SS Rajamouli Signs With Entertainment and Sports Agency CAA; Sets His Next With Mahesh Babu

Los Angeles, September 23 - The maverick Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli has signed with Hollywood's entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) after the mega-blockbuster success of "RRR" in the USA. ## Rajamouli is currently in the USA to promote "RRR" for the Oscar 2023 nominations. The movie has been snubbed by the Indian jury as India's official Oscar entry but the makers will push the film through the general category. Many Hollywood filmmakers believe that "RRR" could get the Best Picture nomination, which is prompting makers to push for this mega opportunity. ## Variance Films, the film's U.S. distributor, announced that it will launch a full awards campaign for the movie and is calling on the 10,000 Academy members to consider voting for the film in all categories.## It will be submitted for best picture, director (Rajamouli), original screenplay (Rajamouli and Vijayendra Prasad), lead actor (for both NTR Jr and Ram Charan), supporting actor (Ajay Devgn), supporting actress (Alia Bhatt), original song ("Naatu Naatu"), original score (M.M. Ram Charan To Start A New Film?

Hyderabad, September 22 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has been working on his political action drama film with director S. Shankar. The movie went on floors earlier this year, however, things are getting slowed on the progress of the movie as director Shankar is simultaneously started working on his long-awaited "Indian 2" with Kamal Haasan. ## "Indian 2" went on floors a long time back but the shoot was paused after an accident on the set. It recently resumed in Chennai and now, reports say Shankar wants to finish this movie quickly. According to Telugu media reports, Ram Charan is not happy with Shankar's divided attention towards "RC15", hence he is looking to start a new film. ## According to the Great Andhra report, Ram Charan had met with several directors to set up a new project. 'RRR' US Distributor Variance Films To Run Best Picture Oscar Campaign For The Movie

Mumbai, September 20 - The Film Federation of India has picked the acclaimed Gujarati film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) for India's official entry for Oscars 2023. ## The news about India's official Oscar entry has left many movie fans in India disappointed as they were hoping that SS Rajamouli's globally appreciated film RRR would get the nod from the Indian jury. The movie, however, can still get an Oscar nomination in the general category, and the USA distributor of the film, Variance Films will be running a campaign for the same. ## Variance Films president Dylan Marchetti said that "RRR" will receive a significant Best Picture campaign, but he also saw the potential for Best Original Song ("Naatu Naatu"), in addition to cinematography, production design, editing, and many other categories. ## The hashtag "#RRRforOscars" has been trending on Twitter for the past week here in India. "The only thing this news changes is one less award we can go after (Best International Film)", Marchetti said, a few hours after the Indian decision was announced (via Indiewire). "There's a dozen-plus other we can go for now. This film is the whole package".## "RRR" continues to play at theaters in Brooklyn and Philadelphia, with additional cities booked through the end of the year in the USA. "I don't think 'RRR' is the best movie from India this year", Marchetti said. "It's the best movie in the world this year. Prabhas' 'Project K' Is A Futuristic Sci-Fi Actioner With A 'Mahabharta' Connection

Hyderabad, September 15 - Superstar Prabhas is currently working on two of the most expensive and anticipated Indian films - Adipurush and Project K. ## The "Adipurush" shoot is done and the movie is ready for release on January 12, 2023. Nani's Most Expensive Film 'Dasara' Theatrical Rights Sold For Record Price

Prabhas' Romantic Actioner 'Varsham' To Re-Release On His Birthday?

Hyderabad, September 10 - Superstar Prabhas' 2004 romantic actioner Varsham is getting ready for re-release with remastered version. The movie, directed by Sobhan, will most likely to re-release on Prabhas birthday on October 23 or a day before. ## Produced by M.S. Raju under the banner of Sumanth Art Productions banner, Varsham was the third highest-grossing Telugu film of 2004. It also starred Trisha Krishnan, and Gopichand along with Prakash Raj and Chandra Mohan, among others. The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad. ## Varsham was remade in multiple other languages, including Hindi as "Baaghi", starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor. The Hindi version also became a huge hit and paved the way for two more films in the franchise. "Baaghi 4" will also be made in near future. ## Meanwhile, "Varsham" is not the only film of Prabhas that will be re-release on his birthday. Vijay Deverakonda To Do A Fantasy Film With Producer Dil Raju?

Hyderabad, September 10 - Vijay Deverakonda, whose much-hyped sports action drama film Liger bombed at the box office, has resumed the shoot of Shiva Nirvana's romantic comedy Kushi, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He was also doing JGM with director Puri Jagnnadh, but that movie has reportedly been put on hold. ## Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, Vijay Deverakonda is in talks with producer Dil Raju for a fantasy film. It is said that the producer had planned a fantasy film with VD in the direction of Indraganti Mohan Krishna a couple of years ago. ## Mohan Krishna's last film was Nani-starrer "V", which was released directly on the OTT platform. Dil Raju was reportedly so optimistic that Indraganti would deliver a massive hit with Nani's film, however, the movie did receive poor reviews and was a digital flop. ## Dil Raju is now looking to revive the film with some other directors and he is reportedly in consultations with VD to work on further plans. Harish Shankar is one of the names that is being discussed to direct the film. ## Vijay Deverakonda, meanwhile, will also do a film with Sukumar who will soon start the shooting of the second part of Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rule". 'Liger' Distributor Backs The Movie Despite Heavy Losses

Hyderabad, September 5 - Vijay Deverakonda's sports action drama film, Liger has tanked at the box office. This resulted in heavy losses to the distributors who bought the movie at high prices. The Puri Jagannadh-directed film was made on a big budget and was expected to do well at the box office, but that didn't happen. ## "Liger" opened to disastrous reviews from critics who slammed the movie left, right, and center, as if the movie didn't deserve to exist. Because of the critics' reviews, the movie couldn't gather any momentum after the opening day and ended up with just a 20% recovery of total investment. ## With such a poor response to the movie, it would be fair to assume that the distributors across languages are upset with the makers.
