sushant used to live his life like a king-size and had spent Rs 70 lakh on an all-boys' trip to Thailand. ## Over a dozen persons have been arrested by the NCB so far, including Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, and several drug peddlers, narco-dealers, and suppliers.## While Rhea, Showik, and others have been sent to judicial custody, some of the drug peddlers have been remanded to NCB custody.## Stay tuned...

Choreographer Ganesh Hiwarkar recalls the time when his dear friend, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput had not only stopped him from committing suicide but also made sure his career as a dance teacher flourished in the city even when he himself was struggling in the industry. ## Speaking to IANS, the choreographer said that Sushant gave him emotional, moral, and financial support despite being a struggling actor and dancer at the time.## "This was in 2007. It was Sushant's idea to make a brochure for my dance class. I did not have much knowledge about these things at that time. I would normally run my class with just five or six students. Sushant was associated with Shiamak Davar, and he told this was not the way", Ganesh told.## "He told me I needed to advertise to get more students. He got Shiamak's brochure and calendar and showed it to me, saying this is how branding needs to be done".## "Sushant not only gave me the idea for the brochure but created it, too. I still remember he sat on a computer all night looking for a suitable name for my dance class, brochure design, and all that. The text was also planned by him, what to mention for kids, what to write to attract adult students. He also posed for the photographs that were printed in the brochure", Ganesh added.## The choreographer went on to inform how the cost for his dance class brochure was also borne by his friend Sushant, who himself was a struggling actor and dancer at that time.## "The cost of the brochure was also borne by him. I come from a middle-class family and could not afford to spend the amount at that time. It had cost him around Rs 15-20,000 I guess at that time. My fees at that time were 1000 rupees per student, one of them being Sushant. I had to survive on Rs 5000 in Mumbai, so I couldn't dream of spending on stuff like brochures", he said.## "He was struggling at that time but did not think twice before spending the amount on my brochure. Not only did he save me from committing suicide but he also made sure I focus on my career as a dance teacher. That was Sushant," Ganesh recalled.## He further recalled, "Sushant would take me on his bike, around the city to meet people. That is how he helped me get a job as a dance teacher in Anupam Kher's acting academy where I taught for some time".## Stay tuned...
